  • "This is a great value for money hotel in the centre of Palma. It is near the Placa de Espangol and quite difficult to find if you are on foot and we had to ask a few people the way. We arrived hot and tired and entered a lovely clean air conditioned lobby just as local boy Nadal had won Wimbledon - what a moment! Rooms were clean and functional and the beds were fine. Situated in a nice quiet residential area with Spanish shops and bars. The photo on the website does it no favours as we were expecting some sort of hostal type building but it is more of a boutique type of hotel. The breakfast is very basic - continental (1 croissant, 1 roll) but it was enough for us. I don't know if they would have done cereal or cooked if asked. The only thing we found strange is that people were allowed to smoke in the hotel which, coming from England, we are not used to. But definitely a good value for money hotel as a base for sightseeing in Palma."

  • "Fine. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was basic, but we had booked a cheap hotel so it was to be expected to some degree - good coffee though!"

  • Top Tip:

    "Boveda tapas bar near Plaza LLotja is fantastic - we got there just after 9 and it was heaving, which is unusual as people normally eat later, but it doesn't open until 8.30. A mix of Mallorcans, Spanish, English and German people were there when we were, with a guitarist wandering round playing music. The food and the drinks are reasonably priced. I'm vegetarian (still choice for me, although the white bean stew did come with sausages!), but apparently the dates wrapped in bacon are a must! Enjoy..."

  • "Stayed here for one niight area looked run down 40 minute walk to the centre, hotel very basic but clean. Would have been very dissapointed if it had been for longer than one night. Staff helpful though and location probably played a lot in the negative feedback."

Hotel Details - Abelux Hotel

The small but comfortable Abelux Hotel will appeal to those who like to be in the thick of the action. Palma is the capital city on the island of Mallorca and is the most historical with large and impressive buildings, including a Cathedral. There are narrow, clean streets, quiet courtyards and a harbour. The Passeig d`es Born is a wide avenue and the cities main promenade, lined with large trees. This is one of the beautiful parts of Palma and has many shops, restaurants, cafes and bars.
