Joan from Elgin reviewed the Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments
"The hotel was what was advertised, but as previous reviews stated it is in need of being mordernised. And as advertised it is on a hill and is definately not for the faint hearted.
The staff were very friendly.
If returning I would definately pay the extra for a sea view apartment."
Top Tip:
"There are some lovely restaurants in town and one of our favourites was the restaurant that was owned by the proprietor that had the Blue Bar. Also Za Za was very nice, especially the Sushi."
Michelle from Hornchurch reviewed the Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments
"Once we got over the initial shock of no proper beds in our apartment we were very pleased with the room. It was compact but bright and clean. The location is good if you enjoying walking as the Old Town and Beach were around 15/20 minutes walk away down many steps and hills - quite strenuous on the way back up! We didn't use the pool area as it was rather crowded and not very inviting."
Top Tip:
"Top tip - if you don't enjoying walking or have difficulties this is not the hotel for you. The lower apartments may be an option but there are still many steps back up to the complex."
L R from Cambridge reviewed the Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments
"The staff both on reception and around the pool area were very rude most of the time.
The pool area got very hectic and dangerous due to there being lots of young people
obviously on cheap breaks away from their families probably for the first time.
But considering what we paid for the holiday the rooms were ok and what we expected. We took ourselves away from the complex most of the time. We won't
be going back to the complex again mainly due to its distance away from the resort."
Top Tip:
"The local beach is great for families and zoomarine is fantastic."
rachael from huddersfield reviewed the Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments
"excellent value for money, staff friendly and did everything they could to help us, brillient pol area and fantastic well rpiced restaurent in the complex. would certainly return or recommend."
Michele from Hoddesdon reviewed the Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments
"Great location, 5/10 min walk to the beech and the old town which was very busy loads of restaurants and bars. Only thing was that the walk back to hotel was up many steep hills and steps which was abit of nuisance in the heat and not mentioned in the description, definately not suitable for older people or anyone with walking difficulties. The room was very clean and spatious, cleaned every day but the beds consisted of a sofa which had to be made by ourselves into 2 beds which turned out to be very hard and uncomfortable, there was also no air conditioning available so hard to sleep but other than that nice rooms and nice surroundings, gardens pretty and pool area was nice although had to pay for sun beds!! Overall a good value holiday, for the price it was very nice and clean and close to the old town centre."
Top Tip:
"Try the fish soup in the portugese restaurants was delicious, and a lovely japanese restaurant if you like that sort of food is right in the centre of the old town."
IAN from LEEDS reviewed the Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments
"The apartments, were very pleasing. They were friendly and welcoming. It had everything that was needed from a apartment complex and more. I thought it was excellent for children as it had a seperate games area and small park for children. The entertainment on a night was good. "
Top Tip:
"The hotel is a short walk from the main centre of albufeira which is full of nice bars and restaurants. It would be hard to choose just one or two special places near the hotel as something special is always close. There is however, a very interesting museum nearby, situated on the right when walking from the apartments, about halfway down the main street to the square which is worth a look around."
Lucy from Galashiels reviewed the Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments
"The pool facilities at the hotel were great however the room was very unsatisfactory. There were no proper beds, no air conditioning and the room permanently smelt of smoke (after us requesting a non smoking room) We asked to be moved room however the hotel were unable to do this for us and as we were staying for a week we didnt want to spend lots of time trying to resolve this."
Sarah from Manchester reviewed the Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments
"Nice, clean apartment, very spacious. Beds were a little uncomfortable but not terrible. Pool area was very clean and no battles for sunbeds, that had mattresses available for a small charge. Food was good as was service. Good location, on a slight hill but 5 minute walk to beach and centre of old town. Overall, excellent value for money."
Joanne from Cardiff reviewed the Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments
"The apartments are dated and a bit shabby but, cleaned daily. The pool area, bar and restaurant was very good. The apartments are situated on a hill above Albufeira Old Town, approx 5 minutes down and 10 back up. I didn't find the hill a problem but wouldn't recommend it to anyone with walking difficulties."
Caroline from Wimborne reviewed the Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments
"The location of the hotel was perfect, it was only about 10 minutes away from the main town and the beach. The apartment room itself was basic, but it was fine for a few days. The studio we stayed in was one room that was a lounge, bedroom and kitchen all in one with a separate bathroom, but we had a huge balcony! The rest of the hotel was great, the staff all speak really good english and are really friendly. We had some difficulty's on our first day with the reception staff but it all got sorted in the end. The hotel is on a hill so if you do venture into town it's ok to walk there as it's all downhill but maybe get a taxi back, it only cost us around 4 Euros. I would definitely recommend this hotel to people who are not fussy and don't spend a long period of time in their room! "
Top Tip:
"Take your own pillow! They hotel ones provided are not comfortable! very lumpy! There are some great resurants in town we went to Pampas Steakhouse in the main square which was lovely (really good cocktails), and lots of local bars in the town also do great cocktails! "
patricia from Warrington reviewed the Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments
"Very clean apartments, however the only 2 bed apts are right at the top of the hill and a night club starts up at 11.30 every night until 3am. The complex advise that this is nothing to do with them so the volume cannot be turned down."
John from Heywood reviewed the Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments
"The hotels furniture, fixtures and fittings and decoration seem to have been done in the seventies, and they have not been upgraded or changed since.
The apartments were cleaned daily with beds made and fresh towels, the staff were all helpful and polite.
We enjoyed our stay in the hotel and would recommend it, we certainly would use it again."
Carol from London reviewed the Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments
"Very clean apartments, with good facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location with easy access to the town and beach areas. Would definately recommend these apartments!"
Top Tip:
"Recommend wandering the side streets and trying the local restaurants. O'Valerios and the Cave were very good for meals / drinks. Beautiful beach to wander along and see the cliffs etc. "
Mark from Bradford reviewed the Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments
"I just came across Travel Republic ont internet, but am pleased to say I got through to them on the phone straight away - I rang them to check them out! No problems with tickets, travel and transfers (which were particularly good). All very smooth. Would definitely use them again!
About the holiday... Before travelling, I couldn't understand what was going on with Jardim I, Jardim II & what we booked: Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments (this turned out to be Jardim I, & it's just a bit closer to the Old Town!)
Room fine, if a little tired. Take the covers off the settee, which are twin beds & pull round to make a permanent double bed. There's only a heater for hot water, so plan your showers! Pool area nice & very spacious. Bloke said that the beer in the bar was nicer than every where else, food very good quality.
The apartments stretch out nicely over the hillside & then you have a pleasent 10min walk down through narrow streets & find yourself in the modern main square of the Old Town with lots of shops & boutiques. Carry on along & you hit the soft sandy beach (with no loungers!)
It's all very nice, clean & a cut above what we were expecting.
Plenty of nice restaurants, including Cabana Fresco overlooking the beach & Asian fusion at Za Za's in the square. Also spent a few late nights at the 'Rock Cafe' who have a great resident live band!
Didn't venture up to 'The Strip' as enough to occupy us in the Old Town and we were only there 5 nights (not enough Leave left for a longer break unfortunately!)
Weather was surprisingly good, sunny throughout our stay & about 26 during the day -got a proper tan! Pretty cool at night at this time of year -you will need a woolley, but consequently.., no mozzies!
Taxis and buses are a breeze and they even have a Noddy Train (always a plus eh?!)
In summary, I would definitely go back, but maybe a tad earlier, say Sept/Oct."
