The naturist village of Vera Natura is situated in a privileged location for tourism in the eastern part of Almería. Praised by the ones who know it already, the naturist area of Vera Natura has grown to become an important destination within the European naturist resorts. This unit forms part of the Vera Natura Complex and is one of the numerous different urbanisations that offer their services along the beach with green zone everywhere, swimming pools and heated indoor pools, French bowl course, beach restaurant, massage room on the beach during high season, during low season, massages in the nearby clinic in villaricos (2 km), supermarket, baker, disco pub with Latin music, sun beds, water sport activities, beach volley and beach football. Bahía de Vera is built in a white Andalusia style with warm brown decoration. It is important you please take note that this is part of a naturist complex and therefore it is not suitable for non naturists. On entering this village a sign clearly states that you are entering a naturist area and as such once within the area everyone is naked. It is obligatory for guests booking in the complex to go naked, when in the complex.

Accommodation

Six large apartment lines with sometimes more than thirty modern apartments in each row with one or two bedrooms await you. All apartments are privately owned and as such furnishings differ from apartment to apartment but all have a minimum of facilities. They are furnished with the necessary items for long term and short term holidays for summer and winter time, including cleaning and towel change. The apartments in Bahía de Vera are individually decorated in an Andalusia style. They are furnished with washing machine, a separate fully equipped kitchen with, mini oven, electric coffee machine fridge with freezer and a complete bathroom. The television is connected to the satellite of the community. Each apartment has a terrace. The general cleaning and linen change is once a week, towel change twice a week. Extra cleaning is available to book at the reception at a supplement.

Food & Beverage

The following are communal facilities of the Vera Natura Complex. The restaurant bar “Sol y Luna” (now woth internet connection)is open daily for breakfast with toasts, coffee and more, until dinner time with a nice meal, a good wine and sea view. Lying in the middle of the naturist beach, in front of the Vera Natura urbanization, it offers different menus for all tastes and pockets. The naturist terrace and the small textile part offer fantastic sea views. On the road to the beach and restaurant “Sol y Luna”, next to the Vera Natura unit, you will find a cybercafé and a kiosk with a small terrace which offers ice cream and refreshments, ideal for a stop on the way. This is only open during high season. The complex also offers two beach bars and a pub. The “Sol y Luna” beach bar is the little wooden bar with its wooden terrace always providing a well known meeting point for a refreshing beer until late. The beach restaurant and bar has a section for nude dining. “Tigres” is fashion and was the first beach bar on the naturist beach. As it has only a few tables, it creates a familiar atmosphere. During the summer both of these are open every day. Nearby the Latin bar “Azúcar”, which was inaugurated in December 2004, invites you to dance to Latin rhythm and to party all night long in tropical atmosphere. It is situated below reception and opens at 22:00. Beside Bahía de Vera, olnly a few meters to walk, is the restaurant Mayo 2004 open from breakfirst untl late dinner time with italian and typical spanish gastronomy.

Sport & Leisure

The unit has its own swimming pools. If you stroll along the naturist beach you will find different offers on sun bed hire with reasonable net-rates and friendly service. You will find “Guiseppe” on the south part with approximately forty sun beds. “Trevor” is with his sun beds right in front of Vera Natura complex and has expanded his service on renting out water sport facilities. “Tigres” hires sun beds in front of the beach bar, close to the Hotel Vera Playa. In the middle of the naturist beach close to the beach bar “Sol y Luna”, you will find a pedal boat hire and other water sport possibilities for everyone as well as surf boards and the opportunity to rent a little yacht for naturist excursions. A massage tent is open on the beach, Shiatsu and anti-stress massages will guaranty a good relaxation (only during high season). During the quiet time of the year an English speaking physio-therapist will attend you in her clinic Villaricos or come to Vera Natura massage room. (only with previous appointment).

“Playazo de Vera” Beach

This is one of the oldest and longest naturist beaches in Spain. The exclusive use of naturism goes over a length of three kilometre and changes then slowly into textile. All Spanish beaches in Spain allow naturism, but one should not forget that it is important to consider the different mentality of the habitants and respect their way of living. In April, when the temperature rises, the number of naturist visitors grows as well. But most visitors stay during the high season in June, July and August. But it is possible to enjoy a relaxing sun bath on the beach until the end of October. We dare to say that our summer lasts for seven month. On the wide natural beach you find fine sandy parts, and pebble beside the shore, ideal for a barefoot walk ashore. It doesn’t matter if you want to cheer up after breakfast or open up your appetite before dinner in the afternoon sun, you will always be in good company. But if you want to walk on a nearly lonely beach, to enjoy the natural impression, then you must go early in the morning or at the time of sunset. Showers and toilets ensure the sanitary support and during high season life guards watch over the security.

Facilities & Services

It is obligatory for guests to be nude around the pool and gardens. Guests are expected to cover up in the supermarket and reception area. There is a central reception service in the Vera Natura Apartments for all complexes that form the Vera Natura Complex. The tastefully designed and well-tended garden area with heated indoor and outdoor swimming pool, the petanca court and the small tennis court offer good diversion. There are also a paddling pool within the outdoor pool and a small play ground for children. The communal supermarket and baker are open daily during the high season. It provides you with fresh bread, cake refreshments, wines, spirits, fresh fruit, soaps, washing powder and everything else you need at a reasonable price. On the road to the beach and restaurant “Sol y Luna”, next to the Vera Natura unit, you will find a kiosk with internet connection, sweets, pastry, bread, coffee and refreshments. In the laundry the complex can wash, dry and iron your clothes in 24 hours if you wish so (extra charge applies). For your convenience a partially covered parking area is also provided. Above only the facilities within the naturist area are mentioned; you will find a larger selection nearby, like bars, real estate agents, souvenir shops and so on. You will find several public phone boxes within the naturist zone. One is in front of the Vera Natura reception. Another one is by the office of the complex Natsun. The closest cash dispenser is in Puerto Rey about 2 km distance on the main road or in the nearby village Palomares. The reception accepts most of the credit cards. Most of the restaurants, shops and big supermarkets (minimum charge) accept credit cards.

Useful Information on Distances

The urbanisation is only a few minutes from the large naturist beach and lying next to La Menara only a few meters form the supermarket within the naturist zone. The distance from Almería airport to Vera Natura is about 90 km (an one hour drive). There are some car rental companies at Almería airport. On weekdays an airport bus is running every half an hour from 07:00 until 22:50 from the airport to the bus station in Almería. On bank holidays, the bus goes every half an hour between 07:20 and 21:50. From the station in Almería there is a regular bus service to the bus station in Vera. The bus station is about 10 km from the naturist village Vera Natura. You can find a taxi both at the airport in Vera and at the bus station in Almeria and Vera.
