"the staff could have smile a bit more"

"Cleaners made a lot of noise in the morning from 7:am onwards. I don't think they liked you having a lie in.
Other than that no complaints. great value for money."

"Firstley it was not a 3*hotel it was 2* appart from that it was ok for the money we paid The staff were nice and the hotel was very clean. The downfalls were you got no sun at all and the pool was shaded, not even a sun bed out.The food was what to be excpected for the *rating not very good at all,but appart from that we had a good holiday, flights on time and brilliant weather.Would we stay there again probably not.I must say the reception new we were on an earley morning flight, and did us a picnic bag to eat at the airport which was much appriciated."

"The hotel is a 2 star and not a 3 star as stated, very clean throughout, but food is very limited in choice especially for English people, although we had paid for half board we ate out most nights.
Don't expect a good nights sleep ! we had what sounded like an industrial washing machine above our room (607)that started up at 8 am every morning, also walls very thin so a lot of noise from other rooms.
Hotel is very Spanish Biased, sometimes you felt you were intruding !!
Reception staff could have been a bit more welcoming (especially to English guests !!
Occasional smells of sewage in rooms and cigarette smoke in corridors.
Would not go back."

"We normally pay to stay in 4 * so I was very apprehensive about staying in a 2* I need not have been, it obviously isn't the ritz (as we didn't pay ritz prices) however for a basic 2* hotel. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and the change of towels every day, there is not a great variety in the food however I thought the quality was good. (in fairness to the hotel my husband ate more at this hotel than he normally does, most probably because he didn't have a lot to choose from). The only downfall to the hotel is the unfriendliness of the staff (apart from the cleaners) they act as if they are doing you a favour for being there and not the other way round. It is close to town (but up rather a steep incline) 5 minute walk to beach and ten minutes back. Drinks no dearer in hotel than in some bars however check your change."

"THE ROOM SMELT OF FISH THROUGHOUT OUR STAY, I DONT KNOW WHERE THIS SMELL WAS COMING FROM, BUT HAVING SPOKEN TO A FEW OTHER PEOPLE THEY SAID THERE ROOMS ALSO SMELT OF FISH, THE ROOMS WERE CLEAN, FRESH TOWELS DAILY,ALSO THE TV WAS ALL SPANISH, YOU WOULD HAVE EXPECTED THESE DAYS, AT LEAST ONE CHANEL WOULD HAVE BEEN IN ENGLISH EVEN IF IT WAS JUST THE NEWS.
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL BUT PLEASE TAKE PLENTY OF AIR FRESHNERS WITH YOU."

"Good value hotel under £15 pp/ night.
Can't fault the hotel on cleaniness. The rooms were ok.
Left my gold watch in the wardrobe when i came home.
My sister picked it up from reception two days later .Extra points to the maid."

"Only one lift so at peak times you are better off walking but is has six flights, but for the price the food was good."

"Vert good value for money."

"I am sure the hotel would have been good ? but i didnt get there due to the collapse of XL Airlines and could not afford the price of another flight due to the high demand and high prices other Airlines wanted to charge me
I have tried to contact you by phone and e mail from the 12th of September to see what was happening tried to cancel my Hotel and how to get my money back but my e mails were returned and could never get through on the phone
Now that things have settled down can someone please advise me on what steps i need to take to have my money returned to me
My contact number is 07921109721"

"Hotel is advertised as 3 star but is actually only 2 star. The hotel is basic but clean. We booked b&b but only had breakfast once which was one time too many. The reception staff are not very friendly - barely mke eye contact with you when you speak to them.
As far as I could see the pool area is in the shade all day, so there are no sun loungers at all. so if you like lying by the pool all day this is definately not the hotel for you. That aside if like us you are just looking for a base and don't spend much time at your hotel, then the hotel is close to the beach and the old town and considering what we paid was good value for money."

"The hotel was very clean and friendly, suitable for young people. FAood was awful no variety no labels on what things were was very basic and minimal."

"The hotel was located in the centre of the old town, but close enough to several beaches to allow for a bit of choice which is handy if you have young children, less walking and more time on the sand to keep the young ones entertained. The hotel itself was well maintained and the staff were friendly, although remember this is a small hotel that is very popular with Spanish guests- so do not expect this to be a lively hotel "as its not" and the only entertainment was organ music several times a week. Which was fine by me, as this hotel was going to only be used as a base for other activities, if however you generally enjoy spending most of the holiday time in the hotel "this could dissapoint" finally value for money, cannot complain as it is a two star hotel and was happy with the level of service for a relatively small outlay in comparison to some larger hotels in the new town."

"Firstly, this is NOT a 3 star hotel and doesn't pretend to be. It is a 2 star hotel in the old part of Benidorm. The layout is such that there are no decent views from any rooms - you either have internal courtyard rooms, or external over the pool, but the pool is so small as to be negligible and even in late August could not possibly have got any sunlight. So is frankly, un-useable. In fact you have a better view of the garage across the road than the pool. The rooms are also quite poor. They are very small, the bathrooms are appalling. It is not possible to bath anyone over 5 years old in the bath and often the smell of drains was overpowering. Due to the layout of the hotel privacy is often an issue as no matter what room you are in you have great views of several other rooms and balconies. My daughter opened her curtains (internal room) to find the lady next door on her balcony resting her head against my daughters window, such was the layout.
But in saying that. We knew we were going on a cheap and cheerful holiday. The staff were really lovely. The room was cleaned every single day. The food was pretty good considering the star status of the hotel. It was very Spanish, but then what would you expect in the old town. There was loads of food, and the quality was pretty good, but not a huge selection of choice. The bar was pretty cheap.
However, we had two teenagers with us, so were having to go out every day to entertain them, and we spent a lot of time walking up to the new town to do so. In hindsight, we should have spent the extra and had nearby entertainment for them. It would have ended up saving money.
Advantages: its central to just about everywhere. Its cheap, The staff are fun, and the food is manageable. The airconditioning was a real plus. And it cost us very little to extend the room to leave at 10 pm
Disadvantages. Max 3 in a lift and only one in the hotel. So being able to run up and down several flights of stairs a big advantage. No fridges in rooms a huge disadvantage if you have young children needing milk kept cool etc. The pool is a no go. Our bed was about 2 foot from the corridor and you can hear every word being said. Likewise, you could hear everything in next doors bathroom. made for broken sleep on several occasions. We never stayed for the entertainment so have no idea what it was like.
But we did have a good holiday. It wasn't so bad that it was spoiled, but I would not recommend this holiday for a romantic break, if you have young children, or if you have any problems with mobility. But if you are mainly adults and want a cheap and cheerful break somewhere hot and lively thats cheap to eat, drink and near a beach it would be ideal."

"not a lot of choice in the restaurant but the food was ok. You get what you pay for ,when booking remember this is only a 2 star hotel. The room was clean with clean towels every day.
I enjoyed the food but other british guests were complaining. If you want better quality you have to book 3 or 4 star hotels!!!.
I have been to Benidorm many times and stayed in better hotels but you only get what you pay for and this hotel was fantastic value for money £22 a night full board in the height of the season over bank holiday in August."

"Not suitable for families with young children as the pool is too deep and older children / young adults take over.
Suitable for younger people due to the location.
Suitable for older people as quiet due to lack of entertainment in the hotel at night.
Near to the beach, approx. 1km ok for able bodied people.
Near to restaurants / entertainment. Had to be as there was nothing in the hotel to stay in for.
Food very basic with limited choice - fish or meat / chips with everything.
Nice room, good maid service, excellent balcony & air con. Shame there was no fridge."

"The Hotel was clean, staff very friendly and the food was good and plentiful, the downside was poor sun / pool combination but we new this before we booked"

"Nice smallish hotel with a good location in the old town part of Benidorm. Only said not suitable for younger people as I reckon they'd want to be nearer to the new town type of nighttime entertainment. Rooms were very clean and maid service superb. Room was basic but suited the budget holiday we wanted. Food was basic but ample not a huge selection of dishes but ideal for kids. Staff were pleasant and helpful when needed. The pool area appears quite small but was perfect for the number of guests in the hotel. It never got overcrowded and with the shaded areas was perfect for sitting out. The pool itself was quite small but after the shock of getting in was great for a relaxing swim without loads of people overcrowding it. The beach is great, only a 5 minute walk away through the old town areas. There are a few local pubs / clubs with entertainment between the hotel and beach that are not too pricey either! I would recommend this hotel for a family holiday on a budget. I'm not sure why the hotel only has a 2 star rating though - We've stayed in worse 3 star hotels."
