"Marins Playa is a really lovely hotel only this time we were in the annex across the street so didn't get as good view as from the main hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean but the beds were a little uncomfortable. Even though we booked room only we still got maids 5 days a week who change the beds and towels. Great for the price."

"Staff very friendly and welcoming. Very impressed with the cleanliness and regular visits to clean the room and leave fresh towels. Right on the border of Cala Millor and Cala Bona so really close to all ammenities. Beautiful garden, pool and restaraunt area. If I was to return to Calla Millor. I would not hesitate to book here again. By far the nicest apartments in the area."

"One of the best Hotels I have stayed in. It should be a 4 star rated at least. Very clean and only a 5 min walk from the beach!! The only slight problem we had was that a few of the bar staff could not speak english (It has mainly German guests) but apart from that it is a fantastic hotel with great swimming pools for the kids. Highly recommended !!!!"
Top Tip:
"You have to try a meal in the "Big Brother Restaurant" Only about 2 mins from the hotel on the seafront. We made our way through most of the menu in the 10 days we were there and every meal was fantastic!!!! Get the spare ribs. You will not be disapointed. Great staff too. "The main hotel complex is situated about 150 metres behind the promenade and is located between Cala Millor and Cala Bona and has a good supermarket on site selling everything you need for a self catering holiday.
The guests are 90% German tourists however we did not find this to be a problem:as the reception and other staff also speak english and there are plenty of sun loungers for guests in the pool area.
If you are booking a 2 bedroom apartment you should note that these are apparently all in block 6 which is situated about 130 metres further inland from the main hotel complex:which means a 3/4 minute walk to the hotel facilities .These 20 two bedroom apartments are very clean and modern and have a good size lounge/kitchenette[approx 18x12 ft],bathroom with shower over bath [9x6ft],utility room with sink for laundry, 2 large bedrooms with 2 single beds in each [14x12ft] and a balcony/terrace which catch the sun all afternoon: about 4 apartments have very large second balconies and the ground floor apartments have good size terraces.
The cleaners came 5 mornings a week and provided fresh towels each time and they change the bedding at least once a week and are friendly.
Each apartment has excellent air conditioning ,a TV ,Fridge,sink,two hobs with extractor fan ,microwave,phone and a kettle.
Be warned however,the only english TV stations are Sky news and CNN news.We took a small DVD player with us ,however the TV in our apatment did not have a scart socket so it was not possible to connect into it-if you are going to take a dvd we therefore recommend that you have one which can connect into a cable/arial connection in case you have a similar set.
There is nightly evening entertainment which is a mixed bag:the external entertainers are average/good but I did not think a great deal of the in house entertainment team who seem to perform every other night - however the children appear to like them which is probably due to the fact that they also run the daytime childrens clubs."Top Tip:
"The Pizzaria Restaurant/takeaway situated around the corner from the hotel was excellent:serving pizzas,pasta dishes,fish and seaks/poultry dishes. The place was very clean,food was very good ,reasonably priced and the staff were very helpful and friendly especially with the children.
There are also a good number of very friendly British/Irish owned bars/restaurants situated no more than a 200 metre walk away from the hotel on the promenade which joins Cala Millor with Cala Bona serving good value steaks,chicken and fish dishes:we used Winstans Bar/Restaurant and the Brother Bear Steak House and the service and food at both are very good. Further afield the Rose & Crown in the centre of Cala Millor and the restaurants at Cala Bona harbour are also very good and child friendly.
Cala Millor beach is situated approximately 350 metres away and has fine gently shelving sands which extend over about a mile and a half along the wide promenade backed by shops and cafes bars."Marins Playa Apartments check-in Date:

"The apartments were excellent, couldn't have picked any better. The location was fantastic, the food was great and the entertainment very good. the fact theat it was mainly dutch/germans staying there didn;t make any difference. Wouldn't hesitate staying here again!"

"Fantastic hotel, worthy of 4 star rating. Staff very friendly, very good location one block back from the beach. Extremely clean in all communal areas. A little disappointed with how often the maid came into our apartment, this happened only 3 times in 7 days. However the apartment itself was very modern and clean. We enjoyed the entertainment, the animation team were very enthusiastic but not pushy. Although a predominantely german hotel, everything was translated including entertainment, signs around hotel and menus. Kids clubs were well run and the general atmosphere around the hotel was very family friendly. Everything went very smoothly, we enjoyed our stay at the Marins Playa."
Top Tip:
"The nearest beaches of Cala Millor and Cala Bona were not as good in my opinion as those in near by resorts. The waves were rough and the sand had twigs etc in. We opted to explore the east coast by carhire and would reccomend Sa Coma beach, (a land train also runs to this resort) Cala Ferrera, and Cala Dor. For a real jewel of a beach head for Cala Ferrera and follow signs for Cala Sa Nau-spectacluar!! (approx 40 mins from Cala Millor)These beaches do become very crowded in peak season, but they are worth visiting- the snorkelling is fantastic so many fish of different sizes and colours that swim with you."Marins Playa Apartments check-in Date:

"We had a fantastic week, and the apartment was very clean and spacious, with plenty of room for a family of 4. The only problem we had with the appartment was the lack of toaster! The facilities in the hotel were excellent with three lovely clean swimming pools which were safe for my two young children. The hotel is catered towards the german holidy makers but their were plenty of sunbeds to go around! The entertainment was again aimed at the german guests but this did not stop our two children joining in and they enjoyed it immensly. I would definatly go back again."

"The beach at Cala Millor is lovely and although full in high season, you can always find a spot to squeeze on. As the hotel is on the border with Cala Bona, you can easily walk into the harbour area at Cala Bona where there are some lovely restaurants, in particular 'Janet and Johns' which had a good selection and some lovely fish dishes."Marins Playa Apartments check-in Date:

"Fantastic hotel, spotlessly clean, good entertainment. BUT, on day 10 of our holiday, our towels were removed from sun beds we reserved at 6:45am. For the previous 9 days we reserved them at 6:45 along with everyone else, but they were NOT removed.
On questioning this with the hotel I was told there was a policy that sun beds could not be reserved before 7am and any that were would hve towels removed. At no point was this ever pointed out to us in either printed notes or via signs. This "policy" therefore needs to be a) communicated and b) enforced consistently, as it is ineffective. In any event it is totally pointless. This spoilt our last day as there were no sunbeds remaining when we arrived later - which also shows that more sunbeds are required during peak season."Marins Playa Apartments check-in Date:

"have stayed in loads of apartments previously this must rate as the best for cleanliness. we had a super room in the main building overlooking pool and entertainment, the majority of guests were german and the entertainment was geared towards the germans but this did not spoil our holiday, there was no excessive noise or rowdiness. the situation of the hotel was excellent in my opinion only minutes walk to main part of cala bona and also cala millor and bus stop within few yards of hotel. we will definately go back again."
