"A pleasant hotel with nice pool but little else to do on site. Narest beach is good 10/15 min walkbut there is a useful shuttle to a much larger beach (Gale) a 5 minute drive way
The shuttle to Albufeira in teh evening left a little to early for us but the town is only 6euro, 10 minute taxi ride away"

"Overall we had a really enjoyable stay at the Baia Grande. The hotel is situated approx 5 mins drive from the centre of Albufiera old town but the hotel runs a free shuttle bus to and from Albufiera 3 times per day (no shuttle back hwver after 4.10pm). The rooms, pool, staff service and breakfast buffet (we stopped B&B) are of a very high standard allthough the evening meals if you wish to add them are expensive, as is the food from the poolside bar. Overall though an excelent hotel, one of the very best we have stopped in."

"This is a lovely hotel though being just outside the main town the restaurants and evening entertainment are limited. car rental is advised. close to numerous beaches that should ALL be visited. The hotel is located in a small area just outside Albufiera and as such is largely unspoiled by tourism adding to the charm of the area. though with this the 'entertainment' is limited. the hotel puts on good entertainment in the evenings however if you are looking to party the night away this may not be the hotel or location for you."

"The Baia Grande is fantastic. It is the second time my partner and I have been in two years. The staff are very helpful and friendly and yet remain very professional. The rooms are a great size and are of high standard. The pool and outside areas are lovely. The breakfast room could do with being a little larger as many people were having to que in a morning. The Hotel put on a bus to the centre of Albufeira but I would reccommend hiring a car to see more of the Algarve."

"A first class hotel of what we regard as being ideal size. Clean throughout and all areas kept to high standards. There was a good mixture of ages and all seemed to be having agreat time. Staff were very efficient and friendly without being intrusive. Certainly planning on going back at some time"

"cannot fault the hotel."

"i wasnt impressed with the hotel at all. its definatley not 4 star.we had to pay to order a taxi. which sometimes we couldnt even get or had to wait half an hour, espacially in the eve.the staff looked like they didnt want to be there, not freindly at all,nor do they smile, nor are they helpful. Happyhour was like misery hour, it felt like we were in a library!! plus the pool bar shuts at six, so we then had to go inside, which the air con was broken?? you cant change money there,so unless you got it the night before we had a 30min walk to the cash machine. the hotel has nothing nearby, the nearest beach 10/15min walk, and unless u are quite fit to walk back up the hill, isnt ideal for elderly or families. wouldnt go again nor would i reccommend"

"Lovely hotel - food a bit same every night.
Entertainment a bit boring - guitar, saxophone, piano evening.
To get into town yhou have to get a taxi."

"Excellent small hotel with friendly helpfull staff.
Ideal for a quiet relaxing holiday which suited us but may not suit everyone."

"It's so nice and quiet hotel and the staff is also very nice and helpful.I would stay the any time and recomendet to everybody"

"Excellent holiday - hotel was first class. Would definately recommend it to others - in fact we are seriously thinking of going back there again next year. The staff were extremely helpful and spoke fluent English - as well as French, German and Portugese.
Facilities were first class and food was very good - although the puddings did not change much over the week."

"Beautiful hotel, very comfortable and staff very helpful. In a quiet location but cortesy bus useful for trips into Albufeira old town. Return taxi's cost approx 6 Euros.
Although they have a games room, there are no pool/snooker tables or chess sets. Only entertainment for youngsters was outdoor table tennis."

"Hotel too quiet."

"As a frequent visitor to the area, I would recommend the Baia Grande to anyone. The hotel staff are helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean ,comfortable and spacious and the food is adequete. The only negatives would be that out of season the outside pool is too cold as it isn't heated, and that depending on the position of your room, when the hotel entertainment is in full swing don't plan on having an early night unless you've packed earplugs !!"

"Comfortable rooms. Efficient, helpfull and pleasant staff at reception"

"Nice clean well staffed hotel"

"Breakfast was a little short of staff, and making a hot drink was regularly difficult due to no cups or the machine ran out of water.
Other than this the Hotel was as good as usual. with friendly staff and a pleasant relaxing atmosphere.
Will certainly go again"

"Wonderful hotel, 4th visit , Hotel is out of town in loveley setting walking distance to nice beach with restaurant, a few local places to eat O'Marinheiro (think the spelling ok ) food Superb Hotel has coutesey Bus to the local Town of Albufriera about 8 min away and back about 4 times a day (but taxi even late at night is only 6 euros) Bus also goes to local beautiful beach Gala and back 3 times a day hotel staff great happy hour by pool 11.00 till 12.00 and 5.00. til 6.00 and then in hotel 6.00 til 7.00......................Wow this is also in early Oct weather has been great the last 4 years ."

"Very relaxing atmosphere, exceptionally clean and food excellent. 4 happy hours during the day! Pool area superb. Local beaches nearby within twenty minutes walk. Best one was San Rafael but hotel runs a free shuttle bus to bigger beach if you don't fancy the walk."

"Great time again. Second time this year.
Lovely food at breakfast, great pool bar with half price happy hours and good food"

"Delightful, spatial hotel with good facilities, food and a quality staff team.
Pool area and poolside bar/restaurant are wonderful.
No complaints - back again asap!"

"Not close to local ammenities. Required a taxi each night to get into town. Very limited resturants within walking distance"

"Very friendly staff, with a nice pool area. Taxi ride was only 5 euros to the centre of Albufiera so it was nice to be a bit away from all the night life. A hotel bus was also available which took us in to the centre at specific times."

"We stayed in this hotel the year it was opened. It is still imaculate and well maintained in 2007. Staff were freindly and polite. Ind
