  • Colin from Kidlington reviewed the Alcudia Garden Hotel

  • "We booked this hotel purely for the pool which we saw and lusted over whilst staying at the Condes, and were not disappointed, the pool is fantastic. If only the rooms were as well! Although clean and tidy, there was no double glazing and as we were in a room approx 2 metres from the roadside, the nightime traffic and people shouting made sleep very difficult. The staff were very pleasant and extremely good with children. The evening entertainers were also the best we have come across so far in the six years of holidaying in Majorca. We were all inclusive and were surprised to find that there were no snack bars inbetween mealtimes or late into the evening. The food was adequate as long as you didn't mind garlic, or similar dishes every evening. This hotel is a favourite for Germans/Scandinavians and about 98% of the guests were from these parts of the world, therefore you can forget about getting hold of a sunbed until approx 4pm in the afternoon. Overall we had a really great holiday and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Would we go back again? Probably not, no fault of the hotel, mainly due to been there, done that now lets try something else!"

  • IAN from FERRYHILL reviewed the Alcudia Garden Hotel

  • "Very basic apartments (no toaster or kettle), but clean and tidy. Bar prices a bit pricey. Never tried the food as went self catering. Ideal location for beach and port area of alcudia. Lots of German residents (about 75%) and even more mosquitos. Take plenty of repellant and plug ins."

  • Top Tip:

"Go to Gavins bar, in the port area. Good food and pleasant hosts Gavin, Leanne and Alwynn."

  • "A very nice and clean hotel with good size rooms and a large pool. We got a free upgrade when we arrived as we went in the low season. The hotel is located very close to the beach and about a 3 minute walk from the main restaurants and bars in the resort."

  • "The hotel staff were really helpful and very welcoming, the apartment and hotel facilities were beyond our expectations, very comfortable, very close to the beach and the area was very enjoyble to stay in."

  • Top Tip:

"The beach was literally across the road from the hotel and it was a beautifully kept resort. there was go-karting and lots of trips to go on with a great excursions company, british-run "no frills excursions" they were brilliant!"

  • Mark from Leyland reviewed the Alcudia Garden Hotel

  • "We took a last minute cheap break for six days, me, my wife and daughter 18, we hired car from Palm Airport SIXTH Car Hire which was cheap too , the hotel apartment room was clean, basic with kettle that you used on stove, two rings, microwave and fridge, they changed sheets 3 times , we had a balcony looking across to port and beach , some traffic noise , but ok, we used the resturant (buffet) a few nights and the pizzaria but were fine and then ate at various takeaways near hotel , daughter and I we went on bike hire/ride to Bonaire/Alcudia organised by Staff team....really good the gardens/pool were attractive and my wife and daughter enjoyed relaxing by pool, the hotel was pretty quiet , staff on reception were very pleasant and helpful , however we knew the area and we planned our own trips and sightseeing , the beach just 100 yards a away was clean , and there was a pleasant walk to marina and shops able to park car near to hotel on side street could be busy in summer. overall we had a great time, good base for sight seeing especially the north of the island . I would imagine the hotel and resort would be busy in main season , overall good value basic accomodation suited us fine would go again"

  • Top Tip:

"We found a cheap supermarket ( avoid Spars they are expensive ) used by locals just a few minutes from hotel , if you want football big screen acheck out Comics British Pub in port, the Hotel Pizzaria was really nice, the buffet was good value in resturant, and we ate at Chinese and Indian very welcoming and food was good., if you get stuck for milk etc the local garage is 24 hour opening . recommend walk to Alcudia Old Town and visit market , hire a bike from hotel and go to Bonaire and Alcanada , if you want to go a little farther visit Pollenca, Port de Pollenica and if you hire a car go to Formentor and the northern mountains.....Luca and Soller if you are thinking of travelling to Palma for day out - handy hint park at Inca or one of the other towns on main train line its free to park, the trains are cheap and take you right into centre of Palma and you can catch train to Soller "

  • C from Palmers Green reviewed the Alcudia Garden Hotel

  • "7th-12th april 2008. Staff were friendly, had a late flight, so when we arrived was very tired, and dissapionted to know there were no lifts, had to lugg everything upstairs plus a pram, stayed in block 2, which was the only block to have some kind of smelly bin smell, which also had a lot of mosquitoes flying around in the stairwell because of this, hence why we all got bitten by them in our rooms. Tip:dont leave your room door open as they seem to be very quick to get in. Hotel pools outside were very very cold, and the small baby pool didnt seem to be cleaned, i have a very fussy 3year old, who wouldnt get in it beacuse everyday the leaves were still in the bottom of the pool. Hotel has an inside pool, which is good, just not that big at all. Wasnt any entertainment on at hotel that we saw anyway, didnt eat at hotel, oh except their gardino pizza restraurant which is on sideof the hotel, they also do room service at no extra charge for delivery."

  • Top Tip:

"Cant remember names of cafes but there were a few we ate at on the beach right by the hotel, as soon as you come out the hotel cross over the road and the second exit to the beach there are three or four restuarants there, nice food, reasonable prices. Best place to eat though is the pizzeria right opposite the hotel, good food, great pizza's and pasta dishes, good prices"

  • Robert from Rugeley reviewed the Alcudia Garden Hotel

  • "Facilities for self-catering almost non-existent. No kettle, toaster or basics like tin-opener etc. Only work surface near cooker is draining board of sink. Only 1 wooden dining chair and 2 plastic garden chairs for sitting so in 2 weeks the only comfortable sit down was in the ford KA hire car. Rooms seperated by door (to extend into suites) so no problem keeping in contact with the neighbours, and the satelite TV consists of 11 channels, 5 Spanish, 5 German 1 English (and thats Eurosport), also, there are NO local English language radio channels so only contact with outside world is BBC world service (15.4Mhz and 17.83Mhz) if you have a general-coverage receiver!. They have WIFI installed but the staff don't know how it works. I asked one person on reception for access, she didn't know what WIFI was, the other girl was a lot "quicker" and said its not available, I showed her my screen which suggested I asked in reception rfor a username & password but got "blank"."

  • Top Tip:

"Beach is very close and great, also very close to main shopping area without being too noisy. Take a good Swiss army knife, also we packed a toaster (£3.80 from Argos) and left it with other guests when leaving. If your into camping you will get by but there are better hotels very close to this one at comparable rates!."

  • MICHAEL from SKELMERSDALE reviewed the Alcudia Garden Hotel

  • "The hotel was clean and presentable though out dated and in need of modernisation. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was only 1 English tv channel which was Eurosport and to which was annoying. The kitchen could and should have a kettle and proper sized cups as standard. The bath tub was tiny and you could not fit an adult in in though there was a shower in the bathroom. Other than that the hotel was fine."

  • Top Tip:

"The beach is very clean and very close but there was nowhere to get a drink (alcohol or water) unless you went out of your way to the town. The town was quiet but came to life at weekends. Nowhere opens until 10am for eating purposes (breakfast) though you could get a breakfast at the hotel from 0800hrs. I found that you could not get an evening meal until around 1900hrs as everywhere was closed. The town was getting itself ready for the peak summer period by painting and refurbing everthing from the benches to some of the shops, bars etc..... I went to Allacudia for a long weekend and had been to Magalluf the year before. Magalluf was very busy, clean and full of life with plenty to see and do whereas Allacudia is a more laid back, clean and relaxed part of the island and to which there is not a lot to do for familys with young children. • "We enjoyed our stay at the Alcudia Garden Hotel. We did go out of season in March so it was very quiet and didn't have it's full schedule of entertainment but the location was great close to the beach and shops. We requeted a ground floor room and pool view and got both so very happy!"

  • Top Tip:

"We had a car for the week so explored the island as much as possible and found some beautiful beaches - Cala D'Or & Port De Soller are well worth a visit. The island is very pretty and the views on the mountain roads are amazing."

  • "Good for the given rating. Very helpful staff. (but not every member of the staff!!!) Not all the rooms with pool/sea view. Be careful.... on arrival if no ground floor or pool view room is available, you will be asked to pay if you wish to change the room although you have paid for it/ requested for it in your itinery. They wont listen and will make you pay...."

  • Top Tip:

"Beach nerby is a bay... not a proper beach although it is very very big but still if you love waves, this is not for you. Easy access to beach, nearby restaurants and local supermarkets."

  • "When I booked the holiday I paid extra for a self catering room which on arrival and checking into our room we found it was not. I particularly wanted a self catering room and so I explained at the reception desk what had happened and could we please change rooms and they said no!!! Apparently all salf catering rooms were unavailable, which was a load of rubbish as the hotel was half empty! I was very annoyed and wont ever be booking with yourselves again! I paid a lot of money for something I did not get!!"

  • Nicholas from Tyldesley reviewed the Alcudia Garden Hotel

  • "Indoor pool was an important plus due to the time of the year, the outdoor pool showed great potential, plenty of loungers but unfortunately we were there early in the season so not warm enough. We would definately return later in the season. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance and the beach was only a short walk across one road."

  • Top Tip:

"Can recommend the in-house italian restaurant - Giordana. Gorgeous food. Recommend trying to book a room facing the outdoor pool as quieter"

  • "The hotel that we stayed in was lovely, well worth the money. The reception staff were very helpful and the amenitys were great. However, the onsite restuarant, although the food was quite nice - buffet, the waiters were rather rude to us: infact they seemed rather rude towards English people and no so rude to the Spanish and German people staying there. This caused some upset to us, unfortnunately as we were staying out of season there
