Leeds Bradford International Airport is Yorkshire's premier airport, with three million passenders a year passing through its single terminal. You can fly to a wide range of European destinations on a direct flight from Leeds Bradford Airport, and to hundreds of worldwide destinations through one of the 'hub' airports of London Heathrow, Amsterdam, Paris or Brussels.
- The Airport is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- It is signposted on all major roads over a wide area, including the M1 and M62 motorways and the Yorkshire section of the A1.
- There are regular bus services to Leeds, Bradford and Harrogate City Centres and an hourly coach service to York City Centre
- Bradford is 7 miles away to the south-west, Leeds is 11 miles south-east, and both cities are around a 45-minute trip by bus from the airport
- Through tickets are available from most train stations in the United Kingdom to the Airport travelling via Leeds City Rail Station, Bradford Interchange or York City Station. Connections to and from the Airport can be made by the MetroConnect Bus Services and Yorkaircoach
- In 1987, LBA was converted into a limited company under the provisions of the Airports Act 1986 and the five metropolitan councils of West Yorkshire became the shareholders of the new company. Leeds and Bradford each own 40% and Wakefield, Calderdale and Kirklees share equally the remaining 20%.
- In 1996 the Airport saw its millionth passenger, and in 2005 just over 2.6 million passengers passed through the Airport.
