  • Christine from Aberdeen reviewed the Filoxenia Hotel

  • "Wonderful hotel, and nice friendly staff, especially Anthony in the bar. Apartment cleaned daily and towels changed regularly. Pleasant 15 min walk to the town and beach although may not be so in mid summer. Would definitely visit again."

  • Top Tip:

"Our favourite restaurants were the Apollon and Family, both greek style but there are lots of others to choose from. We can also recommend the cakes from Warm & Fresh, very tasty."

  • J from Leceistershire reviewed the Filoxenia Hotel

  • "Very good overall, rooms cleaned daily, regular clean towels and bed linen. All staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for them. Only downside was distance from the beach and town centre a lot further than we were led to believe."

  • Top Tip:

"Try Valentinos Castle for traditional Greek meal at very reasonable prices, the food is delicious. Paradise Bar for fun night out and Level Bar for best Karaoke in town."

  • "Very good, clean hotel, linen changed frequently. It is a good 10 to 15 minute walk to the centre of Tsilivi and slightly further to the beach. Staff very friendly and helpful. The two pools were excellent and the meals at the bar were of a good standard."

  • Top Tip:

  • "To far away from everything you will end up doing alot of walking.Nice staff, safe was 35 euros, air con was 60 euros for the 2 weeks sun bed mats were 2 euros for the day why dont hotels just put it all in the price.the super market was very expensive but go into the town for cheaper food just dont forget to take a donkey with you to bring it back cant go wrong with eating out where ever you go in the town would i go back not for a long time."

  • Top Tip:

"go right to the end of the beach and go to mambo beach bar not bad"

  • Helen from Ellesmere Port reviewed the Filoxenia Hotel

  • "Nice clean hotel with friendly staff. No entertainment during the day and Karaoke, quiz and greek night only offerings at night. We paid for bed and breakfast and were offered a reduced menu for breakfast, if you just got up for breakfast you were offered a big menu, if you had paid B & B you were offered a sheet of paper with basic items on, you were made to feel like second class citizens. When you did get your breakfast it was luke warm and varied on size i.e. number of sausages or pieces of toast. On the plus side there were two pools and one was very quiet, you could always get a sunbed no matter what time of day, however the sunbeds were very uncomfortable and if you wanted a mattress for them you had to hire one daily, for two euro's! Therefore most people were buying lilo's and using them on top of the sunbed's. The walk into town was not unpleasant however the road was quite busy especially if you have young children as it is not pavement all the way. The walk to the beach is a good twenty minutes walking at pace."

  • Top Tip:

"We quickly found our favourite restaurants in Tsilvili, The Olive Tree,Enzo Renzo, another small restaurant near to the Olive Tree, can't remember the name and the Indian/Chinese. The best bar is the Paradise Bar with adult entertainment and a ball pit for kids."

  • eleanor from southampton reviewed the Filoxenia Hotel

  • "The Hotel was very clean, basic and spacious, just on the outskirts of the main area, which was an ideal place for us. Within 10 mins walk we were on the main drag with lots of pubs, clubs and restaurants."

  • Top Tip:

"If you want a giggle than 'Paradise club' is a place to try out! With hats and friendly bar staff and maybe a visit from the queen!"

  • Linda from Barnsley reviewed the Filoxenia Hotel

  • "A really friendly hotel with clean rooms and good pool areas. About 20 minutes walk in the heat from the beach and 10 - 15 minutes from bars and restaurants. Food in resort was excellent, this was our second time at this hotel and I would definitely go back."

  • Top Tip:

"Best restaurant we visited was the Calypso, be warned the starters are big make sure you're hungry."

  • Robert andrew from dronfield reviewed the Filoxenia Hotel

  • "Lovely hotel, friendly staff, fairly clean, we had problems with the first room that we were allocated, however this was resolved quickly and without further problems. The hotel was a fair way out from the main resort and there were no paths for approx 100m. This caused us problems at night with the pram. There is no way the hotel is 4 star, we have stayed in several five star hotels and this is more like a 2 star."

  • Top Tip:

"A restaurant called 'The Olive Tree' that does a fantastic Greek Meze. Maxi Discount supermarket was the cheapest place to buy most supplies needed for self catering holiday. Don't eat at the Olive Garden Restaurant (different from The Olive Tree) poor service and most meals appeared to come prepared in the microwave!"

  • "When we arrived at our hotel they had no record of our stay as they ket sheets each day with there arrivals on. They stuck us in a dingy damp room until they found our room. We went to reception and demanded to see the manager who was very un helpful and basically said this isnt a problem and i told him it is from a customers point of view. The staff in the hotel were not helpful at all!
We waited 5hours for a toilet roll!"

  • brian from winsford reviewed the Filoxenia Hotel

  • "After many visits to different islands in greece we found these studios to be above average for greece.

The studios were well equiped and very clean and regular changes of bedding and towels, which semed to be every other day.

The staff were very friendly and went a long way in making our holiday great, both in the reception, minimarket and especially the bar/resturant."

  • Top Tip:

"After a short walk of about 15 minutes there was many bars and resturants in the centre, Valentinos resturant on the way in and then the Appollen and Magdalines bar did great cocktails."

  • ALAN from LERWICK reviewed the Filoxenia Hotel

  • "I would say WELL above average. We had terrible weather - torrential rain for most of the week, and there was not much to do in the hotel. I am sure that as it was end of season this was a contributory factor. They were able to supply a fairly large range of novels to borrow - thankfully!!"

  • Top Tip:

"Sweet Revenge - excellent restaurant . Lots of traditional Greek fare, good helpings, and if we bought 1litre of house wine, they gave us another free!! The wine was quite cheap in the first place -8 euros for the litre - and really good quality. 15 minutes walk or 20 minutes stroll from Filoxenia Hotel."

  • Lesley from Winsford reviewed the Filoxenia Hotel

  • "The apartment we had at the Filoxenia was spacious and clean. It was cleaned every day. It is a good walk (15-20 minutes depending on speed) to the centre and restaurants but we didn't mind the gentle stroll each evening, however, it would not be suitable for the less mobile. You also need to take care as it is dark on the road in places and the drivers mad at times.Only downside was it said 12 noon checkout on the room door but we were told we had to vacate at 10.30."

  • Top Tip:

"The Athena Restaurant , near the centre of the resort, did good value tasty greek meals and were very friendly."

  • Marie from Ryde reviewed the Filoxenia Hotel

  • "Reception staff were very friendly. Room was clean & spacious. Maid cleaned room every day, & we had clean towels every other day. Pool area was nicely set out, with a choice of 2 pools, one with a snack bar."

  • Top Tip:

"Valentinos Castle Taverna was lovely (only a 10.min walk from the appartment), & offered a great choice of Greek food, & good service. Also the Olive Tree in the strip of Tsilivi was a nice restaurant (about a 20 min. walk from the appartment.. We found that hiring a car through Hertz (which we picked up from the airport & pre-booked with our holiday with Travel Republic) a must, to explore the Island. You could get a taxi, or drive to "The Balcony".The Balcony was a lovely Italian restaurant (also part of a hotel), overlooking Tsilivi itself. We went during the evening & sat outside where you could look down the flood-lit cliff at the sea! Very romantic. Booked a brilliant tour with Mamfredas Tours in Tsilivi, which was a whole day boat cruise around the Island, including 3 swim stops (one being at the famous shipwreck!), for 25 Euros each we thought that was value for money, as this also included return transfer from Tsilivi by coach to Zakynthos port. We enjoyed a visit to Adamieion Ceramic Art Studio (about 30 min.walk / 5 min. car journey from the appartment), which had a lovely selection of ceramics which have been inspired from life & nature of Zakynthos, in a beautiful, tranquil setting- I could of spent a fortune there.... if only I could of carried it all!"
