"Stayed at this hotel in October this year for one week.My mother and I had two single rooms on opposite sides of the corridor. One facing pool and beach ,which had sun in morning on balcony and the other facing beach and street with sun in afternoon. The best rooms to have are the numbers ending in 01/02 on each floor with two balconies, then you have sun most of the day, apart from that the rooms were very spacious and clean with clean towels every day if needed. The food, service and selection was excellent and the staff in general were very helpful and informative. The bus service to Palma and Arenal is frequent with a choice of three and is situated in the street at the back of the hotel."

"good hotel near beach, helpfull staff ,good standard of cleanliness."

"The cafe with loud live music at the back of the hotel blighted our stay for the first few nights. After an early start, the loud music that continued till gone music meant we were knackered the next day and we only managed to catch up with sleep half way through our holiday! If you can, geta beachfront room, it might be quieter although the planes and airport were a bit of an issue, mainly at night when the wind was in the right direction.
The hotel was spacious, clean and service was polite and consistantly good throughout our stay, especially at dinner. The food was average though - it got a bit 'samey' by the third day and was a bit of a let down. This was highlighted when we ate out on the last day and had found we did actually have taste buds afterall! Still it's a hotel that is focussed on food and half board is only a tiny bit more than self catering. If you can't be bothered to cook or don't want the expense of eating out then it might be for you. Breakfast was good though and buffet style service meant you could eat as much as you like.
Rooms were spacious and bathrooms were functional if a little cramped. No issues with hot water or towels though and maid service was daily with no complaints either.
Price wise I think it's a good deal but given the ample supermarkets and restaurants close by, I'd definitely consider going self catering next time, if only to experience the food!"

"Hotel very clean, food ok, staff friendly & helpful. Not many british people, found other residents very noisey"

"We had a lovely holiday weather was bad for the first few days, hotel was good, rooms kept very clean, beds comfortable, food not so good but to be fair we could always manage to eat something. Advertised as having entertainment but none had the X Factor, plenty of sunbeds and parasols, excellent pools but they were very cold when we stayed, indoor pool was closed until people asked for it to be opened, but then it is very small so wasn't much of a loss. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Opposite the hotel is a wonderful beach, nice clean sand, too many sun beds and the beach was raked each day. very nice resort for a break but british people are in the minority. If we decided to go back we would only do bed and breakfast."

"Fantastic, could not be better.
Been there 3 times and would go back year after year, great staff very friendly."

"FOOD WAS EXCELLENT LOTS OF CHOICE AND LOTS OF IT. ONLT PROBLEM WAS IF YOU DID NOT GET IN FOR DINNER BEFORE 7.30PM YOU WOULD BEST WAIT UNTIL AFTER 8PM OR YOU WOULD QUEUE FOR A TABLE.
BACK POOL WAS GOOD AND USUALLY VERY QUIET BUT WATCH THE MOZZIES THEY BITE!
HOTEL FULL OF GERMANS BUT STAFF VERY PLEASANT AND MOST UNDERSTOOD ENGLISH.
GRAET PLACE TO HIRE CYCLES AND EXPLORE THE WHOLE OF PALMA BAY BOTH TOWARDS PALMA AND AWAY TOWARDS EL ARENAL AND FURTHER ALONE THE COAST."

"Hotel kept very clean, staff friendly and helpful. Decor is dated and the mini bar is an empty fridge!
Food was good and plentiful, some entertainment in the evenings but hotel is geared towards older people rather than children."

"Lovely hotel -pools are very clean as is hotel Food OK but seems to cater more for our German friends"

"True 4 star hotel - very modern and clean with lots of facilities and very close to the beach and restaurants.
Will definitely stay here again."

"An excelent hotel idealy situated ,wonderful staff always listening to improve."

"HOTEL EL CID EXCELLENT (ROOM 202) 2 BALCONIES,GREAT VIEWS.
BUFFET BREAKFAST AND DINNER GOOD QUALITY AND SERVICE,POSITION OF HOTEL EXCELLENT! PLEASANT AND FRIENDLY STAFF
REALLY NICE HOTEL WOULD VISIT AGAIN"

"The El Cid is a very clean hotel and the maids are excellent. I found the room spacious and very well kept. The food was excellent; there was a superb choice and i cannot believe anyone would go hungry there, there was everything on the 'go as many times as you like' buffet. The staff at the El Cid are friendly; they love it if you try a little Spanish but don't mind at all if you don't as it gives them a chance to practise their English. The hotel is directly across the road from the beach and very well situated in the centre of Ca'n Pastilla which is an old resort with a great deal of bars to visit. It's an excellent base from which to explore the Island. The weather is always warmer in the south so it is perfect for spring and autumn but i do know it is very hot in August!
The pool areas are superb and there are many sunbeds. I loved the views by the pool and it's the perfect place to while away the day with a good book. Shade is available and shelter from the wind if you're like me and enjoy the heat. The little land train is good fun and gives you a taste of the coastline and other reosrts. At Easter, many elderly stay at the hotel; i liked this aspect. they were all very jolly and it was a delight to see every guest so well catered for. I took with me my 18 year old daughter and her boyfriend; they had livelier nightlife at nearby Arenal but liked coming back to a quieter hotel to sleep. I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and all the friendly locals.
Dislikes... very few; for me having a Burger King and a Kentucky Fried Chicken nearby was too British: but apart from those two buildings it is a very Majorcan area, much better than the neighbouring Playa De Palma or Arenal. Overall a very good choice for all."

"very clean hotel and good size rooms, food was well below average for british people as it catered for the germans. in fact the food was awful, not even cheese and crackers after tea to fill up on."

"Spacious rooms and extensive buffet breakfasts."
