Very friendly owners. Accommodation was basic but adequate and very clean. The entrance road to the hotel has a sewage pipe on a wall from the hotel opposite and thats the only way you can walk so walking past it was not pleasant. It took a long time to cook rice as the hobs were electric and very low power had I knew they were poor would not have bothered buying any food from the shop at all and eat out every night.
Pool was lovely and breakfast was good. The first day we bought some Brothers cider they had randomly which was great but at 4.5 Euros was pretty steep and they will only allow food and drink purchased from the bar to be consumed by the pool area. It was a shame they could not have lowered the price just a bit as one would have purchased more from the hotel than from the shops which was 3 times cheaper.
Its very close to the shops being 2 minutes walk to a sainsburys and asda (they are not anything to do with the actual supermarkets) but not as near to the beach as I was expecting, its double the distance than advertised here being 1km away as the crow flies. This was a shame because its far enough to be too far to pop over to quickly in the morning and then go off and do the other things we wanted to do. If you are simply there to relax only on a beach all week then thats fine but we were there to try and indulge in some of the local culture.
Overall, the hotel was good but its the friendliness of Nik and George that makes it great but the same can be said to the majority of the greek people we met.
staff at rodos sun were helpful, the room was simple but reasonable and clean.we had little problem with ants.the beach is about 10-15 mins walk, town centre even closer.
we find a nice mexican restaurant- panchos- on the really end of the club street.bit expensive but huge portions and lovely food served.
Hotel was really nice and friendly, good family run hotel, made you feel welcome and at home, barbecue night was a good laugh as well, really nice people and great location for beach and for the night life, only 15mins walk away from everything.
There was a few nice restaurants, taverna which was on the main street, watch out for a guy with long hair think he looks cool and wears white shoes :-) Manelos is a Greek restaurant which is lovely little bit pricey but worth it.
Great location, away from the noise but close enough to walk into the centre of faliraki. 10 mins walk to the beach, Supermarkets round the corner, Great monday night BBQ well worth the money. Nick and George really look after you, Great pool and loads of sunbeds, large and very clean rooms.
Don't book a taxi transfer ! cheaper just to jump in a taxi at the airport.
We stayed at the Rodus Sun Apts in Faliraki -- brilliant holiday, complex although quite basic was kept very clean and tidy, the owners were absolutely wonderful, really nice, very friendly and welcoming people. I normally like to try somewhere different each year, but am thinking of going back next year and taking my daughter. Also Faliraki was great, its not full of wild drunks, I think the tourism is suffering out there slightly due to bad reports. My partner and I are both 43, we had a really great holiday.
We ate a lot of meals at the Greek Nectar restaurant on the main high road, lovely food and very friendly staff - I would highly recommend. Also we ate in a smaller Greek restuarant called Manolis, which was off a quiet back street heading more towards the beach, again excellent food and staff.
Great apartments, far enough away from the noise of the centre of faliraki that you cant hear the noise but close enough to walk to it (about 10 to 15 mins).Nick and his dad george was great and the monday night bbq was good.
The Rodos Sun was Excellent value for money, very clean & friendly couldnt ask for anymore. The Greek family who run this hotel are so friendly and helpfull.
The hotel is Aprox 10 min walk from the main area, nice quiet surroundings.
Basic appartments, 2 rings, basic utensils, fridge. No kettle, microwave have to take your own toilet roll because they do not replace it when used up. Appartments only cleaned every 2 days. Have to pay 5 euros a day for air conditioning. Family run appartments, Nick and his dad are very nice people. About 15 minutes walk to the strip and beach
Apartment is nice, but not what expected. I found it extremely small for 3 people to share and the self-catering facilities were farrr too small.
Stayed here many times. Always give us a great welcome. Very clean and well looked after
