"The Astro Hotel is well placed for the beach (5 mins walk) and all restaurants in the resort. The standard rooms are a bit on the small side, probably used to be single rooms.A bit cramped with two people . Our room overlooked the pool with a very small balcony.Would advise to book an apartment room here as ther are a lot bigger. The hotel staff were very good and friendly,but the owner on reception was abit on the grumpy side. The juccuzi and breakfast outside on the terrace were a welcome bonus. The hotel is on the main junction to kimari and ancient thira and there is some traffic noise but quiet at night.It is a good base for seeing rest of the island. Bus stop outside hotel to Thira costs 1.40 euros and run every half hour."
Top Tip:
"There are a lot of restaurants and bars which are very good . Had a good time talking to the people wanting us to come into their restaurants, good humoured and not pressured. Promanade is lined with bars and eating establishments for about half a mile.Kimari is a really relaxing resort with enough to do for a weeks holiday."Vila Astro Hotel check-in Date:

"Resort is lovely. Probably most suited to couples, although families would like it too. Not suitable for groups of young people as the entertainment is low key.
Accommodation and complex was very clean and had everything needed for an enjoyable stay. The only negative point was that you had to ask for the remote control for air conditioning and the television - it wasn't given out automatically. Also, the private jacuzzi had no water in it so was not available for use so the apartment shouldn't really be advertised as having one.
The swimming pool area was spotless and there were always sunbeds available, but maybe that was because we went at the beginning of the season when it's not so busy.
The apartments were ideally located, away from the noise of the main promenade but just two minutes walk to it and the sea.
Would certainly recommend the resort and accommodation to family and friends and might even go again next year."Top Tip:

"Hotel Astro was conveniently located, wihin close walking distance to the beach and restaurants.The bus stop to Thira/ Oia was directly outside the hotel. Our hotel rooms were clean and serviced daily. The staff were friendly."

"Kamari is a very friendly chilled part of Santorini-good beach, cool bars and great restaurants. Close enough to Fira if you fancy a shop or stroll around the cobbled streets. The Hotel Astro is 5 mins from the beach and vey clean and friendly-we have stayed there 4 times now."
Top Tip:
"Go to the restaurant Atmosphere for great food and service-more expensive than most in Kamari but worth it.
Don't rely on taxis as buses to Fira are great.

"This is an exceptionally well maintained and family friendly hotel. In fact it was a return visit as we were so impressed with the standards the year before. Location is brilliant as you are central to shops , bars and rerstaurants in Kamari without having all of the noise!! It is very clean and nothing is a bother to the staff who work there. I'd highly reccommend it."

"Position ideal for us: back from front and quiet. Swimming pool clean and not too busy: early July good time to go : I understand the busy season starts mid-late July: also weather ideal then. Every Greek taverna we ate in was good: reasonably priced with good food and good service. Cooking facilities at hotel very basic but charming terrace to have breakfast on outside shaded by bourganvillia. Confusingly though our booking specified B & B in maisonette ,: a rather embarassed staff member at Vila Astro said we should not be having breakfast : when we showed our booking confirmation they said its a mistake but you can have breakfast!!!"
Top Tip:
"Use the local buses to travel round : they are very reasonable and frequent.
Didn';t think the "active" volcano was worth the climb: it's very unimpressive although the scenery everywhere is superb. People friendly and helpful. I will definitely return to Santorini one day"Vila Astro Hotel check-in Date:

Hotel Details - Vila Astro Hotel
Virtually in the centre of Kamari, this family-run little complex is 5 minutes walk to the beach. Instead of the standard hotel rooms, you may prefer one of the fairly spacious apartments. Whichever you choose, it guarantees good standards as the property was totally refurbished a couple of years ago. It offers all modern facilities and access to all resort amenities.
Accommodation
The hotel has 43 rooms in total, all equipped with a safety deposit box (local charge), air-conditioning, direct dial telephone, satellite TV, fridge, hairdryer, ceiling fan, music, private bathroom and a balcony. Studios, maisonettes and apartments have in addition a fully equipped kitchenette.
Facilities & Services
