Nereida Hotel San Jose in Ibiza, Spain

"The hotel has an excellent but deep (1.5 to 3m deep) swimming pool and small paddling pool. It is on the sea front but there is no beach, it is rocky and leads to a ladder which alows access into the sea which is 3m deep on entry. Water very clear and good for snorkelling. Good food every day and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The only point that let the hotel down was the entertainment programme. During our stay most guests were in their 40s and 50s but the entertainement team could not adapt to suit the audience. They played loud hip-hop and pop music around the pool and organised games that would only suit children and teenagers. Several guest complained to the hotel management and the music was changed to something more suitable and the volume reduced to backgound level.

6 people attended the welcome meeting which mainly discribed clubbing events for two 20 year olds. Very little information was supplied for the other 4 people unless it was asked for. I assume the Rep works on commission, and if so he did a poor job of advertising and selling the various trips that were obviously on offer. We discovered and booked several trips with a Rep from a different company and were delighted with the service and the trips"

"Good pool for adults but not suitable for small children (shallow end is still quite deep). Not enough sunbeds. Nice, friendly staff. Fair choice of meals."
