"I booked this hotel for my son and his friend who were on a stag weekend. The feedback has been provided by him. His call to me when he got there was to say what a fantastic room they had and he could not beleive it was only a two star. It was clean and comfortable, near to the beach and amenities and the staff ere extremely friendly and helpful. He now wants to re book taking his children. Excellent value for money Thank you"
"This is the second time I have stayed at the Balmoral so knew the hotel would be clean and well maintained. Must say the food was much better than 4 years ago when I stayed there last. Also booked room for 3 adults this time and was concerned there would not be much room, however, they provided a proper bed instead of camp bed and was ample room left over for the amount of time you spend in your room. Only thing I wasnt too happy about was having to pay for air conditioning and tv controls, why cant they be included?? Hotel is popular with Spanish and food is aimed more towards them, however, breakfast covers the full range from cereals, cold meats, breads and hot breakfast. Likewise evening meal consists of cold meats, salads and also hot plate choice, limited desserts, but otherwise fine. "

"Hotel is just across road from beach and promenade which takes about 20 mins to get to Benalmadena Marina, overall good holiday and would stay there again!! If you want a change from hotel food, then restaurants on promenade are lovely as well as a few outside of hotel. The market on a Friday at Tivoli World carpark is a must, but make sure you are there early as it gets really busy!!!"

"REALLY GOOD HOLIDAY THE 2ND WEEK WAS BETTER AS THE FIRST WEEK WAS FULL OF SPANISH PEOPLE AND THEY WERE VERY NOISY IN THE DINING ROOM. THEY ALL SEEM TO TALK AT THE SAME TIME AND SOMETIMES IT WAS TOO LOUD. THE BRITISH PEOPLE ALL STUCK TOGETHER IN THE POOL AREA AND ALL SEEMED HAPPY THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AND HOT TOO NOT A LOT OF VARIETY BUT A LOT BETTER THAN WE EXPECTED FOR A 2 STAR. I THINK A 3 STAR WOULD BE GIVEN IF THEY HAD MORE VARIETY THE HOTEL WAS IN A PERFECT LOCATION AND WAS SPOTLESSLY CLEAN THE STAFF WERE EXCELLENT AND SO FRIENDLY WE ARE DEFINITELY GOING BACK TO THIS HOTEL IT IS GALSO GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY "

"DID'NT NEED TO USE RESTAURANTS BUT THEY LOOKED GOOD AND WERE ALWAYS FULL BEACH FANTASTIC ALL THE WAY ALONG THE COAST A FANTASTIC WALK FROM THE AREA UP TO TORREMELINOS AND BACK TAKES A FEW HOURS BUT THATS WITH A FEW STOPS ALONG THE WAY (SHOPS AND BARS ) THE BUS STOPS WERE RIGHT NEAR THE HOTEL SO IT WAS SO EASY TO GET OUT AND ABOUT AS WELL "

"The location on the map is incorrect. The hotel is located very close to the Sails roundabout and Ave De Las Palmeras. Very flat for those with walking difficulties or the elderly.
When you get fed up of Pork every night in the hotel restaurant, The Shakespeare Cafe just in front of the Hotel is well worth a visit, as is The Last Resort, both very reasonable. Hotel very clean, looks like it has just been re-furbished. Rooms are of a standard size, adequate for two, if your booking is for three, book somewhere else.
Not much night-life around the Hotel, you need to go to Bonanza Square (steep uphill walk or 5 euro in a taxi)

"The hotel is very clean with maid service every day but if I stayed at this hotel again I would only book b & b as the food in the evening was very repetitive 1st night pork, 2nd night pork, 3rd chicken, 4th pork, 5th pork, 6th chicken, 7th meatballs or cannelloni (neither were very nice). My partner is vegetarian and lived on chips and salad for the week apart from one night when spanish omelette was on the menu."

"The hotel is excellent - lovely room and fabulous sea view - hard to believe this is only rated as a 2 star. Breakfasts are good while evening meals are very limited in choice. Staff were mostly very pleasant and helpful. Entertainment for Brits was non-existent - but watching the largely retired Spanish guests is an entertainment in itself. Worst thing is having to wait for the lift - you can stand there for a very long time!!!!!"

"Handy travel shop next door where you can book trips and car hire. Coco's Karaoke Bar heading a short distance along the main road toward Fuengirola can replace the lack of entertainment at the hotel."
"Clean and efficient hotel. Great value for money for a 2 star. Restaurant basic but could always find something to suit. Ideal flat location, once you have negotiated the back of snack bars and Macdonalds."
"Hotel excellent for the price we paid. Room was good and view fufilled when booked an overlook of the sea. Food good staff were very friendly and quite close to local amenities, resturants and bars
Recommended hotel"
Top Tip:
"The last resort is a recommended resturant where you can sit outside overlooking the sea and very close to the hotel."
"The hotel has been given a 2 star rating and in my opinion it should be at least a 3 star+. Staff were extremely helpful giving assistance when asked and the hotel was very clean and tidy. The food in the morning and evening was wholesome and well presented. All in all a very good holiday , excellent value for money. "

"The Shakespeare Cafe just on the beachfront by the hotel deserves a mention as not only was the food reasonably priced but they were also a fountain of knowledge .

"Very Clean, good location,If you book this hotel it would be an idea to go BB,we went half board for a week and found the choice abit too basic, the choice was boiled fish, chips every night with pork most nights,we had chicken once.
But the hotel was spot on for 2*,as good as most 3*.
You have to ask for the remotes and leave a deposit for air con and tv remotes, there is no info on this to let you know and no one told us."

"Very Spanish clientel....but very friendly....
Most Spanish were older, retired people.
Hotel had been refitted, and was imaculate, the house keeping was very thourough, and all standard far excess to a 2 star....
House keepers gave extra pillows, sheets towels, etc when asked...they were very eager to please....
OTT for a 2 star
Very small lift u had to constantly wait for....."
"Hotel was very clean, rooms immaculate and cleaned every day, pool area nice and also clean and tidy. Staff were helpful and friendly but hotel food was terrible, breakfast was ok if you got there early but evening meal had very little choice and we chose to eat out every night as found loads of lovley restaurants close by. Mostly elderly Spanish guests were staying at the hotel while we were there so food and entertainment was catered for them. Hotel location was near to the beach but behind McDonalds so came out of the hotel doors to a terrible stench of rubbish and numerous rubbish bins. We stayed in October so dont know if this hotel would be better in peak season but location let it down for us."

"Rooms were of a 4 star hotel you have to pay a deposit for air con & tv which is refunded
this hotel was excellent value for money but would only advise b & b as the food was very poor would stay there again as rooms are spotless and very pleasant and modern to stay in"

"try to get a room 5 or above as have better views but be aware the lift is oftern busy"
"Hello Fellow Travel Republicans!
Well what can I say. The Hotel Balmoral is a really nice hotel. Its immaculately clean and the staff are very friendly. The rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels daily.
We got to the hotel at around midnight, to find that they had saved our evening meals for us, which I found was very thoughtful. I was traveling on my own with my two children so the hospitality of this hotel was very welcoming.
There were a couple of things which werent as good as we hoped it would be which were, there wasnt much entertainment for children and the food could have been a bit better. Don't get me wrong the full English breakfast went down a treat but the evening meal could have had a bit more variety.
I'm really glad I stumbled accross the Travel Republic web site because all in all we had a great holiday and made some great friends. At the end of the day a holiday is what you make it!
Thanks again.

"The hotel is a great base for all beach lovers. There are some great restaurants near by, but beware parents there is a Mcdonalds straight outside the hotel. If you get chance go to Aqualand. Its a great day out for all ages. There is also a lovely sea front walk down to the Marina, which is great for all those holiday souveneres."
