Elaine from Thurso reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"The hotel and especially the staff were excellent. They couldn't do enough for us and were very friendly. They were very good with our children and made them feel very at ease. The Hotel was very clean and reasonably modern. There was a variety of food and it was at a good standard. Lots to choose from and we generally didn't have a problem finding something to eat, especially with two young children who can be very particular in what they want to eat. The entertainment was pretty standard and was more geared for French or Spanish speakers, even though the entertainment guides did try to enclude anyone who spoke English."
Top Tip:
"A good place to visit if you have younger children was Jungle Park, the birds of prey display, the jungle trail and all of the animal displays a must. You needs a whole day but definately worth while going. This can be arranged at the hotel. A visit to Aqualand is also a must, the dolphin show was excellent. Another Good place to visit for a meal was a restaurant called "Big Al's". Turn right outside the hotel and follow the road round to the right. Run by Scots and the food was excellent. The two Irish bars near the hotel were also very friendly and very good."
Matthew from Attleborough reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"Nice hotel - Quiet location okay for quiet break but if you want more than its not the place to go, only ten minutes taxi from airport, good choice of food unlike some of the reviews, perfect for a quiet relaxing week away. entertainment is a massive let down in the evenings dont like to moan but god its bad!!!!!"
Top Tip:
"The beach club pool is very nice and on the days we were there quiet the only thing they should do is open a bar down there you have to keep walking back for cold drinks and in that heat mid to late 30's they are warm by the time you get back. "
Emil from Westhoughton reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"I have been given a lower rate accommodation on arrival, the Aguamarina appartments (3 keys rating).
Please see separate email sent to customer relations explaining the problem. "
Claire from Hartlepool reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"We stayed in the new apartments. They are fantastic. Would recommend to anyone. Go to Sand Blas rather than eat in the local restaurants as they are all rather average but all in all a fantastic place. "
anthony from evesham reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"the hotel was excellent, there are a few restaurants nearby, very warm welcome from staff. close by to a couple of very resonably priced golf courses. highly recommend"
David from Sacriston reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"Only stayed one night as alternative accommodation booked from 4th April - so did not have time to get a good look at the hotel - but initial impressions were very good."
Anna from Boston reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"very clean and very polite staff, we paid extra to eat in the BBQ restaurant in the hotel and it was a disaster. The regular restaurant is good with lots of choice, fully inclusive is the best option as not much choice outside of the hotel. We spent a lot of money on Taxis. But this was a very well run spacious clean apartment hotel."
Top Tip:
"The walk along the front by the sea is amazing really breathtaking.
Go all inclusive
local supermarkets are small but very helpful.
duty free much cheaper is bigger resorts"
DIANE from NOTTINGHAM reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"Would definitely recommend staying at these above average apartments attached to a 4 star hotel where your evening meals are taken. The staff are ultra friendly and go out of their way to make you welcome. We asked for a room on a high floor with sea view and sunny aspect - that is exactly what we got. Rooms either have sun in the morning or in the evening depending on what side you are. Would recommend to anyone and we will definitely be going back. We would also recommend going half board or all inclusive as the meals taken in the hotel are good. The apartments on the left hand side have a great view of the harbour."
Top Tip:
"Try a trip to El Medano and the fishing village of Los Abrigos is good for fish.
Pedro's restaurant in the Winter Gardens (Bowling Rink) serves excellent paella."
Ann Marie from Paisley reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"Only thing I would say is we were not advised before we went Saga hotel and age group was obviously old. Hotel however was really good and food good."
Ian from Enfield reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"When we first arrived we were put in a room backing on to building works with workmen walking past along a walkway just a few feet away from our balcony. We asking for a move but hotel could not give us a new room until our second night. We were very happy with the new room and had no compaints whatsoever about this. We were also very satisfied with the food in the restautant, both in terms of selection and quality. The only criticism was the coffee at breakfast which we found tastless and could not drink. We also found the entertainment in the evening very good. "
David from Bath reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"A 'good' rather than exceptional hotel (we have been previously).
Pro: Cleanliness, quick response to requests, spaciousness.
Anti: Food 'dumbed down' for the mass market (i.e. flavourwise) and tended to be 'cool' rather than hot. NO MENTION in your details of the fact that it is primarily french.....rather off putting to many Brits as regards evening entertainment! This should be referred to."

"Any of the local fish restaurants in Los Abrigos (local fishing village)"
ALAN from WESTHILL reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"It was a Hotel that we booked but we were allocated a 3 star apartment next door (at least 300m from the hotel). We received our breakfat at the apartment restuarant but had to go to the hotel for lunch and dinner. We found this most unsatisfactory as my wife is handicapped and that was the reason we booked a 4 star all inclusive hotel but that was not what we received. "
"Found the apartments [only open since December2007] excellent very comfortable. The staff we found very friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble. The food at the apartments and the hotel was good, plenty of choice. We only decided at the last moment for a weeks break but it turned out to be a very good and relaxing holiday. We never go back to the same venue but would consider going back again to these apartments for a week s break. "
James from Edinburgh reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"Pity about new buildings and continuing costruction work in the area, however this was our 6th or 7th visit and the really friendly staff (great fun in the Hotel Bar), lovely big room with balcony and view, good food, decent wine at reasonable prices, excellent pool and terrific weather for January made it a super and very relaxing holiday."
Top Tip:
"Pata de Oro Tapas Restaurant in San Blas is excellent (15 mins walk from hotel or 4 euro taxi)
Wild Geese Bar (c300 yards from Hotel) has live music every night, some of it very good."
harold from conwy reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"Spacious apartments, brand new. Patio doors had a lock on only one side which we did not realise until we opened the doors from the other side on the last day. Only concerned because access can be gained from the balconies. Could not figure how to use the air conditioning.
No complaints, we had a good holiday and the courtesy bus service to Las A was a bonus.
Suggest the hotel supplies a printer in the Internet area. We needed to print off our boarding pass for our return flight and the only place that had the facility was in the San Blas Centre which is a good 30 minute walk"
steven from west sussex reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"very pleased with the resort area and the hotel, very nice not to stay in the busier areas and in a clean and modern resort. We are very pleased with everything, food was very good and even my little boy who can be fussy was spoilt for choice. would recommend anyone to go here."
Jodi from Lincoln reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel

"apts are brand new and really lovely.staff are very nice especially on reception.
No complaints about apts all great value for money. we were bed and breakfast but for the price we paid the breakfast was fine.all in all lovely apts in great spot"
Top Tip:
"harbour lights restaurant on the sea front is lovely and if u turn left when you come out of the apts there is a lovely chinese a few meters down the road. The food in the irish bar is also very good."
Maureen from Benfleet reviewed the Aguamarina Golf Hotel
"We stayed at the Aguamariana Golf Apartments which were fantastic and had everything one could want. There wasn't any air conditioning working so that proved a problem at nights when it was too warm to leave the patio doors closed so we had to leave them open which meant that we were bitten by mosquitos which due to the attraction of the outside lights which were left on all night from
6.30 until 9.30 the next morning.
The food in the Hotel was not too good which was mainly cold and not much variety especially at lunch times which we didn't have many times so were forced to eat out which was costly,
The Courtesy Bus which ran at 9.30, 11.30 and 3.15 was okay but there were only two return buses which meant a lot of people were using taxis which again was very costly.
My conclusion is that although the Apartments were lovely, they were too isolated and they would have been far more enjoyable had they been situated in a busier area!"
