Check-in Date: 20/Feb/2010

The hotel was excellent in all aspects. The a la carte restaurants in particular were superb, we used the Mexican, Asian and Italian, and were very impressed with them all. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We liked the help yourself bar for wines and spirits, which we had not seen before in other all inclusive hotels. The adults only infinity pool was suitable for those who like a quiet time, but the main pools are great for families and those who enjoy participating in the animation activities.

Top Tip A nice wee bar at the bottom of the street on the u-bend, overlooking the sea and with a great view of La Gomera. Very reasonable too - 4.40 euros for a pint of lager and a glass of wine.

Could not fault anything, the hotel was clean, plenty going on if you wanted to join in, lovely pool and fresh food which was yum. Evening entertainment not that good but didn't bother us. Really recommend this hotel.

The 2 hotels on this complex are wonderful, the attention to clendliness is great. An all inclusive paradise, a free bus goes daily to the main centres so you don't have to be too isolated. The food is 100% and the staff are great.

Top Tip If you get a connection from the airport do not get the shuttle bus it is a 51 seater waits an hour for all the passengers and then deliveres them in small numbers to all hotels from next to the airport right to los gigantees. Our flight landed at 1pm and at 5.15 we were at El Duque the sun was down, we took our cases of the bus and got a taxi. I thought I would not live long enough to get my holiday.

The reception staff were unhelpful as we had a room without a sea-view despite having booked one. They said that Travel Republic would not have charged us extra for a sea-view as only Thomsons did this. It was very frustrating!

Really enjoyed holiday, the only issue was I requested a pool view and although the hotel wasn't busy I wasn't given a room with a pool view.

Top Tip The complex is very remote, but i was more than happy with the facilities and restaurants on offer that I didn't want to go elsewhere.

Hotel is gorgeous and the serve yourself bar idea is genius! No waiting or queing and make your drinks as strong as you like!
Beautiful infinity pool overlooking the sea but the water was very cold - brace yourself for that one! we went in october half term and at 7.30am there were no sunbeds left!! however, if you ask one of the many helpful staff they will always find you some from somewhere. It's not the hotels fault, its the crazy people who get up at stupid o'clock to put there towels down and you don't see them till lunch!
if you want peace and quiet go to the infinity pool by the sea as the sports and games takes place at the central pool.
The food was good on the buffet but make sure you go to the restaurants as much as you can. We visited the mexican and chinese and they were brilliant. So much choice and so delicious! Waiters are fantastic as well.
Snack bar was convenient by the infinity pool but food not that great and not much choice plus people feed the local cats and they roam round which I didn't like.
Rooms were nice, typical spanish style but clean. bathrooms had jack & jill sinks and toilet & bidet which were behind saloon swing doors (bit dangerous after a session at the serve yourself bar!)

the main problem i had with the resort was the commercial centre which was blatantly part of the hotel. it had a disco, karaoke/sports bar, entertainment in the square and selection of souvenir type shops but you had to pay for the drinks there! and as there was very little entertainment in hotel itself it felt like you were being ripped off espacially as any local nightlife was a good taxi ride away.

Top Tip Siam park is a must!! Don't really like water parks but have been converted. It is amazing. The wave pool and the dragon are out of this world.
It is expensive at 28 euros but well worth it. Make sure you take a packed lunch tho if you can. food is expensive and not the best choice.

Great holiday, great value. 3rd time I have visited and the only complaint is that we book a junior suite and on the last 2 occasions they have put us in a large double with 2 extra beds for the children and tried to convince us that it was a junior suite. I knew it wasn't as I had been before and after complaining we were moved on the 3rd day. This should not happen. If you book a certain room you should be given it on arrival and not have to complain and have the upheaval of re packing and moving. This appears to be common paractice by the hotel as we met a family on our last visit and exactly the same happened to them.

This was a fantastic hotel! The apartment we had was very spaceous, clean and had all the facilities we needed. All the staff (from reception, to maids and restaurant staff) were friendly and deperate to make our holiday the best possible. We would recommend it to anyone and will certainly be back again ourselves.

Top Tip No top tips for outside the hotel! Since the hotel facilities were so good, we didn't leave the Bahia resort! A very relaxing and enjojable break....

Excellent hotel, and spotlessly clean. Great for a week of rest and relaxation, but if you're looking for a more active holiday that's close to the beach, shops and nightlife, then this is not the one for you. There are plenty of sunbeds, however you still had to get up practically at dawn if you wanted an umbrella - there is a serious shortage of them at this hotel. We still had a lovely holiday, and would definately recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a week away from it all.

This is a superb hotel, the food is excellent, it is kept spotlessly clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Playa Paraiso is fairly quiet and a bit out of the way but is a short bus or taxi ride from Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos where there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Highly recommended.

My wife and I have just returned from 1 week at the Bahia Principe - Costa Adeje, which was our first experience of an all-inclusive holiday.
A 7 night stay entitles you to 3 meals in any of the 4 restaraunts, with the remainder of your meals taken in the buffet bar.
If like us you are new to this type of holiday you might wonder what all the people are queuing for first thing next morning, it was only later that we found out this was the queue to book your restaraunt slots, by which time the choice was limited.
Queuing and pre- booking appear to be standard practice at the Bahia Principe as we were to find out as the week progressed.
The hotel is remote which could be a disappointment if you enjoy a stroll through the shops/markets.
To counteract this the hotel does provide a free bus which runs every day either to Torviscus or Los Christianos depending on the schedule, but you have to book in advance!
We were scolded for turning up approx 10 mins before it was due to leave and asking if we could get a seat, because we hadn't booked in advance.
So the following day[Tues] I went to book 2 seats for the Thursday and was scolded again for trying to book too early.
Obviously there is a right time to book this service I just never found it.
We took our 3 restaurant meals in the Italian, Asian and Mexican restaurants and found all 3 to be very enjoyable, if there are any courses/dishes that you particulaly like- happy days- because you will probably see them again at the buffet next day.
On our last day we checked out at 12.00 as instructed and asked at reception if there was anywhere we could place our luggage until our pick-up at 17.30.
There is a luggage room but guess what we hadn't booked our slot for 2 cases so we had to sit with them in the lobby for the rest of the day.

Overall, I found the grounds and pool areas to be well maintained and our room spotlessly clean, although nothing special given that it was a junior suite.
The minibar was a bit of a let down- 1 x 1.5 litre water, 1 x can of beer and 3 x can of soft drinks.

If you enjoyed Benidorm- the tv programme not the resort in mainland Spain then Bahia Principe may be just what you are looking for, I prefer a certain amount of flexibility and a less regimented approach to my holidays.
I just left with the impression that they prefer you to holiday according to their schedule and if you could take your 3 restaraunt meals on the same night that would certainly help them.

Top Tip Too remote to uncover any hidden gems.

I couldnt fault the Hotel the staff was very friendly and the service was excellent it was very clean and tidy the swimming pools was clean and unbeliveable. There was a beech near by if anyone did want a change. I am not sure if anyone who was disabled would have managed with the stairs although there was plenty of lifts, there was a few guest who were disabled. The food was verried and if anyone said they were not happy would have been really fussy. There were familes staying at the hotel and all seamed to be happy. The hotel had trips to verious parts of the island but I do belive the were commits of them been expensive when paying for a family. The only disapointing point I could say was there was no English paperback books to buy. Could do with a swap libary. Would recommed and would go again even though I would be on my own .

Top Tip Hired a car from a shop near the Hotel a lot cheaper than the hotel

The hotel was excellent for food - buffet had an excellent choice and the various stand-alone restaurants were very good.
The place over-all was very well maintained especially the grounds which are beautiful (excluding the gym , see below).
The entertainment was a bit poor and teenagers / young adults were at a loose end in the evenings.
The hotel gym was very, very poor considering the quality of the rest of the package. no running machine and some very poorly maintained cycle machines does not constitute a gym.
