"This was our second stay at this hotel and it was again a fantastic holiday, hotel had even improved from our last stay in February. Staff are brilliant, they are extremely friendly and always have time for you. The food isn't amazing but they have a good range and so there was always something nice to eat, even for fussy eaters. The cleanliness of the hotel is at a very high standard, rooms are left spotless every day after cleaning. The only downside was the evening entertainment as there isn't much to do at night in the hotel though there is loads to do during the day. This is a brilliant place for snorkelling, we went in the water every day after buying a snorkel. Overall a brilliant holiday and would go back tomorrow."

"We went for sunshine & relaxation and that is exactly what we got. The hotel is at the end of the strip so not suitable if you want to go into Sharm often - we didn't so not a problem for us. Some of the negative comments made by previous reviewers of this hotel are, I think, unfair. Yes, parts of the hotel look at if they have been thrown up rather fast and thus the finsh is a bit rough at the edges, but really not a problem in such a benign climate. 30 degrees plus every day and a lovely warm breeze. No wasps or mozzies, just a few flies. We had an enormous room by the heated pool . Balcony overlooked the building work on new hotels/flats , but look to left & right and you see mountains one way and the sea the other. We actually found it quite interesting to watch the builders at work , but there was a lot of work going on within the hotel itself during the day. This was not a great problem to us and, as dusk was about 5pm, they didn't go on into the evening , but I imagine it would be a pain if it was going on right on top of you.
Eveything was very clean, including the restaurants.Yes the food is not what you get in UK or Spain but no-one should expect it to be. You are in a moslem country so forget pork and the full english breakfast. There have been food riots in parts of egypt so spare a thought for this fact before you start moaning about the food. There is plenty of variety and unlimited quantity, if you scour all the different parts of the restaurant before you make your choice you should find something you like. We particularly liked the more eygptian food, which seems to be served in the smaller , third section of the buffet restaurant at night. And the warm croissants at breakfast were lovely. There was a basic choice of drinks - so forget malibu or baileys, but the beer, wine and spirits were perfectly palatable there was no stinginess or restrictions (up until midnight) and no watering down of drinks which you get in many all-inclusive hotels. There were a few cocktails on the all-inclusive too, which I guzzled to my hearts content. We gave out £1 coins as tips at the start and throughout the holiday, which were gratefully received by the many staff and we got a good service from the vast majority of them. Lots of russians in the hotel who did push in a bit and took staggering quantities of food on board, but they were not unfriendly and there was no drunkenness and glass smashing by them or by low-life Brits when we were there. Paid £20 each for a half-hour back massage at the hotel spa which I can recommend as a special treat. Beach lovely and fish fabulous though the water was shallow and not a lot of coral where we were."

"AT THE MOMENT HOTEL IS HAVING A LOT OF WORK DONE AS HOTEL IS GETTING WORN OUT AS OVER 5 YEARS OLD AND WAS IN NEED OF IT THEY ARE PUTTING 3 FLOOR ON WHOLE OF HOTEL I GOT MOVED 3 TIMES IN A WEEK , I VE BEEN TO THIS HOTEL BEFORE AND THEY ARE TRYING HARD WITH THE FOOD BUT STILL A LONG WAY TO GO BUT ALL HOTELS IN EGYPT ARE THE SAME , THE STAFF MAKE THIS HOTEL 5 STAR NOT HOTEL AT THE MOMENT HOPE THIS HELPS ANY ONE"

"It's advertised as 5* but it's well below that category. I travel around 50 countries and resorts in Mexico, Cuba, Turkey, Spain, etc and this one was the worst experience ever. Food is crap! if you choose things outside your "all inclusive" is more expensive than prices in Europe. 11 Euros for 1 hour of internet??? Return taxi to Sharm el Sheikh 25 british pounds?? The people at the reception were really rude! the resort it\s far away from everywhere. And defenetly not a 5 stars! And defenetly Sharm el Sheikh is just a tourist trap! no swimming beaches, no coral reef as it's already demaged, artificial sand on the beach and many other things..."

"would definately return to this Hotel, but had a couple of issues during our stay.
we had booked a family room for the 6 of us and on arrival they tried to give us 2 seperate rooms not ajoining. we got the room changed the day after but it still was not the family room we had booked but still a nice room just not quite big enough for 6.
we booked trips with our XL rep, the first 1 being to Cairo whic we was informed it was a 5 1/2 hours trip which it was actually 8 1/2 hours. Altogether 6 hours more travelling not good.
will definately be using Travel republic again and will recommend to all we know. many thanks to you all at Travel Republic."

"Excellent and still improving - been there 5 times now and will be going back"

"The service we recieved from beginning to end was fantastic. This was our first trip to Egypt and were concerned by some reviews stating that the staff could be unfriendly. We found them all to be excellent. The choice of food was massive and well prepared (although not to everybodies tastes) but you find the same problem anywhere in the world. The rooms were spacious and clean. I honestly cannot fault this hotel."

"a good well run hotel with great staff, right on the beach
good range of various foods available, a masive main swimming pool that was very clean and tidy we stayed in two rooms on the left had side of the complex there was some building work going on above us be it didnt bother us the rooms were large although a little dated but very clean . the holiday was a good allround , this is are third time in egypt and not the last great people wheather and food"

"Booked 7 days before and all went like clockwork. Had no problems with the hotel which was very clean and all staff very friendly. Food was a bit repetitive but we only stayed seven nights, but there was always something to choose due to the large variety and always a fresh pasta dish or barbeque food cooked in front of you, so teenagers survived! Always plenty of snacks around, including pancakes, cakes and even freshly made popcorn for the kids in the evening. Entertainment was poor at night but pretty much standard for Egypt.
Pools were the cleanest i have ever seen and no cracked tiles so safe for kids.
Snorkelling was limited at the beach but a ten minute walk to the bay down the beach to the left provided good access and good snorkelling in calm waters, but better late in the day around 7 as it was cooler for the walk and a larger variety of fish could be seen.
Had no hassle from anyone to go on trips etc and thoroughly enjoyed the holiday so yes would not hesitate to go back but if you want nightlife and to go into Sharm itself it is a good 20 mins taxi drive away but plenty outside the hotel.
Temperature never dropped below 90 degrees at night so be warned it's hot at this time of year! (but nice!!)"

"The hotel was kept very clean and our room towels were changed every day. Food was ok and there was enough variety to satisfy most people. The spirits at the bar are a bit limited in variety but the beer is very good. Staff are very friendly and helpful and my children loved the Animation Team. We loved this hotel and will be booking for next year."

"had a fantastic stay in this hotel. room was large with a sea view, very clean and tidy resort and the staff are fantastic. would highly recomend this holiday for people who want to chill out and relax. We thought the beach was great and you could always get a sunbed there. although you might want to buy some wetsuit shoes as it is sharp under foot but you can pick these up for a few pound (english). brilliant snorklin and the pier helps and is for the guests of the hotel only. we didnt have any problems with any bugs and the food was great. always something to choose from and often very fresh. hope you enjoy it"

"The hotel was fantastic!! The sea was amazing!! There was so much food on offer for AI we couldnt try everything!! Would go back tomorrow :)"

"The Royal Albatros Moderna was a beautiful Hotel, with excellent ammenities and very friendly staff.
My Boyfriend and I (Both 20) Had a fantastic time in Egypt, mainly due to the high standards within the hotel.
I Highl;y recommend this to others."

"Excellent holiday e]xcellent Hotel"

"The bedroom was very specious, staffs were very helpful. Remember to tip the housekeeping staff when they're cleaning your room, even just LE 20 pounds (GBP £2) would make them very happy, our room was spotless everday, fresh towels & 2-3 bottles of water daily. Overall we enjoyed our stay in Royal Albatros, however the only downside was the food, many choices but tasteless. First couple of days were ok, but we got kinda tired of all same taste ans smell.
The hotel has it's private jetty only for their guests, you can snorkell there."

"When we arrived at Egypt - our mini-bus(just like a camper caravan)arrived but we had 14 people in it suitcase on top of inside it was a shamble - Our first hotel room was with a shared balcony - entertainment was bad only animation team doing everything (catered for children) also felt they did far too much they never ever seem to stop - As it was my birthday found this hotel was miles away from anything - so could not celebrate it - taxi from hotel very expensive to get anywhere cost about £20 round trip. Beach was nearby very shingly not as nice other hotels nearby - I would class this hotel as a 3 to 4 star not 5 star - only advantage was when we were moved we had a hairdrier - and bunk beds as well - mostly germans and russians (just like the animation team) overall felt this holdiay was not good vaule for the money as have stayed in far better - but we did meet some lovely people - but was ill for about 4 days ."

"second time at this hotel, had an absolutely fabulous time, everybody at this hotel couldn't do enough for you."

"Staff are very friendly and made us feel welcome. It's the 2nd time we have been back to Royal Albatros Moderna and loved it again! The only downside was how rude the Russians (in general) were to the staff and other guests but you soon get over it and learn to ignore it. Hi to Mohammad and Bob in the bars and Red Hat in the restaurant."
