"It is not a problem that there are no restaurants or entertainment facilities nearby as the hotel provides a barbeque each week, plus there are some local tavernas (typical greek food---ie. NO fast food restaurants) nearby. Also the hotel provides a free bus services to/from the town of Molyvos 4 times a day. Molyvos is the main town and at 2km away from the hotel at Eftalou it is within easy walking distance. Eftalou itself is where you will find the natural hot springs. The Hotel Bella Vista is run by an American/Greek and he manages the hotel very efficiently. All the staff are friendly, the cleaning staff have to be the best I have come across in many years of travel. The buffet-style breakfast is excellent with a choice of hot and cold food. The pool is large and clean."

"What a beautiful island! The hotel is 3km from the main town of Molyvos which is steeped in culture, it has a lovely harbour and the town scales the side of a hill and has a castle at the top which is lit up in the evening. We walked from Eftalou to Molyvos one evening and it took about 30mins. Well worth a visit however I wouldn't attempt to walk it in the day as it is too far for the temperatures.
The Bella Vista Hotel is exceptionally clean and very tastefully designed and decorated, it was completely refurbished two years ago and the hotelier did an excellent job. Cleaning was everyday and the maids were very thorough, all the staff gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble. If you want to know more about the island they were very willing to make recommendations for beaches and places to visit.
Owing to it being a little way from the main town I'd recommend car hire, although there are a couple of tavernas in Eftalou they were not up to much, the best were in Molyvos. The hotel does offer a free air-conditioned mini-bus service of its own which goes back and forth to Molyvos four times a day. Definitely go to 'Baracuda' Bar & Restaurant, the food and cocktails were delicious.
If you like a bit of lively night life this is not the place for you, this island is for relaxing, touring, taking fabulous photographs and seeing a bit of the real Greece. This is one of the least 'touristy' islands I've been to in Greece and I enjoyed it the most. The town in the evening is very ambient and people walk up and down the streets taking in the atmosphere. You will hear music drifting out of bars and restaurants but you will never hear club and party music.
The pool at the Bella Vista is lovely being surrounded by rose beds and comfortable loungers and umbrellas. Although the pool bar was not actually finished this year owing to the time it takes to get permits in Greece, this was not an issue as the bar in the main reception and the sun terrace overlooks the pool area anyway.
Thursday nights is BBQ night at the Bella Vista, €10 is all they charge and the hotel lays on skewers, pork chops, sausages and greek salad and serves it at long tables, a great opportunity to socialise and swap tips with the other guests. Let the hotel know if you're a vegetarian and they did a delicious vegetarian option as well.
The beach at the front of the Bella Vista is renowned for its clear water, the beach is a mix of coarse sand and shingle so I would recommend taking diving shoe type footwear or your Jellies! It's not a very large beach but as per most of the beaches that I visited were never what you would call crowded."

"Excellent Hotel. Room Cleaning & Service excellent. Staff friendly .Only downside is that hotel a bit too far from resort."
