"We have many times to this Hotel sometimes twice a year but the hotel did not seem to cope in the dining room. We queued and took what we wanted but then found we were looking for somewhere to sit,we havent had this before but it wouldnt put my wife and I going there again"

"After the initial stampede at mealtimes, the catering staff would close oneside of the buffet bar, leaving only half of the buffet for the rest of the hotel guests to stand in line and wait for their food, when dishes emptied you then had to wait around for the staff to eventually replace them and that wasn't done very quickly !.
Swimming pool seemed on the small side for the size of the hotel, but saying all this it is ok for the budget price we paid.
The lady on the reception desk was very friendly & helpful."

"The hotel is right across the rd from a lovely beach, not many people spoke english so ordering foor was fun. the hotel is very clean but was like being on a saga holiday everyone is over 60! there is not much to do in the area but a taxi to lorret is on 10 to 15 mins, thats where all the bars and rest's are. the food was nice, manly aimed for german people ect. pool is small but clean. direct train to barcelona just next to hotel. very cheep to eat and drink. beach is very clean though is littel pebbles abit like grit not sand. wouldnt go back to this resort though the hotel was pleasent very clean well worth the money that we paid for it anyway bargin!!"

"The arrangements made by Travel Republic were very good, flight arrangements very good and on time both ways and the transfers both ways very good.The hotel (Sorra Daurada) was good except for the restaurant -meal times chaotic, crowded, tables close together and the food basic, buffet style.The bar was very good and generally the Hotel was very smart and clean and if they sorted the restaurant it could be a 4* but no satellite TV in rooms. The hotel is in the middle of everything close to the beach,shops and bars and Malgrat is a decent resort probably suited to the older traveller."

"The hotel was very clean with friendly staff. The buffet meals were lovely, good variety of hot and cold and different every day. Good location near to the beech and on the front. Recommend at least going half board as the choice of places to eat outside is limited with limited menus."

"A group of young musicians (lots)we found to be very noisy!!! in fact they took over the hotel and had no consideration for others, hotel was ok. but full of germans, but considering we only paid £12 per person a night for half board,it was ok. the good thing is we were near the train station that went to barcelona in just over an hour. .very cheap also. on the whole good value for money. whole holiday only cost £170 including flights for 2 people,"

"The Hotel it's self was very good but restaurant was very poor, often waitng 20 mins or more for food to come out of the kitchen, even when it did was often cold. The breakfast service especially poor, we noticed a slight inprovement by the end of the week when more spanish filled the hotel."

"The Hotel was very clean. Rooms were cleaned daily and the staff friendly. Its not the Ritz but great value for money. We have paid more for a two night stay in York at a 3 star guest house than I paid for eight nights in Sunny Spain. Only let down was the food, buffet style as is now the norm. You can always find something to eat though. The bar area was very nice and the waiters always polite. All in all we enjoyed our stay here."

"Excellent value for money at this hotel. The lady at reception was very helpful, not sure of her name but I think she is English. Missed our evening meal due to late arrival. Was then offered dinner on a day of our choice in return. Paid £29 each for 3 nights half board, excellent. Asked for low floor, non smoking, sea view and sunny balcony on booking and was provided with all I ask for.( Room 121). Rooms were basic but cleaned every day. Only gripe was the paper thin walls in the hotel. Could even here next door snoring during the night."

"There is a train track between the hotel and the beach. The trains are frequent but were not noisy enough bother about. On the plus side the station was only a couple of hundred metres away which made visiting other resorts and cities easy. The fares are cheap and the trains clean and fast."
