"The Amarys Simart was OK for the money, I guess. But it was fairly shabby, in a rather downmarket area and the staff were a bit offhand. The room was comfortable enough, though very basic and the walls were paper-thin. My neighbour's sex life was embarrassingly audible. The breakfast was fine, though identical very morning (the waitress was the nicest, most smiley person on the staff). "

"When we left we were not asked about our stay or if we had a nice stay. The hotel were not interested in us and didnt wish us a nice journey home etc. There were no customer service skills from this gentleman. The breakfast was below standard and the man wouldnt allow us to pay after our stay, when we checked out. The stairs also need to come with a warning as when you opened the corridor door upstairs you could easily fall straight down them as there is no barrier. However the hotel is in a fantastic location right next to a station on the metro line and right in the centre of Paris. Absoultey Brilliant location!! Another member of staff was very friendly when we arrived and told us the hotel was open 24hrs. They have very good security and you always feel safe. "

"On arrival we were told that due to redecoration we were being moved to a nearby hotel which was of a higher standard. Initially this seemed reasonable, although it would have been courteous to advise us in advance. We were given a pencil drawing of the walk to the hotel. When we started to walk we realised it was not nearby! Being pregnant and carrying heavy luggage for such a distance was not acceptable. On arrival at the new hotel it was very clear it was not of a higher standard. However it was clean so that was ok. That night we were kept awake by the other residents who were partying into the early hours of the night. In the end I had to contact reception who addressed the partygoers. The next morning we requested a swift change of floor to get away from the large party of young people. The staff did this for us. On the whole the staff were 'ok', breakfast was a let down. There was cereal and croissants, it would have been nice to have some ham and tomatoes but for the price I don't suppose we could complain about that - other than I wouldn't have liked to have seen breakfast at the Amarys Simart if that was it in a higher standard hotel."

"Considering it was only a 1* hotel it was better than expected - clean, quiet, friendly/helpful staff, ensuite bathroom and nice breakfast. Location couldn't be better as it was within walking distance of the Sacre Coeur (15-20 mins), just round the corner from the metro and the right side of Paris for CDG airport and Gard de Nord station."
