"Botanico was an excellent hotel ,enormous breakfasts with cook to order omlette station ,bar and meals a bit pricey but plenty of cheaper local bars and restaurants.
Spa was excellent and was child free zone good for dull or rainy days."Top Tip:

"Excellent all round. Could not be faulted. Good position next to the Botanical gardens. A beautiful well kept hotel. Room was lovely- great sea view from the balcony and large picture windows gave fab views of the mountains (3rd floor - sea view roomwas requested). Staff - all attentive and polite.
The spa was amazing - gorgeous, tranquil, luxurious and no extra cost unless treatments were wanted! Free yoga and tai chi, and use of the thermal circuit which consisted of 8 different rooms (including an ice room). Also there were free waterbeds,an indoor pool and jacuzzi; an outdoor pool and thermal beds as well as a jacuzzi in a cave!! Under 16 year olds not allowed in the spa which suited us! Plenty of comfy sun loungers and lots of towells changed frequently. lovely lanterns,flowers, candles,bowls of apples and free hot herbal drinks............... we left the spa feeling pampered and well looked after. Breakfast - the best we have experienced in any hotel anywhere......including cava/ everything you could think of to eat/a chef to cook extras.....all beautifully presented. Only 2 of the three restaurants open any one night. we ate in the italian- outdoors which was good"Top Tip:

"Excellent traditionally styled Hotel with fantastic botanical gardens. Friendly staff and spacious public areas.
The Spa facilities are amazing both for facilities available and treatment options.
The Hotel has several dining options and a very diverse buffet breakfast.
Often used by both the Spanish and Thai Royal families - what more can you say."Top Tip:
"La Rosa Di Bari authentic Italian Restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz has top class food and wines in a converted old house. A visit here is a must.

"The Botanico is a classy and luxurious hotel. This was our first visit, but we met many regulars. The highlight is breakfast in the garden, by the pool. The three restaurants all have beautiful decor and table-setting, but we were slightly disappointed with the food - e.g. same sauce/gravy on lamb, duck and calf's liver!"
Top Tip:
"Do walk across the road and visit the walled botanic garden - our best value 3 Euros.

"Probably the best holiday hotel we have ever stayed in.Staff were excellent. The three restaurants were excellent. The rooms were faultless, the beds really comfortable. The evening entertainment was low key but of the highest standard. The swiming pools were really warm and the Spa was fantastic."

"The hotel was all you would expect of a 5 star establishment. We tried all three of the restaurants for evenings meals, all of which were outstanding and not that expensive. My only criticism was the service and attention to detail at breakfast which tended to range from the slapdash to the poor. After 3 days of our stay obviously the hotel had had complaints and a supervisor was introduced and service was really good, however the following day no supervisor and the service returned to the mundane - not what I would have expected"

Hotel Details - Botanico Hotel
Hotel Botanico is one of the most prestigious and traditional hotels on the Canary Islands, offering an elegant and tranquil atmosphere. The hotel is situated in Puerto de la Cruz and it is surrounded by more than 25.000 sqm. of magnificent landscaped gardens. All rooms enjoy extraordinary views of the Atlantic Ocean or the Orotava Valley and Mount Teide. The picturesque town centre and beautiful volcanic beaches are only a few minutes away. Hotel guests of 16 years and over enjoy daily free access to the Thermal Circuit in The Oriental Spa Garden (3.500 sqm) and to the hotel's fitness facilities. Guests can choose from a variety of four a-la-carte restaurants, while three heated swimming pools, two inside The Oriental Spa Garden (min. age 16), offer delightful refreshment. Guests may also freely enjoy the floodlit tennis courts or the hotel's golf putting green (5.000 sqm). During summer months the entertaining and educational Botanico Adventure Academy programme, including live animal shows, is organised for children between 4-12 years in co-operation with Loro Parque. Its distance from the Tenerife North airport is approximately 26 km.
