A from Lanzarote reviewed the Occidental Allegro Oasis Hotel
"Had a really nice weekend break, room was fine although there was a smell from plumbing. and the Air Coditioning was poor.
Food good with plenty of choice, staff smiled which is unusual for Lanzarote. Service good and Staff friendly.
The Brits are up to the German tricks with Beach Towels, they must they must deposit towels on sun Lougers at some unearthly Hour to take the prime positions.
found the evening entertainment very good.
All in all we had a really good time, and will certainly do it more often."
Top Tip:
"As we live in Lanzarote, and the hotel was fully inclusive, there was no reason to leave the hotel, however I think next time we will book half board, and try Playa Blanca, where the beaches are much better."

"Good selection of food and drinks 3 times a day. Entertainment on the evenings could have been better on some nights.
Swimming pool area was kept clen and tidy and the staff could not do enough to help during the trip.
Will be happy to go back again !!!

"Dont use the transfer service just get a taxi from the rank instead its quicker, easier and cheaper.
Hotel is about a 40min walk from the sandy beach and the bars but only 3 euro by taxi which u can get from the rank opposite the hotel"

GARY from BOLTON reviewed the Occidental Allegro Oasis Hotel
"The hotel was very nice but I would say that the carpets were now in need of replacement along with a few of the more dated fixtures and fittings. We found the entertainment at the hotel excellent and there was always something to do. The food was good and there was plenty of variety. The staff were very friendly and accomodating and moreso with the children. The pools were clean but cold however this may have been due to the time of year we travelled. Overall, we had a very enjoyable holiday and would definately recommend the same to friends and family."

"Although very close to beach, not good for swimming due to rocks and strong currents.
Hotel a bit isolated from resort (2-3km), but taxi's only 3-4 euros so no real problem.

"We were located in the annexe building which is very tired and in real need of upgrade. The main hotel is fine and the restraunt offers something for everyone.
A few days we had difficulty finding a sunbed but if you ask the pool attendant he will get some for you."

LYNN from SALFORD reviewed the Occidental Allegro Oasis Hotel
"Having read previous reviews, didn't really know what to expect. We had a great room (No 1), sun from 10.00 a.m. to past 5.00 p.m on the balcony. Facilities were excellent, staff worked really hard and place was really clean.
People mentioned the carpets - so what, they got you quietly from A-B and were not as bad as I expected. The "new" part of the building apparently had all tiled floors, but who wants to hear people clattering about above you. Food choices were excellent as were the opening times at The Buffet.
My only complaints were there was a choice of three channels out of 21 which were in English - Sky News, Fox and National Geographic. Go on, say it, what were we doing watching TV on holiday, but some nights you just want to chill out and not join in. Also, you can have one meal in either the Italian Restaurant or The Grill. We opted for The Grill as menu stated Fillet Steak. Booked and arrived at our slotted time only to find the menus had changed, so didn't stay as nothing on the menu suited us.
Entertainment was really good both in the way of the evening "cabaret" and the daily activities.
This place was great if you like to go away and sunbathe, drink and eat to your hearts content. It was quite a walk into Teguise (3 euros in taxi) and quite isolated. Nearest bar was a good 15-20 minutes walk away and at night it was very cold to go for a walk, but then again it was March.
All in all a good time was had and would probably go again for a quick, cheap break."
Top Tip:
"Too far to walk to but must have plenty in the town."

"we arrived at the occidental at 10.10am and was told we couldnt check into our room until 2.00pm so we went for alook around. we returned at 2.00pm, which by this point our two young children were very tried. we were told our room still wasnt ready, so this really wasnt a good start. we eventually got our room an hour later. the room i would say was average. the food we couldnt fault there was alot of choice day and night. the only thing i would say is the two a la carte resturants you have to book for, which there seemed to be some confussion. one resturant the grill was open wed and thursday and the italian fri and sat. we never got the chance to go into the italian as we tried to book but as you have to book on the day they were open it was first come first served. we didnt find this very good when you were entitled to a visit to both. i know we were in spain, but found the hotel to have alot of spanish holiday makers, and as holiday makers they are very rude and loud. the weekend the hotel had teams of basketball players from tenerife, gran canaria, and lanzarote all staying at the hotel and they just took over the buffet resturant and ate like they had never been fed before. staff pleasent enough. entertainment good for children and adults they had lots of different acts on. also the childrens club which was ran by the hotel was very good, my children only used it twice, as we were on holiday as a family."

"this wasnt up to 4 star standard- hotel was looking tired and in need of referb.- meals were ok but lacking in variety and quality.-pool area was good as was the staff. wouldnt visit it again the Barcelo over the road is a 4 star and having stayed there last year it makes this one only look like a 2/3 star"

"Don't be swayed by terrible internet reviews. We listened to moaning Brits while we were there...eggs too runny, carpets too walked on, swimming pool too cold.
If you want an excellent holiday, good food (cooked by Spanish chefs...sorry moaning Brits), brilliant evening entertainment then this is the holiday for you. The hotel was clean, spacious and very good value for money. Come on moaning Brits...if you want imperial accommodation then you'll have to spend more of your precious money. For all other reasonable, sound minded people...book now. You won't regret it!"
Top Tip:
"Hire a car from the airport rather than take a taxi or pay for a transfer. That way you get a hire car during your stay and can manage your own departure time from the hotel. Try Payless Hire Cars from the main airport."

"Nice hotel. Good choice of food and drinks. Impressed with our room as it was bigger than expected and had a good view of the pool and sea. Great Location. Only 30-40 minutes walk in to Costa Teguise along the sea front. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful."
Top Tip:
"It is worth getting the bus in to Puerto del Carmen. It only cost about 5 euros each return and takes about 30 minutes. Lovely beach there and loads of shops and restuarants. Bus stop right outside hotel."

"We were delighted with our sea view room & the peaceful japanese garden & internal tropical garden which we walked through on the same level as the reception area to reach it! We found our large balcony a haven as the pool area was overcrowded with sunbeds! The staff were all very pleasant.
The breakfasts were very good but did not vary enough. The All Inclusive worked very well - good value!"
Top Tip:
"We preferred to use the small beach for our swimming - easy to reach just outside the hotel back entrance!"

"Hotel begining to look a little tired, carpets shabby, loose bottoms to draws etc Entertainment needs improvement. Apart from the front desk, we found the staff a bit on the sullen side.
Evening meals were adequate but same dishes most nights."

"Kids club needs improving more interaction from staff needed, we hardly used the kids club(it was the first thing we looked for prior to booking holiday),well equipped however all indoors could have been outdoors with an addittional play area/pool.Should also have made more effort in the evening for kids prior to main show.
Food was poor, not enough variety in dishes.
We enjoyed the holiday however some simple changes would have made it more enjoyable.
Hotel could really do with a facelift in places,we do not think it was a 4 star rating"

"Food was okay but lacked imagination,we were lucky we stayed over new year as one meal was a gala evening for new years eve and we also were able to eat once in the grill restaurant and once in the Italian. The buffet restaurant was very basic for all meals."
