"this hotel is excellent value for money for an all inclusive hotel the food was good
it states here that it is a 4 star hotel but on the actual building they say it is a 3 star hotel
the rooms were clean with brilliant white sheets towells etc
right on the beach with good views if you are in the back rooms
noise from trains and partygoers if you are in the front over the main entrance like we were but not to bad
the only problem was the wlls are thin and we could hear the tv etc from next door
which would be noisy if there were teenagers in this hotel
it would probably suit older people and families"

"When we arrived at the hotel we was given a small gloomy room on the front which was noisy and the train was passing. When we booked we requested a sea view room or over looking the pool. We asked for another room at Reception but there was none available. The food was a poor choice and never hot. We had bacon only twice in our seven day stay. They closed the pool bar down for the season and you had to use the main restaurant. On offer was luke warm burgers, chips and sausage for the snacks vert very nice. The hotel is in need of a good clean. The entertainment wasn't up to much either. We have stayed in much better three stars in the past."

"This hotel is in a good location but the food is very poor. Most of the food is cheap frozen food that is just hesated up or deep fried. Very little fresh salad and the meat is the very cheapest cuts."

"The hotel was on the beach, small but friendly, room was very small but clean, food good. My only critisiscm is that all drinks were served in plastic beakers, beer, pop, coffee, everything; which I could understand through the day by the pool but not in the evening and in the dining room! Overall a very nice hotel, only 3 star though not 4 as advertised."

"room to near railway track/got no sleep /drunken people inside hotel banging doors/shouting/outside singing till earley hours, worst hotel me and my fammily have been to .had 12 mosy bites only went for 5 days'came back with little tan but full of red marks ie bites, got droped of 1mile from hotel had to walk under suway ,full of graffiti, dark, thinking what the hell have i come to.night porter had heart attack and died,he was laided out ,outside near bar ,in full view of guests, was not moved till late afternoon, not very nice to wake up to,never go back ,not even if it was free.nightmare, barca was lovely, what a shame hotel was not the same, never go cheap if u want a good nights sleep, sol for me,give it a try wave the rest goodbybe"

"I really enjoyed my staying at Amaraigua Hotel (it is 3 not 4 Star hotel), as same my friends did. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpfull. Weather was perfect, nice beach...
I'm hoping to go back there next year..."

"we was put in the room facing the railway room 122 it smelt like a sewer we were not the only ones that complained about the room and the air condition did not work so leaving the door opened made it worst because of the drunken singers coming out of the clubs so me and my 11 year old daughter never slept the good side was the staff did move us we would go there again if guaranteed a room facing the sea hotel is not 4 star and is in need of a refurbish"

"Very disapointing the two requests we asked for were not available for our party. We had asked for bottom floor due to there being a small child in our party which was not available for us, also we asked for rooms next to each other but somehow managed to be opposite sides of the hotel. considering we booked in January we hoped that at least one of the requests would have beeen available. The staff were polite however, on the back of having to pay extra for taking suitcases when i was under the impression i had payed for when i payed for my holiday. And the drop off which ment just short of a mile walk to the hotel did not put our party in good spirits to start the holiday."

"YOU SELL HOTEL AS A 4 STAR WHEN THE SIGN OUTSIDE CLEARLY SHOWS IT AS BEING A 3 STAR HOTEL AND IT IS DEFINITELY A 3 STAR AT BEST. IF OUR ROOM WAS ANY SMALLER WE WOULD NOT HAVE EVEN GOT A DOUBLE BED IN IT. THE RESTAURNT STAFF WERE VERY GOOD BUT THE FOOD WAS VERY AVERAGE EVEN FOR A 3 STAR HOTEL."

"Whilst the exterior and public areas (including the corridors) of the hotel were to a good or very good standard the room we were allocated was in some need of refurbishment and redecorating. It was much smaller than the one shown in the hotel’s own brochure and was very cramped. If the hotel are in the process or considering redecorating such rooms, might I suggest someone who can use a paint brush? I have seldom seen such a poor standard of painting (e.g. brush marks around door frames, between ceiling and walls etc). The desk/dressing table and the nice large wall mirror behind it both looked new, but were largely obscured by the television set (poor reception on most channels) which, if anything, was too big for the room and there was certainly no need to acquire a remote control from reception. Also, although we had a shower in our room instead of a bath/shower, it would have been nicer if the bathroom fittings had all matched. The bathroom was clean, but looked dated and in need of refurbishment. If you want a shower before dinner then you will either need to have it very early or after the first guests are already in the restaurant, otherwise be prepared for a cold shower, one cup of water at a time.
As far as the hotel food is concerned then the only real complaint would be the lack of choice, partly due to the fact that a number of the dishes on offer at lunch and dinner were aimed more towards children (e.g. French fries, burgers, fish/chicken nuggets etc), limiting the overall choice. This meant that it was sometimes difficult to get a “complete” adult meal. A very mix and match approach to meat/fish dishes and those other dishes that were supposed to be accompanying them, which meant that some meal times were better than others (but a good chance to try eclectic dinning). That said, the food was reasonably hot, was available up until the restaurant closed, and included some very good dishes (lasagne, pasta and beef to name a few).
The hotel staffs (reception and restaurant) were very helpful and friendly (especially the restaurant staff), less so the bar staff.
Overall I cannot say that this is, or every will be, a four star hotel, but with a little work on the rooms etc then I think that this could and indeed should be a very good three star hotel."

"good hotel food excellant ideal for beach, staff friendly"

"not very good entertainment , the snacks are good but the restuarant was mor German & Dutch food and was small. the rooms were o.k. and clean the hotel is located right on the beach. around the pool area not very clean"

"The Hotel is 3 Star as it says on the front of the hotel (and not 4* as TravelReplublic suggests). Having said that, the hotel was clean, convenient and the staff seemed friendly and helpful when asked. I have stayed at other AI hotels around the Costa Brava and found that the entertainment in all of low standards (but that doesn't bother me too much as I tnd to go out on the town and not milk the all inclusive 'cow'). As for the guests, there were lots of people from Holland and Germany who I found to be pleasant - so too the Brits until they were falling about in the corridors at all hours drunk. I have read many reviews on this and other sites as to how unfriendly and helpful the staff are (not just this hotel) in the Costa Brava. If you are rude to them then expect it in return. Summary - Pleasant hotel/ near to beach as it is actually on it - expect rowdy Brits on All Inclusive Frenzies. Ian D. from Leeds"

"The hotel staff went out of there way to make our stay a memorable and more relaxing break than we anticipated. The food was great and the rooms were kept extremely clean and tidy. Hotel situated right on the beach with some views to die for! You have to walk under an underpass when wanting to look around Malgrat and to get to and from your transfers but the underpass is cleaned daily and although graffiti ridden its not at all an unpleasant place to walk even in the evenings."

"Hotel is 3 star not 4 ! Very small hotel ! NOT VERY HAPPY !"

"the only comment i have is the choice of food was very limited, 2 star"

"Hotel and resort absolutely brill. Will be returning for sure."

"Hotel standards were very good , location was absolutely perfect . However the food was disappointing , very random selection of food , far too many chips , sprouts isnt something which I would choose to have for my l
