"the hotel was clean and plenlty of room for me my husband and our 2 year old it was nice to have pools in each block. the staff were all fantastic my son is still talking about pablo who got him up singing and dancing.the food was great.didn,t find the walk to strip a problem

"10 mins from the strip if you want to walk or use hotel shuttle bus to go to the old town or aura beach.appartments are quite big and very clean,there is a small mini market on site,a pool,and some form of entertainment evert night.all the staff are friendley,and most speak english.we had agreat holiday and will be going again."

"This hotel is fab. First impressions was it was small and dark when we stepped off the bus, but once past the reception it is a huge complex with a choice of four pools!!! 3 quieter pools and 1 main loud pool near the bar. The entertainment is mainly kareoke and singing artists. Pedro the kareoke master is great with kids. The food at the hotel is really nice and not expensive. The hotel room are huge!! they are really clean and the kitchen is fully equipped and the TV has english channels ITV, BBC4 and CBEEBIES. The hotel also has a supermarket but there are cheaper supermarkets on the strip. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the strip or 3.35 euros in a taxi. You can get to the beach and old town via the shuttle bus from the hotel which is free."

"There where 3 couples in our party and stayed at the choromar for 2 weeks in sept 08, we had 3 apartments, 2 apartments where in block 2 and 1 in block 1. The choromar consists of 3 apartment blocks and the main reception block which also has a side annex, each block has its own swimming pool including the annex, which makes 5 swimming pools. I would like to say something possitive about the choromar but I cant. Firstly I would never go back there, the pools that I could see from my balcony, in blocks 1, 2 and 3 where never cleaned properly in the 2 weeks that we stayed, 2 of our party had ear infections from the pool and our apartment had the constant smell of the old brown stuff, this was so much so that we went out and bought some bleach to put down all the drains in our apartment, the hot water was scolding and there was no cover on the electric hob. The apartment was never cleaned, infact the hairs on the floor when we got there where still there when we left. We try to get to the algarve 2\3 times a year and this place is the worst that I have stayed in, NEVER AGAIN."

"Very basic, Dated, clean, a very large appartment which met our requirements, no lifts, We were in block 3 which was quite but the main block was very busy and noisey with very confined swimming pool. A good walk to the strip."

"These family run appartments are great value for money. The appartments are very big and although they are advertised to sleep 4, six people can comfortably share one appartment. They are very clean and contain all you could need including an ironing board! ( But you need to take your own iron!) The staff are very friendly and helpful and there is a very relaxed atmosphere at the Choro Mar. There is good entertainment every night and this carries on until 2.00 a.m. ( If you are in the main block rather than one of the annexes, the music can be a bit loud if you retire early and you are a light sleeper). The food served in the bar is very good and very reasonably priced. The holiday was great and good fun, plenty of Stag and Hen parties arriving, usually for 4 days including the weekend. We will definitely be going back to the Choro Mar."

"Very nice apartments, clean & well maintained.
Although on the down side, very noisy at weekends with stag and hen parties; and quite far from the strip (about a 10 minute walk through dodgy back streets). Although there is a shuttle bus its a very small van so hard to get a lift when theres 12 of you."

"We went on a hen do with 17 of us and it was really good the rooms were spacious and they had good entertainment on site; to get to the main bars it was a short taxi ride costing about 4€ you could walk it in about 15 mins but we preferred not to

"Clean and friendly although the bar staff were run ragged as they were short staffed, entertainment was good on an evening and bar opened untill late, the appartments were located on the outskirts so taxis are required to travel to the strip, beach and old town. There is a free bus during the day which is good.
But overall excellent value for money !!!"

"the hotel itself was very nice and clean with a 10 min walk to the strip and about 25 min to the beach. the only problem that we had was the fact that we had a large group of lads ibn the next rooms to us and were very loud and up till about 6-7am every night thereofre we had the lack of sleep."

"Great apartments but quite a walk from beach. A free bus is run four times daily to beach and Old Town. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms cleaned daily but towels only changed half way through a weeks stay. Bed linen will be changed if staying more than a week. Balcony was quite small but adaquate for two. Nice size swimming pool. Also has gym/jaccussi/steam room (extra charge). Doesn't have a restaraunt, only a snack menu but lots of restaraunts about 10-15 mins walk away. Need to be prepared to walk/use taxis as apartments are at back of resort but taxis are very reasonable."

"The accomodation needs a light switch in the bedroom near the beds. The plugs are nowhere near the dressing table so drying your hair is a feat in itself!! Apart from that nice. Little bit of a distance from the strip but then it was good value so can't complain about that!"

"I went on holiday with my daughter on my own to the Choro Mar. We had a fab time. Within a couple of hours my daughter had made friends and was enjoying herself in the pool.

The pool area is small however, there is a pool allocated to each block ( 4 blocks). The main block has the bar.

Bar food is cheap however be prepared to wait .... I think one night it was nearly 1hr 30mins. ( 1 cook who does one order at a time). Chicken Lasagne worth the wait!! The owners of hotel are friendly and helpful. They know there guests well and were great with my daughter.

I was amazed at the size of the appartment. Bathroom needed updated but it was clean. Lift also helpful with luggage. Downside to the apartment being in Block 1 is the Karaoke till 2am. Luckily we were at end of block, so didn't bother us too much.

Strip was about 20 minute walk away. However the hotel do put on free bus to beach and old town at various times of day. Taxi only 3.50euros.

A little alarmed prior to going as some reviews not that great, but i think given its star rating it meets expectations.

On the whole, it was excellent value for money. We will be going back!!!"

"Very good size apartments.Plenty of storage space.Good size clean pool.Sun beds ok.Small supermarket downstairs o.k. for essentials.Courtesy bus to old town 4 times a day.Entertainment on in bar.Performers on 3 nights a week.Rest of the week is Karaoke very loud while 2am.Longish walk to the strip 15-20mins.Staff are very friendly.Overall good holiday and value for money.Although noise form the karaoke nights spoilt it."

"Apartments were fine, clean, spacious - pity there was no air conditioning.

Pool was nice, but food behind the bar was not the b
