"this hotel was good but the studois were ok but he kitchen was too small n no toaster or kettle but al in all it was ok the cups were too small to enjoy a cuppa putting on a bus free was good too"

"Hotel requires general maintenance. The fold up bed in our room was damaged. The air con packed up in my sister room. The hotel brought two single beds into the room and left the sofa bed withn the room. Was a bit of a tight squeeze.
Poor entertainment and main communication in Spanish.
Poor, limited kids entertainment (colouring/drawing) - No publicity about kids club, despite the fact that many children were staying at the hotel.
Food was ok, but became boring after awhile. Plentiful. Could eat as much as you liked.
Really a 3* hotel not 4.
Nice location. Outside of the hustle and bustle of the town. Good courtesy bus service to town and beach although good be laid on until later in the evening."

"GYM
The "gym" is an absoloute disgrace. There are about 5 peices of equipment in a dark unairconditioned feeble room. The weights are totally unsuitable with a maximum of 2kg. There was one machine, a peck deck/lat machine which when you used it, slid across the other side of the room with you on it. You would get better results from 2 cans of baked beans. When we arrived we asked reception about the gym and were told it was open all day. Infact it is only open from 11:00(ish)-15:00 and on our first day we had to wait for someone to open it which happened at 11:15 when a teenage boy strolled along with the hump and opened up.
STAFF
ALL staff except for those in the restaurant (who were very nice) are very abrupt and have extremely limited english. Even when you speak slowly and use as much spansih as you can, they look at you as though you are from another planet, not another country.
ENTERTAINMENT
The kids entertainment starts way too late at 23:00. The only show we enjoyed was teh birds of prey. Having enjoyed that, we made sure we were around for the parrot show. It was such a dissapointment. A young guy placed 6 stressed and depressed looking parrots (one of whom was bald from being continually picked at by the other) asd asked them to perform tricks. The music was way too loud for the birds and none of them wanted to do what they were told (I dont blame them) and whenever they did do it, they didnt even want the treat for doing it. Not nice to see. The organisers quickly set about taking pictures for 10 euros.
If you need an iron, take your own. The hotel have 1 and whenever you ask for it, it is unavailable. After 4 days of asking, we eventually asked if they could find out who had it. They claimed they did not know on every occassion. The day before we came home, we managed to get it and the staff were calling our room asking for it back within an hour! Strange that they never knew who had it when we needed it!
There were lots of groups of teenagers and transvestites which is fine (each to their own) but when your 5 year old son is asking you why the men around the pool have got boobies, you find yourself in a bit of an awkward situation!"

"Definately not worthy of the 4 star rating. Dated, very limited entertainment and facilities therefore over priced."

"The hotel was a severe disappointment, it was tatty, dingy and not cared for. I did not consider the facilities to be four star more two to three star. It did not have bowls to eat breakfast from in the apartment, and when contact was made with reception to request bowls we were told there were not bowls, hard to believe in a hotel, they must have bowls but simply did not consider it important enough to provide them to its guest. We were told to use cups instead!! The pool although looking good from afar was dirty and not well maintained. It had lots of debris in the water, the area around the poor was wet, despite no smoking signs people smoked freely, and the life guard did not say a word to any of the transgressors but if one entered the pool area with a bottle with drink in it, he would be tenacious in securing the removal of the offending item.
The hotel was grubby and run down, it smelt of urine in the hallway to the apartment, it was dark and dingy."

"on behalf of all of us ...id like to thank you our holiday went brilliant, we loved every minute of it ..though we would of liked to stay longer..haha.. but it couldnt have been better we were pleased with the hotel, staff at the hotel, everyone was friendly and your staff wer brilliant thanks again i will definetley looking at booking my next oliday with you thanks again"

"On the whole the appartment that we stayed in was ok. It was large, clean but very basic. There was no kettle or toaster or grill etc. It was a self catering holiday which we found very difficult as there were just two cooker rings, a fridge and a microwave. (no microwaveable containers)
The hotel shop was very pricey and the prices seem to vary depending on who served you!! In general we found the bar/meals very overpriced and they took advantage of the fact you were along way from the town. However, there was a supermarket about 10 minutes from the hotel which is well worth a visit because you will save a fortune! But quite a long walk and crossing tw busy main roads to get to them.
The free bus is good but it stops around 1pm and doesn't start again until 5ish then stops again at around 8.30 and taxis are quite pricey around 7 euros from the beach front which soon adds up when you to and fro a few times!
The pools were lovely and clean and we spent most of the time around the smaller pools with the 2 children as the larger pool was much larger and deeper.
The staff were generally friendly and the maids came round every day with fresh towels and sheets.
We didn't see much evidence of hotel entertainment though i'm sure there was some. I think it was directed towards the spanish guests more than any other.
Overall it is a pretty location but very isolated! I would take a kettle the rings took about half an hour to boil a saucepan!!"

"Clean, tidy and fully functioning. The baggage room and courtesy room were superb and saved us 50 euro to keep the room on."

"we were a party of 2 adults and 2 young children. The room was huge with 2 balconies, tv, fridge (even though we we full board) big bath and nicely decorated, the best room we have had in a hotel. The down side was the evening entertainment it was all in spanish with only a few people watching. I was expecting kids disco and entertainment to keep the kids occupied but i was told the kids club started when spanish kids broke up for holidays the day we left 13 june. The pools were lovely, clean and big with plenty of loungers and no rush to get one, i think due to the lack of families here. We had a car which was great to get about as the hotel is a brisk 15 min walk to the sea, shops and bars. although there is a free bus which comes every 20 mins or so which takes you into the town centre and the beach. The meals were good but not 4 star and as we were there 11 days did get a bit repetative but there was plenty and the staff were great with the kids. The hotel was very quiet but was getting busier the weekend we left. All in all it is a nice hotel we had a good time there it was clean, well looked after with nice staff. Its not for you if you want to be in the middle of an action packed break but it was excellent value for the money."

"hotel el pinar is now getting a little faded but then, so am i. the rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable, the food (we were half board) is very good and plentiful, with good variety. the hotel CAN, on occasion, be a little noisy but being away from the centre of torremolinos, it is probably at least as quiet as those hotels near the centre. this is our second year at el pinar and i would not hesitate to go again. i thought it very good value. the hotel also offers a free bus service to the beach and the town, which is very useful. no regrets."

"Receptionists either didn't understand English too well, didn't smile or seemed as though they didn't want to be bothered with helping us.We weren't told where to catch the free shuttle bus and too many people at the desk to ask, but when we did find out (another English holiday maker) we found the service brilliant and drivers very helpful.
The choice of food wasn't very brilliant and the chips were always cold, even if we went in as the restaurant had opened . At breakfast, the fried eggs were like eating plastic.
Our room, which was changed because we wanted one on the lowest floor we could get, was in bad repair. Towel rails hanged off the wall, the standard lamp had got it's shade broken and light bulbs needed changing."

"A little further away from the town centre / beach than indicated on the website with nothing whatsoever in the immediate vicinity as an alternative to the hotel eg bars.
Alongside major road system that generated lots of background noise.
Described as having a gym - barely qualifies as such.
Despite the negative points we did enjoy our stay & were pleased with the hotel generally."

"I think I would of rated the Hotel excellent if they would of had more than 1 high chair in the reteraunt and the reception staff were a little more helpful to us. The pool was great but there was a shortage of beds. The entertainment day time and evening was very very poor and some times non existent ."

"hotel is average, not 4* more like 3*,needs a bit of redecoration, asked for complimentary upgrade and got upgraded to a suite from double room worth asking for, suite was big enough but basic, cleaned everyday, breakfast has hot and cold food good selection, pools are ok but in shade most of day, free bus runs to centre of town(15 min walk) and beach all through out the day,it was ok for 3 days,a week at the most, good for the price and 10 mins from airport in taxi."

"booked a one bedroomed self catering appartment for two nights. sofa bed only belonged on tip - filthy. complained to reception (totally uninterested man) who said he would send another bed. ended up with two extra single beds that would only fit in bedroom so all four of us shared bedroom, good job it was our own teenagers with us. kitchenette unit broke, only one ring worked and there was only 2 cups anyway. self catering block smelt of rotten fish constantly and needed to run into appartment to open windows to ensure that didn't smell. Second morning discovered vagrant sleeping on sofa in self catering block entrance hall, not appropriate with children around.Good things - bathroom fairly new and clean as were sheets and towels. lovely patio but nothing to sit on out there and dirty when we arrived. Location was fine for short stay, hotel bus useful for daytime. Glad we only had to suffer it for 2 nights, would not go there again. Self catering block definately not 4*!"

"The hotel is no way a 4*.
It is in poor location -25 mins walk to Torremolinos centre.
