"Not 3 star by any stretch of the imagination BUT you get what you pay for. It was fine for what we wanted although we only ate breakfast on the 1st morning - eggs and bread. Icemer lovely and plenty of places to eat. Will return again but will go in the old village self catering."

"Awful experience with an extremely horrid man who owns the hotel. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone for this reason. In all my years of holidaying in Turkey, I have never ever met anyone like this person before. Unfortunately everyone I spoke to at the hotel & even at the beach, had a similar experience to myself - some elderly couples referred to him as 'Hitler', so that says it all really. Reported problem to rep Una at hotel, but was told to "let it go over your head, as he's like that with everyone" - I found this to be an unsatisfactory solution, and feel strongly that some action should have been taken."

"the bellamare is a beautiful hotel it just needs updating alot. the rooms are very basic but are cleaned everyday with clean towels and bedding the a/c is free which is great as it was boiling hot!! had a great hol and the guys in the bar made it. just watch when paying as they seem to make it up as they go along. great place the beach is just down the road go on the boat trips. going back to turkey in 1 week stopping here again and also booking 4 may again to stay here. love to jordon and oskar see ya soon boys xx"

"Very old hotel, Food far too basic, often inedible, Staff very unfriendly, Repairs not carried out (ie, light bulbs not replaced, air conditioning not repaired) Only plus was that it was clean but have stayed in lots of hotels all over the world and would never rate this hotel as 3*, more like 1-2*. Rep was friendly but got the impression her hands were tied and there was little she could do. Every guest we spoke to had same complaints and some even left and found alternative accommodation."

"The hotel Bella Mare is in meed of a huge face lift. It is in a desperate need of attention to the rooms, Wardrobe doors falling off, draw handles ,balcony windows not locking and woodwork through out the hotel needs immediate attention. The pool is of a good size however the pool steps also need attention as they are very loose and could be hazard. However the bed linen was very clean and changed regular along with towels. The free air conditioning was excellent. The breakfast was disappointing as was the same food everyday with the slight variation to how the eggs would be served, hard-boiled scrambled, or fried. This hotel is in an ideal central location with in easy reach of the beach , restaurants and shops. The trips available were of excellent value and great fun. (Jeep safari) This hotel could be beautiful if some time and money was spent on it. This hotel does not warrant a 3 star rating."

"I had a fantastic time, was on my own, but was made to feel very welcome with staff who were very friendly and helpful, they made me laugh and brightened up my holiday. Food was different, but lovely."

"Very basic hotel but we found this more than adequate as a cheap holiday stay. Read many complaints about this hotel before after booking but went with no great expectations and were not disappointed. Holidaymakers should always remember you get what you pay for. Hotel clean, food adequate. Pool great but not suitable for young children. Staff very helpful and polite if you were friendly and respectful to them. Great hotel for a base to go out and explore but ask for room at front of hotel as rear overlooking residential apartments."

"Rooms basic so dont expect luxury. My stay in July was comfortable, however I came back again in September & it has been the worst ever. The boss (old man) is an absolute nightmare & needs customer services training +++. I will definitely not be back to stay whilst he is still here. Every other customer has similar views. He has even searched peoples bags for fear of them bringing in drinks etc!"

"Rooms were OK for what we needed but looked a bit old and tired, I was however impressed with the maid service, we had our room serviced every day. Air conditioning leaked twice quite badly because no-one told us that the bottle on the balcony has to be emptied by us. Pool was very nice, didnt eat or drink in the hotel so cant comment on that, the staff were quite pushy which put us off sitting round the hotel pool, they were always trying to sell us stuff."
Top Tip:
"I suggest you stay in the moonlight apartments in the old town, very friendly staff and a great pool with a slide. Great atmosphere and they let you use the facilities even if you are not staying there, I will definately stay there next time."Bella Mare Hotel check-in Date:

"the staff and service were generally impecable, friendly to adults and great with kids. However, I was overcharged a few times, and the promised refund h ad to be given by the manageress on the last day. Oddlly, she hadnt returned from her siesta byt he time we had to leave. I do know that the staff were unpaid for 3 weeks and on the verge of leaving, which would be a shame since they make the hotel so good. The elevators were a lifesaver since we were on the 3rd floor. The chef was magnificent, although the buffet menu didnt reflect his skills, the A la carte did."

"When we arrived at the hotel the room wasn't ready for 3 people it was only ready for 2 but they reacted quickly and sorted everything out for us giving us an extra room for one night that we did not need"

Hotel Details - Bella Mare Hotel
The family run Bella Mare hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Icmeler, approximately 200 meters from the beach. Icmeler offers a wide range of restaurants, bars and shops. Frequent minibuses are available from just outside the hotel to visit Marmaris, only 8 km away.
Accommodation
The Bella Mare hotel consists of 80 simply furnished standard rooms in a 5-storey building. Rooms include individually controlled air-conditioning, direct-dial telephone, balcony and bathroom with WC and shower. Baby cots are available on request and will count as one person in the room and not in addition to the maximum occupancy.
Food & Beverage
The hotel offers an outdoor-indoor restaurant, a lobby bar and a snack bar. Breakfast and dinner (HB) are traditional Turkish style, served in the main restaurant. Turkish nights are held once a week and usually weekly there is live music entertainment (during high season).
Sports & Leisure
The Bella Mare has a nice pool area with sun beds and umbrellas surrounding the swimming pool. There is a childrens section of the pool.
Facilities & Services
Facilities at this hotel include a mini library and TV corner, reception, laundry and dry cleaning services, billiards and safety deposit boxes at reception (all with extra charge). Please note - the hotel does not allow food and drink purchased outside to be brought into the hotel.
Useful Information on Distances
Icmeler is located approximately 90 km from Dalaman (DLM) airport.
Entry Requirements
You may obtain a multiple entry visitors visa valid for 90 days at the port of entry on payment of ten pounds sterling, cash (Scottish currency is not accepted).
