"Loved the hotel. Quiet, but in a lovely place. Bus stop right outside. Lots of places within walking distance. Rooms are large with two double beds. Good kitchen area - not microwave, but everything else you could want including a good size fridge with a freezer.

The boardwalk isn't yet complete (target was Aug 08), so direct access to beach is not possible, but Rockley beach is about 5 minutes walk away."

"Allamanda is a small hotel, there are 50 rooms and an average sized pool. The staff are friendly especially Joyce and Rochelle! The bar is always full, from guests to workers from the cruise ships downtown.

Rooms are well kept and always looked after. I stayed in a studio with sea view. Room was nice but the stairs were a killer. They need to have a lift but thank God for the porters who are always happy to assisit you.

The food in the hotel is absolutely gorgeous and they have a cocktail night on a thursday.
the hotel is close to St Lawrence Gap and all the night life. Also a short walk from Rockley beach and Carlisle Bay beach. You can catch a bus to town right outside the hotel to the city (Bridgetown) where all thae shops are, and busses going to Oistins ( fishing town) where they have fresh fish. On a friday they have bands and a street party down there. You can also find Miami Beach there which is one of the best beaches I have been to.

At the hotel they are always happy to assit you with events or tour bookings that you may be interested in.

They have a larger sister hotel called the Amarryllis which is a 15 min walk or you can catch the taxi service to the hotel which is free. You can use the facilities in this hotel which include a gym, swimming pool etc. They also have fun nights there too.

This hotel is also close to Harbour Lights a top night spot where they have fire eaters and cockytail nights... a must see!!!!


I had a wicked time and I am looking forward to going back next year."

"Hotel is basic but clean and friendly. It is close to restaurants shops and a bus stop outside hotel. Therefore you do not need to hire a car. We are hoping to visit Barbados soon and would stay there again"

"The hotel was ok, and in a great location, but in drastic need of a lick of paint. The beach regeneration work that is going on meant no access to the beach, which was very disappointing, especially as we didn't know this before going and was one of the main reasons for choosing this hotel."

"What a great time we had - we need and want to go back as soon as possible - looking into cheap flights. Beautiful, well run and such freindly helpful staff, the hotel was everything you need in a on a self catering and non self catering hotel - the choice was there - well done the Allamanda ****. I am not telling everyone as we do not want it spoil it.

I have not ticked the box for suitability for families as we enjoyed the peace of not having screaming, unruley kids where the parents do not appriciate other non family persons trying to enjoy their holidays. Although kids did turn up and of course typical Brits - parents let them scream on - partly spoiling our dream holiday with the Allamanda."
