"Very clean and quiet apartments, in well kept mature, colourful gardens. The apartments are on different levels up the hillside, surrounded by lush vegetation, which makes each balcony private.
Staff were very helpful and nice."

"We stayed at the Fteria apartments for the first time in the beginning of September 2008. The setting is lovely, with all the apartments set in the hill, overlooking the beautiful bay of Lygaria. The rooms are basic but clean and nicely arranged but if you are planning on self catering the kitchen utensils are quite limited - just a hob no oven and you have to provide the cleaning materials (dont use their towels for drying up!) The pool is a reasonable size, clean and overlooks the bay and we were lucky enough to pretty much have it to ourselves for the week.
Lygaria itself is very quiet (if you require entertainment and nightlife then this area is not for you) with only a few tavernas and a couple of supermarkets so if you want a livelier area with more restaurants and shops, chemist etc then you will need to take a 25 minute walk over the hill to the neighbouring bay Agia Pelagia. Be warned this is quite a steep hill so flat shoes and a fair bit of stamina is recommended and dont forget the torch at night.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week and would definitely return to Fteria. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed. It is the perfect place to unwind and de-stress."

"Fabulous location. Nice rooms, basic facilities. Clean. The only thing we missed was a kettle - boiling water in a pan for tea / coffee took ages."

"Our stay at the Fteria was thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable, the accomodation is lovely and clean with a view over the beach. The cleaning lady was very pleasant and helpful and alway had a cheerie smile.
The only down side is there is no air con but everything else was perfect."

"Fteria apts was a great place to stay for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.I wouldnt recommend this hotel to the elderly or people with walking difficulties unless they got a lower ground appartment as we had an appartment at the very top and found it difficult to climb in the heat.Saying that i would return here again.A car is recommended."

"If you are looking for complete r & r then this is the place to go!! The apartments are very spacious & clean & all the staff very friendly & helpful. The location is perfect, only a walk down the driveway to the beach. The only sound we heard at night , was the sea. It was so peacefull. We are looking forward to returning next year"

"Nice clean and spacious apartment, although the stone single beds were not very comfortable. Not very accommodating over allowing you to keep your room on for a few extra hours at end of stay compared to other places we have stayed - (we know our apartment wasn't cleaned until at least 5 hours after we checked out as we were still at the resort, so we could have stayed in the room and they could have made more money). Pool bar wasn't ever open when we were there, but perhaps that's because we stayed towards the end of the season. Resort is very small and quiet, which is great if you want that, although you can hike over to Agia Pelagia (as we did often) for a larger choice of bars and restaurants."

"Upon arrival you realise that you are in the middle of nowhere but soon this becomes a part of one of the most relaxing breaks you can take. The choice of places to eat and drink is very limited however the short 20-25 minute walk over the hill to next resort will supply you with a wider choice.
The view from the hotel pool in amazing and provided the weather is good will make your stay superb. If you go in september or later in the year there really isn't ,much to do if the weather does take a turn for the worse.
Please do not stay here if you have trouble walking as you cannot avoid the hills.
Please do stay here if you want to get away from everything!"

"very basic, but clean, although if you suffer with bad knees the very steep climb to the apartments could cause some a problem. That said, we had a great week among very careing, trusting and friendly locals."

"The Apartments where fantastic, clean, lovely, well maintained- the gardnes where beautiful and the Lady who run that place was great! Beautiful views over the sea- by far the best holiday I have had in Europe thus far!"

"NICE QUITE LOCATION, FRIENDLY STAFF. WE HAD A HIGH UP APARTMENT WITH GREAT VIEWS OF THE BAY BUT YOU NEED TO BE FIT TO GET TO IT . THE APARTMENT WAS CLEAN BUT BASIC & THE BEDS WERE THE HARDEST WE'VE EVER TRIED TO SLEEP IN . SELF CATERING IS A BIT OVER STATED WE HAD 1 & A HALF HOBS TO COOK ON , NO OVEN, NO GRILL ,NO KETTLE ( JUST SAUCEPANS ) NO MICROWAVE, NO BOTTLE OPENER , NO WINE GLASSES ( JUST TUMBLERS ) NO SALAD CUTTING BOARD & NO DECENT SIZED COFFEE MUGS . BUT WE DO NOT COOK MUCH ANYWAY SO IT WAS NOT A PROBLEM, BUT IF YOU'VE GOT SMALL KIDS & YOU WANT TO COOK FOR THEM TO SAVE ON RESTAURANT BILLS THIS WOULD NOT BE IDEAL. ALSO WE THINK 2 STAR WOULD BE MORE APPROPRIATE OVERALL FOR WHAT WE PAID IT WAS OK ."

"Apartments were wonderful very close to pool and beach, you could hear the sea whilst lying in bed. Would definitely recommend for a quiet holiday, to recharge your batteries, read plenty of books etc.
The only down side was no air con or even fans, the rooms were over 40 degs at night, it would be worth while the complex investing in at least fans (even if you had to hire them) just to make things a little more comfortable as the local shop did not sell fans either so you really should try and take one with you."

"Fteria apartments were very clean and the ladies working there were polite and friendly. Very steep climb to our apartments which was not a problem for us but could be for some people but in saying that the view was lovely. I would say it was a three star and not four. The Beach was relatively quiet and you never had a problem getting a sunbed (2 euros each) but it was quite tricky getting in and out(you could do with a good pair of beach shoes)."

"Excellent place to stay and unwind, great view and lovely staff"

"This is an extremely small resort. There are two restaurants and 1 taverna - we liked the taverna. There are no bars - well, there is a cafe/bar type thing but it more like someone's very large lawn with tables. The whole place is overwhelmingly Greek - we were there in August - with most people coming to their summer homes from Heraklion. Apparently this is standard in August and thus it tends to get a bit noisey when the Greek families bring their children and/or when they eat late on their balconies. There is no cash machine here. There are 2 supermarkets - with one right next door to these apartments. The apartments excellent for Greece. The village is very pleasant and the pool tends to be relaxed. Guests at Fteria tend to be eastern european. Taxi fare from the airport 30 euros. For any nightlife at all - and, do not underestimate how little there is in this little place - you have to walk over the hill - do not underestimate the gradient; or get a taxi to Amadoura, which is where there is rock and roll.
If you want small, tranquil, out of the way then this is magic. I can imagine this being really idyllic when not swamped with locals. If you want action - forget it. If you stay here bring a lot of reading or hire a car."

"Clean, quiet, beautiful gardens and view and pleasant friendly staff. The pool and terrace with self service bar an excellent place to chill out."

"Lovely setting, very clean but basic. Quite a steep climb up to the apartments, but overall, we had a fantastic time."

"For the money we paid for this accomodation i can only describe it as excellent.
In a lovely possition, but only if your able-bodied ( its a little steep).
One negative, pool area could do with some work, not very inviting. Staff wonderful. Room immaculate."

"We would recommend these apartments to anyone. The rooms are excellent, views fantastic and staff very friendly. We will be staying there again."

"The apartments were simple, as they generally are in Greece, but they were large and very clean. The staff at the complex were friendly and it was close to everything most people need. Being on a steep, hillside there is a bit of a climb which would make it unsuitable for people who are less mobile. We would happily return to the apartments."

"the fteria apartments were very clean and quite spacious. Perhaps they were a little shabby and in need of a refurbishment but after a while it doesn't seem to matter that much. ps take a bath plug if you like a soak.In my inexperieced opinion fteria is nice but not 4star"
