"The Panorama Hotel, St Vlas is clean and comfortable enough and the staff are friendly and generally always on hand.
Choice of foods at breakfast is poor and there is no choice for the evening meal; owner will tell you what you are eating.
If you wanted any social time in the small bar area in the evening it doesn't happen. The hotel charges twice the price that the village or beach bars will charge you. Felt a little ripped off there. Many families/people will go off site or take a drink to their rooms.
There are three floors to the hotel and no lift. Older disabled people might find this a big problem. Also, there are steps leading down to the pool area. This is not a very big area though it is well used. Be there early for any hope of a parasol.
St Vlas is a pretty area but far too many building sites and construction work going on. In fact, the Bulgarian coast line is one big construction site.
The whole area on a whole is poor and quite scruffy. The beaches were not cleaned and many bottles, cans, plastic cups etc were left on the beaches throughout the area.
There are hard sell tactics used by local shop owners and market traders. Which spoils any day out. Restaurant owners will hassle you to go in to their establishment and some do not take "no thank you" for an answer. Nessebar is particularly bad for this.
Using the bus stop outside the hotel is okay, but some of the buses fail to turn up. It's the same for return trips. The municiple buses from the main road will run but are often crammed to bursting. Not very pleasant in the afternoon heat.
Overall, be prepared for something quite different in Bulgaria."
