The Alagoa Mar Apartments features 63 air-conditioned apartments (46 one bed apartments and 17 studios) decorated simply in light colours with bright fabrics and light oak furnishings. All rooms are equipped with private bathroom/shower, telephone, air conditioning, local TV, Satellite TV channels, safety deposit box, central heating and terrace or balcony.

We had a room on the front of the hotel which meant it was nearly impossible to use the balcony.
When we arrived I pointed out I was asthmatic and could I have a room facing the pool away from the fumes of the traffic. A well mannered gentleman said he would check but I should have requested it when booking. It was not possible to change . The room was reasonable but had no toaster, or kettle or any brushes to tidy up with.
There was no water the next morning until later in the day as there had been a water leak near to our room and there was a towel on the floor outside our room.
We complained about the noise when the water was switched on around us (sounded like an airlock in the pipes). The lady receptionist was very rude and questioned everything we said in an aggressive manner.
The bar closed for the low season and all the tables and chairs disappeared.This left only dirty wet sunbeds and so nowhere to sit outside along with no decent balcony made it not what you would expect of a 4 star hotel.
We have visited Albufeira over 20 times in the past 12 years and this proved to be a very poor choice
“ Top Tip: There are a few good restaurants behind the town hall turning left at the Brisa Sol. Taxis are very easy and cheap to use.

“ nice hotel though not a 4star, good location from the strip and the old town, the old town a lot better than the strip. lovely beaches at the old town and the strip. i would stay at this hotel again.
“ Top Tip: a cheap restaurant next door to this hotel good food and the local people use it, its self service then your plate of food is weighed before you pay, also good breakfast not self service until midday.

“ This hotel is located bang smack in the middle with only a ten minute walk to either The Strip or The Old Town either way. Probably not suitable for older people because there would be quite a lot of walking up and down hills to get where you want to go. The accommodation was excellent. We stayed in an apartment overlooking the pool. It looked like it had just been done up as everything was new.

“ Rooms are spacious, modern and well equipped. It is a shame that the bar is only open daytimes, it is a pleasant bar that would be good open in the evening.
“ Top Tip: The food at Isa's pizza across the road was good.

Modern apartment complex with stylish interiors situated in Santa Eulalia, just a few metres from the beaches of Oura and Santa Eulalia and the resort centre, with bars, restaurants, shops and nightlife. Services provided are of the highest standard. All apartments feature satellite TV, direct-dial telephone, oven, microwave, toaster. This resort also offers a snack bar, pools for adults and children. One bed apts all have pool view Sudios have pool view or land view
“ nice clean hotel - would recommend it reception were always very friendly about 15 mins walk to the strip and 40-50 mins walk to the old town and 10 or so mins to other eating drinking places toaster didnt work - that was the only grumble other than that it was pleasant hotel

The Ouratlantico Apartments offers excellent value for an outstanding hotel in Portugal's much loved tourist spot Albufeira. Perfectly situated in peaceful Praia de Oura yet close enough to the famous Strip bustling with international restaurants, bars, clubs and cosmopolitan shops. This hotel is only a short 500m from one of Portugal's world famous family friendly golden sandy beaches. Local tips: Albufeira is steeped in history not all of it Portugese, indeed the name Albufeira is actually Arabic in origin and translates to mean "Sea Castle", and you can see from looking around the old quarters some of the original castles' remains - specifically near the walled part along the Rua Joaquim Pedro Samora and further down the same road you will come across 2 tiled plaques which mark the spot where 2 of the original doors to the walled city would have stood. Look around the old town and you are sure to see lots of other markers of other times and eras.
“ We were very surprised when we arrived at Ouratlantico Apartments as the deal was excellent. The standard of the rooms surpassed our expectations considering the price we paid. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the location was ideal for visiting the strip, although far enough away to be quiet and peaceful.
