"For the cost--it ain't all that bad.... If you get a room (looking at the hotel from the street!), to the right and back... theres a rooster that likes to "sing all hours"!!!! So take your ear plugs, as the door to room 311 didn't fit correctly--gaps! The food is repetivite, but we ate out a few times, which we would have done in a 3 star hotel.. Staff were friendly, but there was lack of staff at the bar during the afternoon--but ask at reception then no problem. As for kids,, mine are 15 and 11, they played table tennis and pool all evening, living without a tv didn't seem to bother them. "

"I was disapointed that we did not have a balcony or any view at all from our room (other than a brick wall), considering the surroundings we were in. The room was also damp and cold. Impossible to get any wet swimwear dry at all. We ended up taking it out with us the following day and drying anything we had while on beach etc. it was very noisy as our room was underneath the stairs. The constant banging as people were coming and going was at times awfull. There was no carpet down which was'nt helping. The staff were friendly though and food was fine. But would'nt want to stay there again."

"The room did not have a view but was kept immaculate by the staff, everything worked, and the beds were comfortable. The food was good, although they did not seem to cater well for special needs. My wife therefore had a rather restricted choice. We liked the quiet location in a residential area, and although parking the hire car was a bit tricky we were always able to find a space within a few minutes walk."

"It is a very good hotel, of course it is not a 4 or 5 star hotel. But you do not need all those stars anyway, if you are not going to stay at the hotel. Everything worked, breakfast was all the same every day, could have been at least once in a while different. But it was good enough, usual staff. We enjoyed the island, did not spend much time in the hotel , nights only;-). THe hotel is vey close to center of PUerto de La Cruz and big shopping center, which is only few minutes away by car. Overall impression very good for that money we paid... 145 POUNDS STERLING including breakfast for a week... Thank you... :-)))))"

"Although the rooms are very basic they are extremely clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and very obliging and the choice of food in the restaurant is excellent. Altogether good value for money."

"Despite having read nothing but bad reports about this hotel, I found it to be perfectly acceptable. The food was very good indeed and incorporated local and national dishes. Staff and waiters were helpful and personable. I had a good room - albeit small - with a fantastic outlook, although I appreciate that some rooms are not so good, due to the shape of the main hotel building. Everything was immaculately clean (rooms cleaned every day/linen changed every other). It is not a place for those who have difficulty walking as the hotel is at the top of a very steep hill and parking adjacent is often difficult. However, I found the necessary exercise really beneficial! I would definitely visit again and try to stay at the Acuario - good value for money."

"Excellent, friendly staff, great food and very, wery clean. Only downside was the steep hill back to the hotel from almost anywhere. It was a bit too much for 74 year old legs!! Would highly recommend to anyone."

"FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF. POOL BAR ON THIRD FLOOR NOT OPEN DURING THE DAY SO HAD TO USE RESTAURANT BAR ON GROUND FLOOR. FOOD WAS GOOD BUT NO ENTERTAINMENT IN THE EVENING BECAUSE OF ITS LOCATION IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA. QUITE A HEIGHT ABOVE THE TOWN WITH HILLS SO STEEP IT WAS DIFFICULT YO WALK DOWN-WALKING UP WOULD REQUIRE MOUNTAINEERING EXPERIENCE. HOWEVER TAXIS WERE ONLY A COUPLE OF EUROS. FOR VALUE FOR MONEY I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY AGAIN"
