"My wife and I stayed at the Almyrida Beach In the summer and found the food good/staff very good. Hire a car and see the beautifull island of Crete. Top tip when driving keep as far to the wright as you can and use your mirrors, double white lines in the middle of the road dont seem to matter. Roads are better than here and getting better."

"Not a place to go if you are looking for entertainment and night life, there is only one "Greek Show" once a week. The resort is very quite and not much to do in the evening."

"The Hotel was lovely, very clean towels changed everyday, the housekeeping staff were always happy to help & speak.
The food was very good even for my fussy children.

Overall this was a wonderful holiday and i would recommend it to anyone, I had a supper time.

"Hotel was fine, however, yet again, for the second year running our the room we ordered, with a sea view was not available. Air con in and fridge in room was not working. Everything put right over about 3 days but still not good enough."

"1. In our view there was not enough family entertainment in the evenings at the hotel. Only 1 event a week.

2.The Greek dancing evening was a wonderful evening on Weds 16th July but we were unimpressed that 2 of the female professional Cretan dancers were drunk. On in particularly was staggering around and our 16 year old neice saw one of them vomitting in the bathroom. This let down the hotel.

3. The tension and embarrassment caused by a 24 year old Albanian waiter at the hotel pursuing our 16 year old niece against the wishes of her parents was a dominant negative shadow over what was supposed to be a wonderful treat for my family. We were surprised that the hotel did not have a policy in respect to staff hassling guests and being a nuisance."

"The location of the hotel and its two other hotel residences within the same resort were great - right in the centre of what is still a reasonably underdeveloped old fishing village - no high rise hotels! We could use the facilities of all three - ie pools etc.
Buffet style meals taken in the more modern boutique hotel were a good variety - something for everybody and catered for all tastes - and plenty of it.

Even though our Monarch flight into Chania was delayed by 10 hours, the taxi firm organised by yourselves had their driver waiting there (at 02.00) and on arrival to the hotel, the male receptionist took time to explain things - they had even kept a meal available for us which was thoughtful. Very friendly staff and the rooms and public areas were kept in an excellent condition. Hotels were very nicely furnished and although our fridge was not working on arrival - on return from the beach it had been sorted and nothing seemed too much trouble for the hotel staff overall."

"The hotel is lovely, very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The pool area is smart with plenty of chairs and sunloungers.
The beach is 30 seconds away, this too is clean and suitable for children.
The resort is quite quiet with around a dozen tavernas.
There was only one active ATM and this ran out of money regularly. It is possible to get cashback at the hotel though."

"This hotel is an excellent value for money!!
Everything is very good!! My husband and I had a wonderful time there. It's well located. Almirida beach is gorgeous where you can practice windsurf and if you rent a car you can find beautiful spots close to it!!
The swimming pool areas were amazing. Plenty of sunbeds, lovely place where I felt very comfortable to stay hours and hours. The decoration and the premises are all very good, including the bowling and the main restaurant with an outside area.
The rooms are big, very clean with lovely balcony and very good bathroom, good housekeeping. Air con works well and there are few TV channels in English, but it's ok.
The meals are excellent, they provide very good options in a plenty way.
Staff is adorable and I want to come back next summer with my friends!!"

"Hotel & staff were first class. One grumble, the food was not up to the standard that I would have expected from a 4* hotel. We ate in the same dining room as those guests who were staying in the 5* Almyrida Residence & I would have been most disappointed had we been 5* guests at the food standards."

"The Hotel itself was excellent however the food included within the HB price was disappointing. Disappointing from the aspect that the hotel itself was extremely comfortable but the meals provided with in the price where in a seperate building across the car park from the main building. It felf very much like I was eating in my old school dinner hall. Food was edible but not particularly appetising."
