"Rooms were clean but could have done with being redecorated and freshened up"

"The standard of accomadation was good value for the money.
The food left a lot to be desired (tasteless and lack of verity)
good breakfast(no tea or coffee allowed only for all inclusive use)
There were not enough sun beds if you went to the pool any later than eight oclock in the morning all reserved (typical).
entertainment in the evening, might as well have gone to blackpool (very yobish)"

"We have now stayed at this hotel twice and found it to be excellent value on both occassions, friendly staff and excellent service and not too early with the cleaners !!"

"Excellent holiday hotel clean and friendly, breakfast and lunch very good evening meal could have been better entertaiment was good would go back"

"Nice room, breakfast and lunch in the all inclusive excelent but the dinner was ok."

"The room was very clean and the cleaners attended to the room well."

"Our experience of this accomodation is that it caters for all age groups with exceptionally clean rooms, ours had great view of the sea, situated on extremely quiet road within walking distance of Amadores beach (get a taxi back if its very hot as its a very steep climb back up the hill to the appartments). On an all inclusive package the food was very good, and all staff helpful & friendly. The evening entertainment was varied & better quality than we have found at other AI hotels in the past. Pools are clean & there are plenty of sunbeds. We thoroughly enjoyed it & would not hesitate to return again."

"apartments were very clean everyone was extremely helpful, nothing was a bother.Leo,the entertainments guy was a scream but also a really nice guy who went out of his way to get to know everyone."

"I would definitely stay at this hotel again, it was fantastic! I went with my fiance for our summer holiday and we had a great time. The hotel was absolutely immaculate, the staff were friendly and helpful, the entertainment was brilliant and, although there was not a massive variety the food was great too. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
We went all inclusive, which was brilliant for us, but all of the apartments had facilities for self catering so you get the best of both worlds. I would not recommend all inclusive for fussy eaters or people with children as there was not a massive variety but we always found something we liked.
The only slight downside is the location. Altamadores is about a ten minute walk away from the Amadores beach, but as the hotel is situated at the top of a hill only the fittest walk back. However, a taxi is just a couple of euros. There is a shopping centre close by, the Europa Centre, which I would estimate at about a 20 minute walk, but again the taxi is only around 3 euros. Being a volcanic island, Gran Canaria has lots of hills!
Other than the hills I can not fault the hotel."

"We had an excellent time at the Hotel Amidores but have one gripe, the food. The hotel is exceptionally clean, the maids change the towels every two days, and the Hotel entertainment, ie. Leo, was first class. If you have a family and you are looking for a Hotel that will keep your kids entertained through the day and in the evening then this hotel is for you. The Hotel is on a hill which is very steep but it is only a 10 minute walk down to the beach. I would recommend a taxi back up and it on cost 2 1/2 euros. Puerto Rico is round in the next cove and that will cost between 3 to 4 euros. As I mentioned the food is very poor for evening meals with a maximum of 8 things to choose from (1 being chips) and then you had salads and chips, but I suppose being all inclusive they have to make cut backs somewhere!!! All in all we would definately go back."

"hotel was kept very clean...
lots of nice people/families who we met...
would recommend people to go all inclusive - easier for drinks/snacks/etc - we were not all inclusive, yet felt it would have been better if we were
on the 2nd wk, there was a huge difference in the atmosphere of the hotel as a new entertainer - leo - was employed, who had great presence and put in lots of effort in making everyone have good time
wish there had been more for our younger son to do (aged2 1/2) - hotel would benefit from a bigger park/kids club"

"The hotel was clean and friendly. The food in the hotel was varied and plentiful, buffet syle breakfast and tea, but at lunch time you ordered what you wanted from the snack menu. Would recomend the steak rolls, they were brill! Would also suggest going for tea before 8 o'clock, the kids disco started at that time, and all the entertainment is in the diningroom, so the noise was a bit loud when trying to have your tea, but we just sat at a table round the corner.
The pool was ok, plenty of sun loungers, but not eough umberellas, and you need one if you go in August. Some of the guests put their towels on the loungers and put the brollies next to them, then went awat to the beach for the day, then came back at tea time. After a couple days we got fly to them, we just took the brollies and the loungers, if we needed them.
We had two rooms, for two families, but the good thing about them, we had connecting doors, so really good if you were in one room and the children in the other. There was table and chairs outside, great for at night. No air condition, just fans in the roof - make sure you have them going the correct way or they are no use to man or beast!!
It was far enough away from all the noise and goings on, but close enough to walk to when and if we wanted to. The beach was lovely, with plenty on it for your day at the beach. Nice ewalk from hotel to the beach, but would recomend getting taxi back, but beware, we did get one taxi, and the driver went mental because there was a small amount of sand on the seat! (when we went to get a taxi a couple of nights later, the same driver was there, but he would not take us in his car, not that I was going to go in it, I would rather walk.)
On the day we were due to fly home, it was a late night flight, but there waas a room to put our cases in, and also there was a male and female toilets upstairs that had a shower and wash hand basin in it as well, so you could washed and changed before you went. Would recommend this if you are unlucky enough to hire your room for an extra day. (£ 20 chare to hire for another day).
Would recommend this hotel for a holiday, as long as you are not to scared of hights, because it is a long way up. Also if you don't like hights, don't go by bus, get a taxi - there is not much difference in price. We would go back, one of the better hotels we have stayed in, value for money."

"Although only 15 min walk down hill to beach and restaurants had to get a taxi back.
Next to no entertainment for adults in hotel - only bingo and karaoke.
Room o.k. but needed a lick of paint.
Arrived early hours in morning and no complimentary water as expected.
Had to ask for kettle next morning.
All staff very nice and friendly and helpful.
Ideal pool for adults and children.
Would go again without 17 year old daughter."

"Hotel was extremely clean, staff all very friendly. Food was ok though variation within the menu in second week would have been good. Entertainment ok though could be improved upon. Great hotel for families."

"Very nice apartments, clean and modern.
Ate in restaurant 2 or 3 times - brekky 5.5 euros and buffet meal evening 10 euros - all very good and good choice. And incl squash etc.
Easy to get sunbeds.
Downside - not near any bars/shops/restaurant etc - all a very steep 15/20 min walk downhill to Amadores beach (and a taxi ride back as walk nearly killed me going up - seriousy)- also if you had kids not much for them to do - teens would def get bored. Overall a cheap good hol and yes I`d recommend it and would go back but prob not with my kids - I`d get somewhere closer to seafront."

"although hotel on top of hill nice walk to great beach and cheap taxi back. pool very busy and a rush for sunbeds but sun from 9 till 8 made it a great place to get a tan. If self catering hotel offers little in way of food as restaurant for all inclusive mainly buffet style. Appartment was very spacous and excellent facilitiesone of the best we have stayed in."

"very clean and well presented. apartments very clean and spacious.
need more umbrellas for sunbeds ."
