  • "As usual good hotel. slight problem on arrival in room, balcony railings broken and patio doors off runners but dealt with immediately. The breakfast was ok but the evening meals were poor. The staff were doing their best but were unable to cope with the number of guests. They worked very hard and were very pleasant. Definately more staff required"

  • H from London reviewed the Sol Lanzarote Hotel

  • "Overall we were happy with the hotel. Reception staff friendly and helpfull and changed our room when requested. The rooms were spacious and cleaned daily. Good location by the beach but there wasnt a huge choice of bars and restaurants in walking distance. The hotel entertainment shows in the evening were good.

Criticism would be the food - we went Half board but the dinner variety and quality was poor, after the first week we decided to eat out all of the second week. The hotel allow you to change dinner for lunch which is another good point."

  • R from Ilford reviewed the Sol Lanzarote Hotel

  • "Self catering accom has everything you need esp with small children - microwave, fridge etc. Hotel is nice in general but there is only 1 restaurant which is very expensive for buffet lunch and dinner which wasn't great. recomend do not go there for lunch and dinner. Lunch you can get by the pool snack bar. Best bet is to take a few mins walk down beach to find some good restaurants for lunch or dinner. Cab costs about 3-4 euros to go the new and old town areas full of restaurants and bars. Entertainment is good but should focus more on kids - saying that - my 20mth old loved all of it though it starts at 9pm which is late for kids that are shattered from the day!. The flintstones theme is great - esp if yo have kids 5-12yrs so they can join club - not much for under 5s though. Pool was cold but ok once you get in-kids all seemed to love it once in - 4 pools. Was a great holiday overall but wouldn't stay there again-probably because of teh lack of lunch/dinner restaurants on site."

  • Jason Elah from Barnstaple reviewed the Sol Lanzarote Hotel

  • "Great Hotel & location. Only 10 minutes from airport. Fantastic swimming pools & reception area. Hotel Bam Bam club & its entertaintainment team are fantastic. Good varied entertainment in the evenings. We stayed in room 3118 which was on the ground floor overlooking the swimming pool. Only 20 metres from the pool. Hotel is not really a 4 star but a very good 3 star. Only issue is that the Bar & Snack Bar were understaffed & were rushed off their feet. Found reception staff helpful when we had issues with our safe & Patio Door lock. If you reserve a sunbed the pool attendant will take the towels off if they are empty (GOOD) so if you want a space by the pool you need to get your sunbed by 8.15am & stay there. The hotel also has a beach towel hire service which costs 15 Euros per towel for your stay. All you have to do is hand in the towel at the end of the day & they will give you a clean one. It is definately worth getting a transfer through travel republic as they get you at the hotel before all the package holiday crowd & again when you return to the airport. Will definately book our next holiday through Travel republic. Easy, no hassle & great value."

  • Top Tip:

"Turn left by the beach entrance from the pool area & there are 2 supermarkets within 5 minutes walk in a complex with loads of restaurants. Recommend El Parilla & especially the Slow Boat Chinese whose banquet meals are fantastic & the service is great. (Beware that all restaurant bills are subject to a 5% tax added on the bottom) If you turn right out on the sea front entrance about 10 minutes walk away there is a great english pub called The Anchor. Great food & service. A little further on is the El Molina Restaurant which serves great steaks & Carbonara. Camel ride morning trip well worth doing. If you decide to visit Titty Trollops Music Tavern for a night out be aware that it is really not that suitable for children under 12. Great entertainment though. It is definately worth getting a taxi into town as it costs only 4 euros to Titty Trollops which has loads of restaurants near by. Top Tip: Buy portable luggage scales and take them with you as the Spanish airport check in staff will charge you 7 Euros per Kilo over your allowance. Our friends were 13 kilos over & it took another 45 minutes for us to get through check in because of this. All of my families luggage were 20 kilos each as we weighed them before setting off to the airport & our friends did not want to use them."

  • Thomas from Manchester reviewed the Sol Lanzarote Hotel

  • "The apartment was fantastic, very clean and spacious with a maid service coming daily. Check in and check out at the hotel were both curtious and efficient. We didn't eat or drink at the hotel (we were self catering) so didn't have too much to do with the staff but when we did deal with them, for ordering cabs, changing money or arranging for a replacement key, they we friendly and helpful.

Location of the hotel was great, right on the beach and a 30 mins walk or 3-4 euro cab ride to Peuto del Carmen. Only minor gripe was that we requested a sea view when we booked the holiday but were told on arrival that we would have to pay a suppliment - that was only a minor inconvenience though. That and the pool being freezing!

All in all a great holiday for the price. Might not go to Lanzarote again but will definitely be using Travel Republic again."

  • Top Tip:

"If you're looking for a more authentic Spanish dining experience avoid the bigger restaurants on the strip in Puerto del Carmen and look for restaurants on the sea-side but down by the shore. We discovered this on the last night (typical!) and had the most wonderful meal for two for about 35 euros, including half a litre of sangria."

  • Nichola from Belfast reviewed the Sol Lanzarote Hotel

  • "The Hotel is great. Clean rooms, beds, bathroom etc. The room was just perfect for my sister and I. We were looking for a quiet chill out holiday and that's what we got. The beach is across a small walkway from the hotel...literally a stones throw away. You can hire beds/umbrellas there if you want...but why bother when they are free at the pool! Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Entertainment on offer was not my "thing" but perfect for Mums, Dads and Kids....There was always something going on in the evenings and from what I could see the kids club was well managed as I would see them all getting together each day for activities, water polo, pool games, tennis, bowls and adults could join in too....They have a "Flinstones" theme which seemed to go down well with the kids :-) That all went on in one of the pools, I bathed at the other pool and it certainly did not disrupt my peace and quiet."

  • Top Tip:

"When you go out of the hotel (beach front) turn right and walk along the promenade for 5 to 10 minutes, on the right there is "Kinsale" which looks fairly average from the outside...this place is the hidden diamond of the resort, the meal was absolutely fantastic, a little more expensive than others but believe me when I say that it was worth it. It's Irish owned and has a bit of a haute cuisine feel but really really yummy! If you are looking for something more standard go to the Slowboat Chinese restaurant, turn left when you come out of the hotel and it is in the complex where the Spar is. My sister went to the Beatrix Plaza 5star hotel Spa for a massage...they have all sorts of treatments there and if you looking for some real pampering that's where you will find it. The Beatrix is 5 to 10 minutes walk from the Sol Lanzarote...you can't miss it. The resort is extremely quiet and I would recommend Puerto Del Carmen if you are wanting more action, more choice of restaurants and shops. I went shopping into Arrecife and it's a beautiful little town...I wouldn't quite call it a city although the locals do. Beutiful designer shops can be found on Call Leon Y Castillo...so if you are a bit of a shoe and clothes freak...you'll love it!"

Great staff, rooms was cleaned every day and food was great,

  • Suzan from Surrey reviewed the Sol Lanzarote Hotel

  • "Very well maintained hotel. Staff friendly, pleasant and helpful although could do with more staff on duty at the reception desk. Went half board. There was nothing wrong with the food and it was sufficient although it was fairly similar from one day to the next. Plenty of sunbeds and three different depth pools plus a paddling pool for the little ones. Unfortunaley only the deepest one was heated (which is no good for people like me if you're not too confident in the water) so I made do with enjoying the sunbathing instead as I found the others too cold for my liking! Excellent hotel location right on the beach front with a good long promenade towards Peurto del Carmen one way and Matagorda centre the other (with shops and restaurants). Note: Peurto Del Carmen can be a bit hilly/ steep in places - hence we made use of local buses (cheap) and taxis (reasonable) to get around. Overall, we were pleased with the hotel and would confidently stay there again. It was nice to see a good social mix there, families, couples, friends, young, old..it seemed to suit everyone."

  • "Had a great holiday here but they need to get more staff for the bars and reception.
Rooms were big and we got clean towels everyday and bedding changed twice within the week we were there. Snacks okay but cannot comment on the restaurant as we never had a meal in it. ideal location for beach just outside hotel gate. Would go back only dissapointment was the weather."
