"the hotel was spotlessly clean, lovely furnishings and large comfy beds, the food was very nice and varied, the staff were very friendly and helpfull the only problem was the soundproofing, this was a fault we had read about but didnt think it could be that bad.

we stayed out of season and found it very difficult to get a good night sleep from hearing other people snoring and guests just returning to their rooms late at night, just talking normally. You could hear other peoples conversations as if you were in the same room. I sneezed and my friend in the next room said bless you

As we were out of season it was bad enough, i cant imagine what it will be like when the hotel is full of youngsters and families.

This is such a shame as apart from the noise everything about the hotel is lovely"

"we were happy to be moved but were'nt happy to be put in a hotel geared up for families as we only wanted a quiet break. the staff were'nt very happy or helpfull. plus the food wasn't very good either. definately not a four star hotel. if you're a youngish couple like us dont book this hotel(38 and 30)!!.rooms were nicely furnished but no tea/coffee facilities."

"There is a slight hill to walk up to the hotel. Certain transfer companys do not stop outside the hotel so you have to get off at the corner and also wait there for the transfer back to the airport. Theres a jacuzzi on the lower floor so if the weathers bad you can still go for a dip with the kids."

"A little dissapointed after staying at H-topp hotels before that the bus they run between hotels for you to have lunch there and view other hotels in the group was suspended the day we arrived. It appeared that the Hotel group were deciding on a daily basis which hotel would close for the 'Quieter periods' resulting in numerous angry holidaymakers arriving from other hotels that were being closed at short notice...This was not the hotel we had booked and were told the day before departure that we were not going to our chosen destination due to an overbook which in effect was a closure of that hotel for the winter. While the hotel we were transferred to was ok it wasnt what I had booked but with a days notice I was hardly in a position to oject although I was offerred my money back. However I spoke to a lady who had been transferrred to 3 hotels and was only there a week which makes one a little concerned about future booking. Other than these problems we had a nice break. Your staff dealt with my situation reasonably well."

"While making my own way (by train) to Pineda de Mar got a call to say that Hotel unnavailable - feared the worst. Took the alternative at Calella(H TOP PALACE).Chaos as others had been moved from two closed hotels at Pineda and had not been booked in there. Tired and knowing my booking would not have filtered thro' - despaired! What a delight when I reached the desk -eventually - to find my name, room no. meal card etc.Great hotel , great food, spotless, friendly. Thanks Travel Republic, great holiday!"

"Hotel very noisy due to lack of sound proofing, so would advise ear plugs. Found food better than reports said it would be. Went to Royal Star for lunch and the food was not so good. I stayed at the Calella Palace as I could not get booked at my favourite hotel the Amaika, so was very disappointed that you can no longer use your AI card to drink in the Amaika. Did enjoy the sunroof with hot tubs on the roof at the Calella Palace, just wish the weather had been better."

"Had a lovely time; rooms very nice and cleaned daily. Plenty of choice of food at breakfast, lunch & evening meal.
Room top terrace was fantastic (over 18s only); especially for 7 ladies who had left their children at home!"

"This is a lovely hotel which is being spoilt by the fact that children are allowed in the bar area on a night time with no time limit for their exit. The children who were there when we stayed were left to run riot whilst their parents sat drinking.
If the weather is great (which it was not when we were there bar one day) the only refuge from the children is the roof top sunbathing area with lovely jacuzzis and a beautiful view and a bar with really friendly bar staff."

"We enjoyed the holiday very much hotel was nice it looked clean aswell. The staff were helpfull in reception the bar staff were happy now and again the grill chef was great and all his food was VERY VERY NICE lol it was great entertainment were sorry we didnt go to the medevil show it sounds great. I was a bit upset when I found out all water parks were closed and all the exscersions were closing. I wouldnt go back now I have been but thats just the way I prefer it. We did go to barcelona my daughter was scared when a pickpocket got taken down by police so we didnt stay for the night lights as we were told it gets worse.
I am very happy with travel republic they have given me a lovely holiday I will be booking my next one with travel republic."

"This hotel represents excellent value for money, the rooms are modern & spacious, and the restaurant offers a selection of foods to suit all tastes. The staff are very friendly & helpful if you treat them with respect.

The best feature about this hotel is the roof top terrace, where you can lie in the sun all day without any children to distract you (over 18's only)"

"this is our 6th visit to this hotel the hotel is very good value for money the hotel is spotless the food is ok there is always something to eat for all kinds of taste the only downside is the walls are paperthin and sometimes you have to queue at bar our party cosisted of 13people aged from 2 to 75 andwe all found it compatible"

"The rooms were very nice but the walls were paper thin so every slight noise could be heard from the room next door, in fact one night the snoring was so loud from the adjoining room that I thought someone was in my bed! Also the only entertainment was for children and the seating very uncomfortable. The bar prices were extortionate!
I would not use this hotel again but would try a better class of H.Top Hotels."
