"The owners were very welcoming despite the fact that they hadn't been notified of my arrival! There was a pomegranate tree right by my window but frustratingly, the remaining fruits were completely inaccessible, despite my best efforts with the broom supplied.
Had a slightly scarey experience in the early hours of my third day there when a man knocked my door asking me to open up as he wanted to talk to me - needless to say I said no and told him to go away (well actually shouted at the top of my voice!). I called the police who came out but were unable to do anything.
The owners were very nice and offered me another room - I've concluded that possibly the guy who called may have made friends with the previous occupant and didn't realise she had departed?"Top Tip:
"The local beach, 5 minutes walk away, is great - mostly oval flat stones rather than sand, (so no gritty underwear) and people have made various sculptures which are quite entertaining.........."Aspres Apartments check-in Date:

"Our appartment was exactly as described. It was clean, basic and functional and served it's purpose well. The air-con was an added bonus that we don't expect"
Top Tip:
"If you walk 20 minutes into the resort of Votsalakia there are two restaurants next to each other which are the best in this resort. The Blue Bucket and the Akrogiali Both very different but offering excellent food and excellent service. The Blue Bucket even has an small creche area for samll children to playin, it offers traditional Greek food thats excellently prepared. The Akrogiali also serves excellentl traditional Greek food as well as wonderful pizzas. The staff at both restaurants remembered us from our first visit in 2000 EIGHT YEARS AGO !"Aspres Apartments check-in Date:

"I stayed at the Aspres apartments and we had a great time, a real relaxing holiday. The family that run the hotel were very friendly and we would stay there again!
You were always guaranteed a sunbed which you don't often find, and we werent getting up till gone 10/11am.
The rooms were ok, what you would expect for a 3* in Greece. You definately will need aircon!
Great for families - maybe not so good for older people without transport. The local supermarket, bars and restaurants was about 400/500m away which doesn't sound far but in the daytime 35+ heat, it was a relief to get there and it is uphill coming back."Top Tip:
"Take extra money for air con. We stayed at Aspres from 26th June for 2 weeks and it costs 7 Euros a day but we couldn't have lived without it.
We booked the transfer taxi through Travel Republic and it cost £108 but when we checked at reception is was 37/38 Euros each way from the airport - something we wish we'd known before.
Nostros restuarant - great food and Staff very accomodating.
Heaven bar - (just past the supermarket) great place for drinks/music - run by an Irish girl and her boyfriend who were lovely! :)

"Excellent service, Alex and Rena are always there but never pushy. No food at apartments but not a problem."

"Aspres is situated about 10 mins walk from the village centre. A small beach is 2 mins walk away (just to make people aware this is a 'get your todger out' type of beach). Votsalakia is a pleasant little village with plenty of Tavernas to choose from. We found the Everything Grilled taverna to be one of the better ones also Anna's which is very close to Aspres. Recommend a car for a least some of your stay. Best beach we found was to the west of Votsalakia and was caled Limnionas, crystal clear water, good food in taverna on beach (yellow house taverna not so good)."

"We were expecting an apartement with separate bedrooms & this had a galleried upstairs with a steep open stair case so was not suitable for our young children. Having said that it was reasonably equipped & kept clean. Had to request cot even though booked originally."

"We had a wonderful holiday, thoroughly enjoyed it and have no complaints. From being picked up promptly at the airport by taxi, to the great hospitality and standard of accomodation at Aspres Apartments on the beautiful island of Samos. Everything was as promised by Travel Republic and Med Hotels, we would definately book through you again."

Apartment Details - Aspres Apartments
The Aspres Apartments are located in the area of Votsalakia, only 150 meters from the beach, 400m from the nearest supermarket and 500m from the resort centre. This cosy family run complex consists of studios and maisonettes.
Accommodation
The studios (2-3 persons) have a combined living/bedroom with 2 or 3 single beds, kitchenette, shower/WC, balcony or terrace. The maisonettes (2-5 persons) have a combined living/bedroom with kitchenette, shower/WC on the ground floor a separated bedroom on the upper floor (no door). Air-conditioning (payable locally) and safe deposit box (payable locally) are also available.
Facilities & Services
Hotel features a large swimming pool with sunbeds and umbrellas and a pool bar with SAT TV. Breakfast possible at extra charge.
