"Centrally located, clean hotel with good breakfast buffet and rooftop cafe with views of the Acropolis. Good value family run hotel, near the Plaka and metro station."
Top Tip:
"Hermion restaurant in the Plaka, in a courtyard just off the Ermou, has great food - we saw lots of Greek families eating there at Sunday lunchtime, and a singer/guitarist on Saturday evening."

"Good value for a central location, basic but added benefits of roof bar & free internet access for 20 mins. Comfortable & clean. Limited wardrobe & drawer space, rooms are quite small, fine for a few nights, but could be more difficult for a long stay."

"Having stayed at this hotel booking directly with them on numerous occasions I can only assume that they must keep 'Special rooms' for people that book through agents like yourself. We booked a double room and a single room with balconies but were given a twin room and a family room with three single beds! We were not happy at all!"

Good price. Stayed 4 weeks later on way home just turned up on chance and paid more!
Breakfast basic but adequate."
Top Tip:
"Close to metro for airport and pireaus. Loads of tavernas in area. close to flea market and all felt safe.
Fantastic to relax on rooftop with view of Acropolis after day sightseeing.
Stayed 3 times and will be back. Just love area."

"The Attalos through Athens guides and it comes highly recommended for a budget 'class C' accommodation. It is reasonably priced and in a fantastic location. It's right near the Metro Station and Monastiraki Flea Market and Square. It's buzzing at night with lots of restaurants and shops nearby.

The double room was sizable, and had air conditioning, a safe and a fridge, and a balcony (ours had a view of the Acropolis). Breakfast was not included in the price, but it gave us an excuse to get out and find a cup of Greek coffee in the mornings. We found ourselves going to the rooftop bar every afternoon or evening after a long day out and found it extremely relaxing to take in the view of the Acropolis with a refreshing cocktail in hand.

I was very happy with the Attalos."

Located close to the bustle of the main market, within walking distance of Omonia Square and the Plaka, it is just the mark for those in search of value and location combined. Accommodation is basic but the hotel prides itself on attention to detail and first class service. Spacious, spotlessly clean bedrooms are simply decorated in a pleasant Mediterranean style with tiled floors and white walls. Impressive panoramic views of Athens can be enjoyed from the hotel's charming rooftop bar.
