"Having booked the holiday we did not expect a great deal.
How wrong we were! First impressions were good and just got better throughout the holiday. The room and bathroom were thoroughly cleaned and linen changed every day.
(The bathroom did occassionally smell but Greece is infamous for it's plumbing) In context this was a minor irritation. Food was excellent in variety and quality but the later you dine the less there is left!
Drinks were local and just ok but in plentiful supply.
Staff are helpful and the Manager is always around to oversee what is going on.
Dont expect too much from the entertainment staff and you wont be disappointed."

"As the annex is undergoing renovation at present we were accommodated in the main complex. The room was comfortable and clean, with a daily maid service and regular towel and sheet change.
The food was good with a large selection of dishes, but not much variation from day to day.
Apart from 1 "Greek night", the animation team supplied the entertainment, and as it was nearing the end of the season the team became increasingly depleted throughout the week. There was not a particularly lively atmosphere in the evenings, mainly people sitting chatting / playing cards etc.
Most of the staff spoke good English, the bar staff were friendly, and the reception staff were helpful.
Overall we were very happy with the hotel."

"Could not fault the hotel. The rooms were good, and the food was far better than lots of others we have stayed at. You could help yourselves to beer, wine and soft drinks at mealtimes. The food and beverage manager was always about, checking that everything was OK. (nice man) He even did a bit of a caberet on the greek night.
You could fill your own water bottle whenever needed, and you were not limited to just one drink per person at the bar.
We had booked an annex room, but were given a room in the Akti as the annex rooms were being gutted. Our room was #705 nearest the beach, but also next to the septic tank which was sometimes very smelly. That was the only complaint about the hotel that we had.
The Akti would be a great hotel if it was in a better area. I missed being able to get on a bus to go to other resorts on the island, but you had to go into Kos Town to get a bus anywhere. (I'm used to the dolmus in Turkey) You really felt isolated in the Kardamena area.
We enjoyed our week's break, and would recommend the Akti Beach Hotel Club.
Just wish they would tidy up the surrounding fields."

"our stay at the akti beach club was the best all inclusive holiday my wife and i have had. the food in general was very good although we never found the diabetic corner that is advertised. The hotel was kept spotless in all areas. Towels changed daily, maid service very good. As it was towards the end of the season, the hotel was far from full so there was no problem getting a sunbed. In the hight of the season it could be a problem, as could finding somewhere to sit at night. If your thinking of booking this hotel for next year. I would recommend that you pay the extra and stay in the main hotel and not the anex. they are starting work on the anex but its not certain it will be ready for next year, and its definately not 4* accomodation. Animation team will have changed next year so i can't comment on them. During our stay there idea of entertainment during the day was very limited, even though it was the end of season they could have done better. All in all. If you get a good deal, i would recommend the Akti Beach Club Hotel for a holiday. Finally I would like to thank Travel Republic for organising a really good holiday. no problems with flights, hotels or transfers. Everything went like clockwork. Thank You T/R"

"The hotel itself was clean and the maid came everyday. The food was good, but got a bit repeatative after a while. Sundays is 'fish day' and by fish day that means EVERYTHING is fish!!

The staff were very rude, only a small few were polite. The polish girl on reception was nasty if you were english but she loved the germans, same with the catering manager, who paraded around the dining room giving our german/dutch/austrian/italian friends special treatment and never gave the english the time of day.

They closed everything down and cut the food down due to being the end of season, but the hotel still had over a 100 guests in!!"

"The hotel reception staff were extremely friendly however on arrival and departure which happened to be early hours of the morning the security guard was arrogant and very unhelpful (this may be because we were a big group but is not an excuse)
Animation in the hotel was OK but not very engaging however they do have a mini disco for younger children which seemed popular by other people.
The beach is all pebbles and the activities are very expensive not recommended.
The bedroom was lovely however you need to make sure you have air-con which is a 50 euro deposit at the main reception. The maid cleaned the room everyday and we were given fresh towels which is great for me as i'm a clean freak!"

"My husband and I travelled with my daughter and her sons aged 12 and 9 years old.
After a very poor start when our family were put into the dreaded Annex, we complained very politely that we had booked 4* accomodation which the Annex certainly was not. We were moved on the 2nd day and were delighted with the rooms we were given, which were clean, bright and large. The food in the hotel was fantastic something for everyone and the staff in the restaurant were cheerfull and very hardworking. It was our younger grandsons 10th birthday whilst we were there and a cake arrived at our table with all the staff singing happy birthday to him, which was a really nice touch.
The pools were very good but funnily enough we loved the pool back at the annex, it is so secluded and we always managed to find sunbeds. WARNING: our grandsons had
a tester scuba diving course - just a few minutes in the pool but when we flew home the following day both boys had problems with their ears and on a visit to the doctors my daughter was told they should not have been diving so near to flying.
The beach wasn't very good but the children took telescopic fishing rods with them and enjoyed catching the numerous fish.
All in all, a most enjoyable holiday. Many thanks to Travel Republic who arranged everything. First class."

"The food was of a good standard and there was plenty of choice. It could perhaps have been better labelled as i was unsure whether some dishes contained meat or not. The hotel staff were fairly friendly and helpful. Rooms in the Annexe were not 4* but that was to be expected as it was much cheaper to stay there. The pool at the Annexe was the nicest, although smallest, of all in the hotel.

Our room had a problem with ants which wasn't very pleasant. The only other issue we had was with the drainage in the bathroom. The floor wasn't sloped enough for water from the shower to drain away properly."

"Excellent food, always something to choose from. Spag Bol was fantastic. Atmosphere in the hotel was great, staff were extremely nice. The only negative is the lack of entertainment which was extremely one dimensional and repetative. Certainly suitable for families or older couples although could have been more entertainment for children."
