"Hotel room very good value for money (less than £45 each for the week): spacious with three single beds (we had to push two together for a 'double bed'), a good shower/bathroom (the room water tended to be cold before 9am and in the evening hours so best to take showers between 9am and 6pm), and a balcony with a sea view. Bed linen and towels changed daily. Ideal for use as a base for people not averse to a little noise! The friends bar & restaurant (which is part of the hotel) plays fairly loud music for most of the day up until 2am so if you're looking for tranquility forget it! After a couple of days you sort of get used to it and sleeping becomes easier although it is advisable to try to get an hour or two's sleep during the day if possible. However, the Goldstone is surrounded by several other vibrant bar/hotels so avoid this whole area if you want peace and quiet. The rooms have optional air conditioning and fridges (at an extra cost of £60 and £30 pounds respectively) but we managed without either by leaving the balcony door open whilst we were in the room and regularly buying lots of cold bottled water from the local MegaMarket. We did however rent a safe box for the week at £15. The staff were all very friendly and most of them spoke excellent English. Some of them expressed disappointment that we did not spend more time in 'Friends' but at no time were any of them pushy or offhand with us, contrary to many reviews I have since read. We didn't bother with the free turkish breakfast as you could get a full ('lorry driver') english breakfast for less than 5 lira which was sizeable and authentic. We only had one other meal in the restaurant, cheeseburger and chips, which at 6.9 lira (less than £3.50) was excellent in value and taste. The restaurant's menu has a fairly wide choice of decently priced food and the meals we saw being served appeared to be of good size and presentation. There is also a 10% discount on meals for all hotel residents. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would definite consider returning."

"had a great time staff were really friendly!"

"the staff were absolutely brilliant and couldnt do enough for you. rooms were cleaned daily and towels given whenever you asked for them, same goes for toilet paper which isnt the norm in turkey!
it was my friends first times in turkey and they are both definitely going back next year and we'll definitely be staying at the goldstone then!!"

"Hotel was basic but fine for a one week break, everyone at the hotel was lovely very freindly and welcoming. Wouldn't worry about waking up for breakfast or having dinner there as there is SO much to choose from in Marmaris anyway. The Friends Bar/Restaurant next door was ideal for breakfast etc. Air con, fridge etc was all extra and the TV and other bits didnt work in the room but we didn't worry about that as you get what you pay for really.
All in all excellent trip."

"We were a group of 4 adults and 1 7 year old. Upon check-in we were greeted by the receptionist Murat who very kindly took our luggage to our room. We had room 306 which had a sea-view! All of the staff were very friendly and always took time to talk to you and have a dance or two! Hi to Alex, Jimmy, Neil, Adam, George- and everyone else!
The hotel is in an excellent location- close to the beach, shops and dolmus route. The rooms were cleaned every day, the housekeepers were lovely and always greeted you. If you wanted air-con, it was an extra 60 lira for the week, it was a bit annoying as you had to keep pressing the various buttons nearly every time you turned it on otherwise it wasn't a sufficient flow of cool air (every time you vacated the room it went off shortly after)! There was a small hotel pool which had 5 sun loungers either side, this was pretty quiet in the day as most people went to the beach so you could relax. Also there was a pool table which was free of charge.
The food was nice and you had a lot for your money (guests get 10% discount)- when you order it is best to ask if the meal comes with chips, salad or rice as most of them do even though it doesn't state so on the menu- when I ordered a baguette it came with an unexpected mound of chips!!! The breakfast provided is a traditional turkish breakfast- there is a wide choice of food available- salami, eggs, cheese, olives, cucumber, tomato, bread and cereal. You can pay just over 5 lira for a full english breakfast if you wish. Drink prices are a bit like in the UK- it's about 3 lira (£1.20) for a soft drink and 30 lira (£12 for a house wine).
If you want to go on any excursions, it is best to ask someone to do book for you on reception as they can get you a really good deal. We decided to go on a jeep safari (£10), horse safari(£10) and boat trips. If there is a group of you, haggle the price- usually kids go free for the boat trip- best to do an all inclusive boat trip as all drinks- even lager(!) are included- we paid £12- unfortunately it doesn't include ice-cream or crisps- but you get lunch which you will find on nearly every trip consists of chicken fillet, pasta, salad and bread.
THANK YOU TO ALL STAFF WHO MADE OUR STAY VERY PLEASANT! We will definately return. So far we have been to Marmaris 6 times and must say that although we paid £80 per room per week, it is just as good if not better than the other hotels we have stayed at- and paid a lot more money for!"

"the rooms were basic but cleaned daily ,
breakfast was traditional turkish breads meat eggs etc...
however meals in the restaurant came with a 10% discount"

"The Hotel Staff were very friendly, great fun and extremely obliging whatever our need. They helped make our holiday excellent value for money."

"The hotel had a great location next to the beach just behind Faros beach club, very centrally located to many bars and restaurants. The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels every other day most rooms with a sea view. The staff were very friendly and the hotel also has the friends bar and restaurant attached and the meals are at a very reasonable price.
The only disappointment was the pool was very small and only had 10 sunbeds not enough for the hotel guests and were in the shade for most of the day."

"this is the fourth time i have stayed at the goldstone hotel. The staff are very helpful and friendly, all you have to do is ask and they will get you anything from a bottle of water to booking you a flight on the internet"

"I booked the hotel Goldstone for my husband who returned to Marmaris to work. We have stayed in this hotel many times and were married from there. The locality is very good for all amenities, near the beach and restaurants but not noisy. The hotel restaurant serves good meals at all times of the day and the staff were very courteous and helpful."

"We would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Marmaris, the rooms are clean, and linen and towels changed regularly. We had no problems whatsoever. The bar and restaurant downstairs (Friends) is great, they have a good bunch of lads working there and the food is wonderful.
Give it a try, we'll be returning later on in the year for another couple of weeks."

"There was no hot water in the mornings, and sometimes little in the the evenings. As it was the end of the season the hotel stopped putting out the self service breakfast, which was not a problem, but it just meant you got what you were given rather than having the choice.
The hotel itself is lovely, the staff are nice and the rooms are very clean. If you like peace and quiet ask for a room the opposite side to the bar, as its gets rather noisy to the early hours.
The half board food meant you didnt get a choice of dinner, just whatever they gave you. It was ok, but alot of the time the dishes were chicken.
All in all a nice place to stay."

"Hotel in excellent location, 2 minute walk form beach and nightlife. Rooms are basic with private bathroom, but are well maintained and cleaned everyday. You have to pay for air conditioning (£3 a day), also can rent out a safety deposit box and fridge for your room. Overall, had a really good time staying at the Goldstone, staff were brilliant fun. Would definitley stay at the Goldstone again."

"the staff at this hotel are really friendly and welcoming"

"The Goldstone hotel even though not rated very high, was great, the cleanliness of the rooms, including the beds being made every day and the towels being changed every other day. The helpfulness of staff was brilliant too. Will be returning to this hotel next year again."

"We had a very enjoyable 2 weeks at goldstone. The staff there made everyone feel very welcome. The rooms were cleaned every day, and the food was very good."
