"We really liked the area and getting out of the centre in the evenings after lots of sight seeing. The Metro can be confusing but is cheap and just metres from the hotel. The hotel was very nice and all the staff were lovely. The restaurant and bar prices were very high compared to other very good restaurants very nearby but the food was fantastic."

"The Ampere is a nice hotel in a fantasti location. It was our second stay there and the rooms are comfortable and clean although maybe in need of a little upgrade. Location-wise you could not ask for more. The cafe's near the Periere metro are fantastic for relaxing and people watching, not to mention the crazy french driving. The bistro 17 next to the hotel is a fabulous restaurant with the food and wine of the highest order. I cannot recommend the duck highly enough!!! All in all good hotel but the location really makes it for me."

"Bistro 17 next door to the hotel you must try it.
Bateaux Parisean - dinner cruise down the river is brilliant.
Cafe next to the Metro does great coffee and also cocktails.

"The Ampere Hotel was very friendly with reception staff who spoke English and during our stay were very helpful.
The location is slightly outside the hub but with a metro station about 60yds away you could get around easily.
The hotel itself was very clean and tidy with the main part having 8 floors with 2 lifts. The top 2 floors gives a partial view of the top section of the Eiffel Tower over rooftops. We were in room 76 which faced the tower. Our party had 3 adults sharing a room which was large enough but not as big as American rooms. The third bed was a fold down drawer type but I am assured by my daughter that it was very comfortable.
Hotel was quiet at night. We stayed there from Saturday to Tuesday afternoon and the only time the bar was full was on Saturday when we arrived and the Rugby was on. Drink prices usual hotel expensive kind but the hotel did do a happy hour for 2 hours about 5 to 7 pm each night. The bar was a piano bar but we did not see the pianist at all as he only came out on Tues/Wed/Thurs when we were not there. Bar staff and all other staff except maids spoke English.
Breakfast was continental type with a few (limited) hot dishes. They had a self service egg boilling machine which was unusual?. Usual fresh juices, Tea/ Coffee, selection of pastries, Cereal, yogurts etc.
Overall would recommend this hotel for short stays."Top Tip:
"We took PARISHUTTLE prebooked to hotel. A minivan with about 6/7 spaces. It takes you direct to your hotel and picks you up on return. No trying to find your own way. Made arrival very easy allowing us to get on with sightseeing.Note-You have to phone to confirm return and the call goes to an automated machine which was too much for my limited French. Staff at hotel reception are only to keen to help with this if asked.
If eating or drinking go inside the back of restaurant where it is cheaper. If you sit outside especially near the Seine be prepared to pay high prices.
