"A very basic hotel. Rooms were clean but bedding was not changed once in 10 days. Towels changed once. You are not allowed to put paper down the toilets, expected to put it into a bin, this was empied on Thursday and then not again till Monday. A/C is 5 euro a day, fridge 25 euro for 10 days safe 28 euro.
Breakfast was the same every day, cornflakes, muesli, sometimes tinned peaches.
Lovely barman Christos but he had the weekend off, the land lady who worked instead was more interested in sitting chatting with her friends than serving guests. Food in the restaurant was not very good. Taverna next door was much better, really nice food and very reasonable.
10 minute walk to nice beach."

"very quiet beautiful setting , not a clear sea view but it wasn't a concern as everything else was great .
Very friendly staff really helpful and laid back , can't wait to return next year more than once .
Hotel food was really nice , pool ideal but not for youngsters as of was deep .
Only a five min taxi ride to the lively resort
Ideal for the family who want a relaxing quiet day and night and a good base to stay if you like to have a good mix ."

"The Hotel was gr8, relaxing, friendly staff and we enjoyed the stay. The breakfast was a bit unadventurous, I think they could have varied this - and our small son hardly had any breakfast, we didn't have any on the last day and opted for a full english on the sea fron cafe, which was cheap and tasty.
The Hotel had a back packers feel about it, they were very trusting with a fridge to help yourselves to water, crisp and ice creams. Our room was cleaned 3 times but the sheets were not changed, we had to pay extra for the fridge and air-conditioning. It was a lovely hotel we would recommend to anyone, good location."

"Really homely feel with accessible, friendly and accommodating owners/staff all of which contributied to a very relaxing holiday.
This is not a 'sanitised' 5 star resort Hotel. However the hotel and room had all you really needed (although we had to pay extra for air conditioning which was needed in 35 degree heat!).
Food/Drink in the Taverna & Bar were of a good standard and as we enjoyed it so much we ate in the hotel most days.
Only a short walk to a nice sandy beach which, like the hotel, even though it was July, was never crowded so you had enough space and quiet time to relax.
The pool area is simply brilliant and the jewel of this hotel. The view across the well established gardens and pool is a picture I will reflect on when things aren't as nice at home or work!!"

"Excellent location for a relaxing chill out break myself and Helen needed. Quiet location with beach etc 5 minutes walk away. Room was typically greek, basic but comfortable, tidy, nice balcony overlooking lovely gardens with a view of the sea. Good bar manned by Chris most nights creating good cocktails and raki to go! Pool was clean with plenty of sunbeds, great for relaxing, fridge provided with very well priced drinks that you paid for at the end of the day. Food was good, Thai curries excellent. Overall great place away from the 'Malia' type resort, couldnt fault it would go back.
Mark & Helen."

"the manager gabbi and her staff were great hotel was clean, very comfortable bed, food was vgood. will go back there again. chris the barman speaks good english ask and he will help you on lots of things."

"only 7 double rooms as photo on internet other rooms all 2 single beds quite away apart from each other very unsocial.
breakfast not much choice same thing every day
half board evening meal got what given no choice and not the best would not go back to this hotel on an half board basis.
hotel its self and owner quite alright and would consider returning there.
hotel had a rustic charm about it that grew on you and became very enjoyable.
you get what you pay for"

"Hotel was clear and staff very friendly amenities were basic."

"A Fantastic Holiday at the Place where we stayed."

"Hotel Aloi provided the quiet, relaxed atmosphere we'd hoped for. For some it may be too laid back, but we are familiar with the Greek pace of life and were prepared to adopt a more relaxed attitude.
The Aloi taverna provides a good menu with fresh variety each day, the buffet breakfast, however, was a bit hit & miss. This could be improved by providing fresh fruit & yogurt every day & ensuring that there is enough for all."

"We were very happy with our stay in Hotel Aloi. Facilities were as described and adequate for our purposes. The owners were very friendly and helpfull with directions and local information.
The hotel and grounds were clean and well kept and the food was good ,although only available in the evenings during our visit.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet ,relaxing holiday, although its only 10 minutes walk to the beach and nightlife.
We will use this hotel on future visits to Crete."
