“ For a 1 star hotel, this is pretty good. I've only ever stayed in cheap hotels/hostels, and this has to be one of the best quality I've ever stayed in for the money. Location: perfect! Right on the Plaza Tendillas, one of the main squares in the centre, about 10 min walk away from the Mezquita, 5 mins walk to the Juderia (old Jewish quarters) on 1 side of the square and to the other side of it, just a few mins walk till you're in the other part of the old town. Square busy until all hours of the night, so you feel safe. Surrounded by bars and restaurants. Right next to a cheap supermarket too (Dia), so good if you have a low budget for food. Main bus/train stations about 15 min walk away, so not too far, and the walk itself is nice, through the main shopping streets and parks in the centre. Room itself: lovely, the bathroom was beautifully tiled, not what I'd expect for the price. Really sunny and bright, but long thermal blackout curtains which totally block out the light and also cool the room right down if that's what you want. Safe in the room which you can get a key for if you pay 50Cents. Staff very polite. I was never bothered by noise from anyone, so the walls to the rooms must be quite soundproof, as I did hear a few people walking down corridors etc so there must've been quite a few people there at the same time as me.
“ Top Tip: Food can get quite pricey if you're only ever eating from bars/restaurants, so if you're on a budget and want to find a supermarket, there's a Dia (one of the cheapest in Spain) just off the Plaza Tendillas, behind the hotel. You can buy 2l bottles of water for about 25 cents there, instead of paying a fortune for small bottles in the cafes etc. It took me a while to work this out - if you want some kind of snack, like a pie or something (which you don't really get in Spain) at lunchtime but don't have much money and don't want to spend about 6 Euros for a bocadillo and soft drink in a cafe/bar, look for Napolitanas. They look like the chocolate croissants you buy in UK but can be filled with different things eg ham and cheese (jamon y queso). You can get them for about 1 Euro. You can also buy them in bakers shops.

“ Good hotel in all respects as far as facilties are concerned. Breakfast was excellent. Ask for a room on the back as the ones on the front are on a main road and can be very noisy. The hotel is close to all the tourist attractions and within walking distance.

This charming hotel is spread over 3 floors and comprises 26 rooms, of which 9 are apartments/ studios. On entering the hotel, guests will arrive in the lobby area offering 24-hour reception service with a safe and a lift. An air-conditioned restaurant is available within the hotel and three typical Andalusian style patios invite guests to wile away the hours. Those arriving by car may opt to park in the car park or garage and a bike storage facility is also on offer. Medical assistance is available on request.
“ Excellent location for visiting the Mesquita and plenty of eating places nearby. Rooms clean andthe staff very friendly, also nice decor around the hotel. Slghtly strange arrangement for breakfast, as had to walk up the road 50yds or so to the Hostal Maestre. Breakfast a bit basic, but tortilla and bacon good and staff very friendly. Excellent value for money.
