  • sylvia from plymouth reviewed the Amine Hotel

  • "The hotel was very clean the staff friendly and helpful. The food was good but not enough variety. The pool area was lovely bit the pool was very cold (November)."

  • Top Tip:

"The numbner L1 or no 1 bus stopped outside the hotel every half hour which takes you to the Medina and the Kotoubia the cost each way 3.5 mads."

  • Jamal from London reviewed the Amine Hotel

  • "Well firstly the room was not in the fittest of shape, although clean when came in. When nightfall hit, it got very chilly and there wasnt any heating so we had to wrap up in two blankets. The tv had no control and at night was way to loud as the sound was preset to a high volume. The breakfast was disgusting! if your day starts on a good breakfast, this hotel needs to be avoided. You are given three day old croisants (although they do supply a microwave to heat them up and soften them to a fresh taste :S). They have an orange juice machine and a coffee one too. There is also the choice of cornflakes. The service from the staff was OK, nothing extra. This hotel is a 3 star at BEST! not the four star they claim. Although for the 20 pound a night price tag, everything is what you pay for, just dont think for the price tag your recieving a bargain!!"

  • Top Tip:

"When you come out and turn left....straight down to the first major round about system there is a nice night spot, where you can smoke shisha and listen to traditional music. Although i would recommend if you are a woman you go with some men. As he locals get a little excited at the thought of liberated women."

  • Katarzyna from London reviewed the Amine Hotel

  • "Reading negative reviews I had mixed feelings booking that hotel. However I need to say that I have been positively suprised. Friendly staff, beautiful and clean room facing the garden, pool, decent breakfast, bus stop in a front of the hotel...and all of that for a VERY competitive price!!! Just a perfect place to have a rest and a starting point to explore Marrakesh and surrandings."

  • Top Tip:

"Sometimes I have got impression while travelling that some holidaymakers from Western Europe behave in a very rude way towards staff in the hotels (this time I noticed the same). It looks like they think that if they have spent few Pounds or Euros they are better than others. My tip: Of course be careful, if needed but treat locals with respect (they will repay you with the same)."

  • Sonia from Hanley reviewed the Amine Hotel

  • "A great hotel, we had a very enjoyable stay, the best rooms are the ones facing the pool as they enjoy more sun than the back ones, although the pool itself is a bit on the cold side.
The staff were friendly and the hotel is fairly well placed for most things and there is a stop just across the road for the city sightseeing bus.
Breakfast was a slight disappointment but otherwise a really good hotel."

  • "I had a very nice large room clean, very quiet and lovely view to the garden the back of the hotel. Every morning I was awaken by birds singing. The food was very nice and varied in the evening the breakfast was the same every morning but I wasn’t hungry at the lunch time which means I eat a lot at breakfast."

  • Top Tip:

"The town centre has lots of French/ Italian restaurants very cheap and nice; a three meal course with drinks cost less than £20 for two."

  • Ian from Chittlehampton reviewed the Amine Hotel

  • "The hotel was great. Breakfast was really good. Hotel is quite a way from the square however right across the street you can catch the bus for only 3.50 dirhams each, a bargain really. Taxi from the hotel should only cost you 50 dirhams when you bargain with the taxi driver. We were shown by the nice taxi driver that took us back to the airport that if the meter was used it would only be 25 dirhams however most drivers will agree a price beforehand.
The hotel was actually a really good deal, we had no problems at all. The staff were friendly and courteous and very helpful."

  • Top Tip:

"Get the number 1 bus right outside the hotel directly to the square.

  • "I know the hotel I have stayed there before. The food is lovely and plenty to chose from, the staff in the restaurant are nicer in general there. The hotel clealiness could be improved a bit to gain more stars. Definitly I will stay there again as it is adequate for my needs."

  • Top Tip:

"the bus No1 opposite the hotel is only 3 and 1/2 dirhams about 20p each way Men and Women, becareful with your pockets, pickpokets are profetional in the domain."

  • "On arriving at the hotel we were greeted warmly and the staff were always polite.
The room was cleaned daily and the general cleanliness of the hotel was above reproach. Shame about Marrakech it seems they have sold souls to tourisme and the air was very poluted. Good little resto about 600m from hotel. No 1 bus takes you to city centre costs 3.5dirhams."

  • Top Tip:

"Lots of small restos abou 400-600m from hotel one can eat (without alcohol) for £5 per person."

  • Maria from Sevenoaks reviewed the Amine Hotel

  • "The hotel although a little tired and dated in parts is kept very clean. Our room had twin beds, both beds were the size of a small double and comfortable. The food was very nice as were the staff. There is a different main course every night and a salad bar that was excellent, it had different fish dishes each day that were amazing in taste, the main salad dishes did not change too much (but then what can you do with a salad!) The only down side for me was the pool, which was so cold I did not venture in, my husband swam every day but sat straight in the sun to warm up. The weather on the whole was hot and sunny although we had 2 days of partial rain and were advised to go back in the spring. Be careful what you eat outside of the hotel, we ate in the souks, and survivied with no ill effects but forgot ourselves in the mountain villages and had dodgy tummies as a result."

  • Top Tip:

"The hotel is just a short bus ride away from the souks and oh what a crazy place the main square and souks are. We also visited the Saadian tombs and Majorelle gardens both are interesting."

  • Alex from Hitchin reviewed the Amine Hotel

  • "Nice hotel for a quiet break, pool was excellent. Room decor was dated but clean and any faults rectified very fast. With the layout most rooms had balconies overlooking the gardens or pool and were nice and quiet at night.

Only downside was the hotels trip company was a slight disapointment with MTS travel, a trip to the Atlas mountains which was one of the most expensive they offered was done with 6 English people and a non english speaking driver and was literally a trip to the mountains with no extra info. Lunch was good though. Speaking to others it seems like this was the norm rather than the exception, and the company certainly didn't want to hear complaints"

  • Sylvia Lindsay from Dollar reviewed the Amine Hotel

  • "The Hotel Amine is very good value for money. It is clean, well managed and the pool and service are very good. The food issn't all that, but adequate for the price. Although the hotel isn't central, there is a regular and cheap bus service to the city centre (no. 1). If you want luxury, however, you will have to pay more."

  • Top Tip:

"If you are planning a trip to Marrakech you should: visit the souks (several times); go to the jemna al fna at night (take part in some street games); go on a trip to the Atlas mountains (take a jumper-it's chilly); hire a car to go to Essaouira (watch out for trucks on the wrong side of the road); visit the various gardens around the city (cactuses are huge); take a ride in a horse drawn carriage (choose healthy horses); ride on a camel (only once-costs a fortune) and the rest."

  • DANIEL from ILFRACOMBE reviewed the Amine Hotel

  • "this is an excellent hotel for the price.....in fact i can hardly believe its so cheap. Rooms are fine....my 10 year old loved the pool. Its a little way out of town....maybe 30 mins walk to the centre of Marrakech. But taxis are pretty cheap. I only had breakfast at the hotel so cant really comment on the food. Myself and my son thought it was great."

  • MELVYN from WOODFORD GREEN reviewed the Amine Hotel

  • "Although it is a 10-15 minute taxi drive to the medina and the main toursit sites, the cabs are cheap and take you through the modern quarter where there is much life and entertainment. Judging it purely on cost, you cannot fault the hotel - the rooms are a little basic, but the pool is amongst the best. Service can be a little shaky at times - this is not Park Lane, so adjust your expectations and you'll be pleased, I am sure."

  • Top Tip:

"Marrakech will beguile you.. it's another world. If you speak no Arabic, brush up on a little French as few outside the hotels speak any English. Try the La Jaconde cafe, or Les Negociants, and hit the main square, Djma el fnaa, on a weekend evening for the best in free entertainment: no crowd control here! And for real hairy sightseeing, take a moped ride around the town!"

  • Matthew from London reviewed the Amine Hotel

  • "After reading the reviews on here about Hotel Amine, I was really worried but needn't have been. Yes, this hotel is out of the centre and yes, it probably shouldn't really call itself a 4 star hotel but for the low, low price that we paid, it was definitely worth it.

The pool is fantastic, breakfast ok, dinner not so good. Rooms are fairly basic but have everything you need, ie a bed! I don't think anyone should kid themselves and book this thinking its the Ritz but it really isn't that bad.

Taxis into the centre take ten mins and cost around £1.50 although we ended up paying more most of the time. The reception are happy to book excursions, car hire etc for you.

Marrakech itself, that is another story, we were pestered from start to finish and pleased to come back but definitely worth it for the experience."

  • Top Tip:

"There are lots of car hire places close to the hotel if you just want to grab a car and head into the mountains, we paid £35 for the day.

Don't underestimate how nice it is to be able to chill out and relax by a pool when you've had a whole day of dodging donkey carts and being pestered to buy things in the old town. Some people say that the real Marrakech experience is staying in a riad in the centre but I would choose a nice hotel outside with a pool any day."

  • Justine from Wellingborough reviewed the Amine Hotel

  • "AT £22 A NIGHT FOR A TWIN ROOM INCLUDING BREAKFAST IT WAS A BRILLIANT FIND. BREAKFAST WAS VERY BASIC BUT PLENTY OF IT AND WE WERE ON THE 4TH FLOOR & THE LIFT DIDN'T WORK BUT IT REALLY WASN'T A BIG DEAL. THE ROOM WAS CLEAN THE BEDS COMFY AND THE SHOWER WAS GREAT. STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THE POOL & SNACK BAR AREA WERE CLEAN AND THE SUN WAS HOT OVER 30 DEGREES EACH DAY IN MID SEPT....WE HAVE NO COMPLAINTS. ITS NOT LUXURY BY ANY MEANS BUT GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY."

  • Top Tip:

  • Catherine from Berkshire reviewed the Amine Hotel

  • "The hotel was good and provided me with most of the things I needed whilst on my stay. A few things to add however are: I did request a double bed which was not provided but didn't cause to many problems. One thing to note is the hotel ask that you don't bring any food or drink from outside of the hotel oter wise they will fine you 50 MAD. I found this to be a little harsh based on the fact that the bottled water in the hotel was twice the amount you can buy in the TOTAL gagage next door.
Generally the staff were friendly and welcoming and made you feel as comfortable as possible.
I was on half board and did also pay for a taxi transfer from the hotel. I would not have done the transfer for 44 GBP had I known I could have got a taxi from the airport cheaper than I paid which I later found out.
The food was ok but it would have been nice to have had some more variety. The evening meal (buffet) was a little boring after a few days."

  • Top Tip:

"The quad biking in the desert was great fun as well as my excursion trip to the atlas mountains were we hiked into the mountains and spent some time by the water falls where we swam and got to see many monkeys in there natural habitat."
