"Very friendly staff - all helpfull - service and cleanliness both first class. Hotel Garbi is located on quite steeply rising ground so access to the hotel from the town could be a problem for the less mobile. This obviously includes walking to the beaches and nearby resteraunts. Inside the hotel lifts remove this problem.
This was our first visit to Calella de Palafrugell for almost twenty years. We have already decided to spend some time there next summer and are almost certain to return to Hotel Garbi."
Top Tip:
"excellent coastal walks both south to El Golfet and north to Lefranc"

"Charming, quiet location, even though on a main road - it is set well back. It is a very short walk to the town and beach. Breakfasts were better than expected, with fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt, cooked sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs, and cold meats and cheese, a good coffee machine, plus a huge selection of rolls and pastries (inc. donuts!). Next time we would ask for a room with a view over the bay. However, there was a terrace with a great view at the end of our corridor, with tables and chairs where we could sit and have a pre-dinner drink, (supermarket bought) which was fantastic. The room was a good size, and the beds were comfortable. Oddly, all their rooms have single beds - there are no doubles. The bathroom was extremely luxurious with a double sink unit. The pool location was charming and the staff were friendly. We didn't eat in the restaurant except for breakfast. On the downside, there was no minibar, and no radio in the room. Spanish and French TV only. but this was a minor inconvenience."
Top Tip:
"Restaurant Mas Oliver, Palafrugell, on the road leading out of Palafrugell just up from the big roundabout with the Carrefour supermarket. My favourite restaurant in the world - and old farmouse with antiques and grapevines. Go hungry though, they give you patatas alioli and tomato bread before you even start!
Calella itself remains absolutely beautiful, and the walk around the coast to Llafranc is not to be missed. Stop half way for a beer on a terrace overlooking the bay. Llafranc restaurants are expensive, however."

"Dated room/hotel. Up a steep hill! Only 5 mins.downhill walk to nearest cove. Breakfast o.k.
Not complaining though as we had a great last minute deal from Travel Republic."
Top Tip:
"On the beach opposite the Hotel Mediterrani is a small restaurant serving good food reasonably priced.... staff were friendly ....great location!"

Property Summary

Location

36 rooms, with private bathroom, hair-dryer, telephone and satellite TV, and 22 new 4**** rooms fitted as follows : air conditioning, jacuzzi, 21 inches screen television, and fantastic view overlooking the sea. Some of them will be set as duplex. Six of them are connected and two adapted for handicapped.

The facilities include a marvellous terrace with garden where banquets and first communion parties as well as working sessions can be held, because we also have a fully equipped conference room and a bar place with internet.

Traditional building surrounded by pines trees. The property has an uncovered and heated swimming poll surrounded by green areas.

In Calella de Palafrugell, family Serra own this lovely hotel. Surrounded by a pine-tree garden, with an uncovered and heated swimming-pool and an accurate Mediterranean cooking. 01/08 FG
