"Quiet, friendly staff and undemanding which is what I wanted but it was a half hour walk to the beach. The onsite and local supermarkets were of poor quality."

"Hotel is quiet and ideal for a queit relaxing holiday. The bungalows are very tatty, and basic - which is ok if the weather is good. However if it rains there really isnt anything to do in the hotel. The hotel complex is nice, the pool is large and clean. It takes around 40 minutes to walk to the beach, there is a bus/coach service which stops outside every hour."

"Very pleased overall. Nice and quiet location and no banging music. Pool got overcrowded - take it this was due to a bank holiday there.
Took a tip from previous visitor-requested bungalow between 310 and 340- this gives you more privacy at the back. Cleaned everyday and linen change was once a week. Faro2 shopping centre was 10 minutes walk via short cut. Here there was choice of plenty of restaurants.
Taxis and buses readily available. One downfall-very expensive on food and drinks.
Bus service to the dunes for 1 euro return"

"We could not have asked for a better holiday. The hotel was fantastic and should be rated above four stars. It was very clean, spacious near enough to the shops beach and night life but was also far enough away to relax and enjoy the peace and quite of the reseort. The bugalows could have been two bedrooms for large familes.

The pool was excellent although a little cold at times and the bar located beside the pool was great.

There was internet access which was good so we could stay in touch and let relative know all was ok.

Staff were also helpful and nice."

"We had a great time. Loved the little private patio and garden. We had booked B & B which worked out really well, and we had dinner there on two nights as well.

HOWEVER, we had to suffer a 6 hour delay at Gatwick before our flight out and did not receive any compensation. Do we take this up with you or direct with First Choice, please advise."

"Although the bungalows were basic they were very clean, the gardens were well maintained and the pool was very clean, one of the best we have seen in a self catering complex.

The weather was good, the food was average.

For people not good on theri feet they would need taxis or car hire to get around.

We were there for one of us to recover from major surgery. This was the ideal place to do this as it was peaceful and quiet, no noisy nights life to disturb you.

The staff on reception were very helpful.

We will definitely go back next winter."

"We had a late flight home and were disappointed that we were not allowed to retain our room for 3-4 hours as we had to be out by 12 Noon and did not fly until 20.00hrs"

"The complex itself is very nice with an excellent pool area with lots of uncrowded room for sunbathing.The pool area is surrounded by three rings of semi-detached bungalows each with its own private back and front amenity area.Inside they are comfortable and functionable although they are starting to show signs of wear.Nevertheless they are perfectly adequate for two people.The complex is abit isolated and unless you enjoy walking you will need a hire car or make use of the very frequent taxi service...3 Euros to beachfront.We stayed on a self catering basis and ate at the Faro Shopping Centre approx 20 minute walk where there are many different style restaurants and bars."

"Picturesque grounds and pool area with views to the golf course from some apartments. Accommodation quite rustic but clean. Air con was noisy, fridge was rusty and the thermostat stuck so the motor was on constantly on. My suitcase held the door shut for 10 days. Staff were helpful and the service / food / drink at the pool bar was excellent."

"Nice hotel, with individual bungalows, and a short walk from the main shopping area.

A bit of an ant infestation was occurring in the kitchen area in our bungalow, and we found the beds very hard and often woke with aching backs.

Very nice pool area with bar. Though the whole place is very quiet and would suit people of a certain age looking for a quiet relaxing time - certainly nothing going on past 9pm at night.

It is apparent that this hotel caters for German tourists mostly - the TV in the room had only German channels, and all of the other guests were German, and the food choices were very typical German dishes."

"Jardin Dorado is not a 4 star hotel. It does not pretend to be. However, it is a friendly, quiet facility in which you feel safe and secure. It is kept clean and the staff are polite.

I have holidayed at Jardin Dorado, out of season, for the last 5 years. It has always delivered a relaxing holiday without any of the fine trimmings attached to 4 star hotels BUT offers real value for money (VFM)

I would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing, good holiday without any fine trimmings."

"Nice bungalows and large pool area with lots of sunbeds. Poolside bar and bar sancks available although not a huge selection. Only 5 minute walk to Faro 2 shopping centre and about 1/2 hour walk to Maspalomas beach."
