"This hotel was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the decor is quite ornate with attractive intricate designs. We ate at the restaurant twice and the food was delicious, fresh and with remarkably good service. We had a fabulous room with a four-poster bed and a small balcony overlooking a quiet road. The pool isn't huge but it's big enough for a splash around and warmer than you'd think. The beach is only about 2-5 minute walk, depending on whether you're going normal speed or Essaouria speed! The medina and port is about 20-30 minutes on foot but it's a lovely walk along the promenade so it doesn't seem like a chore at all. If you're feeling lazy a taxi is only 7-8 dirhams anyway."

"Charming helpful staff, clean rooms. A bit cramped around the pool and quite a way out of town centre but still near the beach. However beach not cleared of heaps of washed up wood/plant debris and therefore impossible to get into sea here though is clear near town but good 20 mins walk. Very windy so sand blasts along the beach - hence not suitable for families or younger people."

"Hotel was clean, staff very friendly and helpful, helped us to book horse riding and quad biking, would go there again."

"The hotel staff were very helpful & friendly. Breakfast was nice but dinner was expensive compared to food elsewhere."

"nice, clean hotel, a bit away from Medina, cheerful, helpful staff. A bit basic, swimming pool on the small side. Basically 3 star hotel - and you get what's written on the tin"

"The hotel was very clean, the staff friendly and helpful. It was quiet, not on a main road and only a 2-3 minute walk from the beach.Would have been nice to have an english breakfast once or twice but that really was a minor detail and after all it was in a French Protectorate so a continental breakfast was expected.
Overall very happy and would go again."

"I cannot say that I am at all happy with the hotel Al Jasira…
The first impressions of the room on arrival were okay. My expectations were not too high but the room seemed clean.
On the night of 22nd having returned from an evening meal to my room I found two small cockroaches in the bathroom. As they were so small and I was on holiday I dismissed this as being a consequence of being in Morocco.
The next day, just after lunch, I returned to the room and found a much larger cockroach in the bathroom. This one was easily an inch long, after trapping it under a glass a closer inspection of the bathroom revealed several more.
I took the cockroach to the reception desk in a glass. The reaction of the staff was quite unbelievable. The glass was quickly taken from me and the cockroach was disposed of. After I refused to believe their tales that this was in fact a beetle, they admitted it was a cockroach but was not a problem of any sort. After I insisted that this was a real problem and posed a significant threat to my health they just laughed in my face.
My only option was to wait until the manager attended the hotel that evening to discuss the matter with him. Having consulted the paperwork sent to me by you as booking confirmation I understood that it was necessary to attempt to resolve this matter directly with the hotel before contacting you.
On speaking with the manager that evening I received a long awaited apology. With this came the offer of an alternative room, which I was keen to accept so long as it was clean and free of cockroaches.
The room was in fact clean but the odour of some sort of pesticide in the room was not too pleasant. Seeing this as my best option I accepted the room. I also arranged to meet the manager the following day to discuss a refund of the money I had paid for the two nights I had shared a room with cockroaches.
Notably from this point on the staff were some what more apologetic to both myself and my partner.
The next day (24th) I went to meet with the manager as planned. He had a desk full of invoices and asked if we could meet later. I arranged to meet him after I had taken lunch but on my return he had left the hotel. This was extremely disappointing.
The next morning when I was due to check out I waited for the manager to arrive. As I had a coach to catch early that afternoon I was tied to time and informed the manager of this. With this in mind he still proceeded to conduct an alternative meeting. On interrupting the meeting I was not acknowledged but instead the member of staff on the reception desk was summoned and instructed to provide me with a refund for one night’s accommodation. The money I received was equivalent to the local rate and well below what I paid that included a booking fee.
All in all this amounted to an incredibly disappointing stay. I think the service I received as a customer of the hotel was appalling and sharing a room with cockroaches is far from acceptable."

"Staff were friendly and helpful in every way."

"The hotel room was basic but adequate. The room was cleaned daily to a high standard . Fresh towels were given daily if you wanted them. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We did have a problem with an exessive amount of ants which just appeared one day! We complained to reception and the problem was dealt with right away, we were very impressed! The hotel was very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast did get a bit boring, just bread and cheese every day."

"Restaurant very good. Room overlooked by sunbathers around the pool."
