  • Carrie from Cleethorpes reviewed the El Andalous Hotel

  • "Hotel was lovely felt very Morrocan. The food wasn't brilliant but I think it is the same in most hotels in Marrakech. Rooms were very spacious."

  • Michele from BATTERSEA reviewed the El Andalous Hotel

  • "This hotel is in a brilliant position. It is a pleasant 15 minute walk to El Fna so you are close enough to everything going on, but in a quiet and pretty location. The bedroom decor is a little on the shabby side, but this is outweighed by it being such good value for money and with excellent service and friendly staff. We stayed here in September 2007 and returnng this September were greeted as if we were family!"

  • Top Tip:

"There is a good new restaurant in Marakech called Dar Soukkar. Dinner for two was 820 Dirhams. It is a little way from the centre of town, so take a taxi.

Do not be put off going to Marrakech in Ramadan if you are staying in a hotel."

  • Arup from Leeds reviewed the El Andalous Hotel

  • "We were there for 2 nights and found the hotel was very comfortable, great location, as its a 15 min a walk away from the big square or a short taxi ride. The bar tariffs are quite pricy about 3.50 for a beer. The hotel is clean and the pool is great. No probs with recommending this place."

  • Top Tip:

"Dont take a taxi from outside the hotel, as they always overcharge, just flag one down and then haggle hard."

  • stephen from Flintshire reviewed the El Andalous Hotel

  • "We have stayed at this hotel a number of times most recently with our adult daughter and appreciated the interconnected rooms. These would be excellent for families with younger children. The swimming pool is big enough to swim lengths and the garden provides good shade for those of us who burn. There is tennis, table tennis and pool. The only downside was that there was no fridge in the room."

  • Top Tip:

"The metered fare from the hotel to the place is 10 MAD although it is acceptable to pay 20. The cabs outside the hotel will ask 40 or 30. If they won't accept 20 walk away there are lots of passing taxis and they will change their minds when they realise you are hailing one."

  • "Only problem was they were fully booked for the first night and were transferred to another hotel for the night, which was supposed to be a 4 star hotel. They did taxi us up and back but spent 1 1/2 hours waiting for the transfers. Other then that everything else was great."

  • Maria from Darwen reviewed the El Andalous Hotel

  • "The hotel is pleasant enough but don't be expecting british 4 star service/accomodation although the rooms were fantasticaly huge it took us two days to get extra towels and coat hangers (there were three of us sharing). Some of the staff were not over friendly and they made finding things out more difficult that it needed to be even with relativley good conversational french! The spa was disappointing, the quality of the treatments left a lot to the imagination which was a great shame. Breakfast was ok but a bit limited ie no fresh fruit but plenty of fantastic fresh baked bread . We were on a girlie relaxing holiday which we really enjoyed and all in all the hotel was great value for money."

  • Charles from London reviewed the El Andalous Hotel

  • ""International" restuarant let the hotel down - I have a 15 year old son who found it difficult to find food that was to his taste.
Card system for room door/electricity caused everyone problems and let us down so that we had to move rooms - with no word of apoloogy.
They were reluctant to accept credit card for payment of final bill and encouraged us to use their cash machine."

  • Giulietta from Cambridge reviewed the El Andalous Hotel

  • "We have put in a complaint about our stay at the mentioned hotel El Andalous but just to alert you that this hotel was filthy and unacceptable. We were finally moved after numerous phone calls but lost a day of our already short break to sort out a better hotel. Definitely would not rate this hotel as a 4 star more like a 2 star."

  • Lezanne from Cardiff reviewed the El Andalous Hotel

  • "I had an amazing time, the hotel was everything it was said to be (although a little pricey but the whole of Marrakech was too!). The towels were a bit hard, but room service was very prompt and the rooms, pool and hotel in general were very clean and well kept. The views were lovely and the balcony apt. The sunbeds were kept clean and pool guards and a security guard were at the pool all day long so it was very safe for children, not that I had any. They had a cashpoint and an exchange bureau in the hotel which I feel is necessary and live shows in their Ichbilia bar 4 of the 7 nights we were there which were fantastic. Had it not been from the attitude of the majority of the staff, I would have rated it excellent."

  • Top Tip:

"For those people who like to drink on holiday, the hotel is very pricey, however if you come out of the hotel, take a left then turn left up the road at the side of the hotel, walkt to the main road (this only takes 2 mins) and turn right, walk all the way up that road (past an excellent French restaurant called Le6 which serves alcohol, and has excellent service and food) and keep going, you pass the institute for tourism and have a number of hotels on the left hand side of the road, keep going up for about 10 / 15 mins walk until you get to a large roundabout. The train station should be on the left hand side of the road by now for reference (there are maps in the hotel to help you with this). Take a right and there are a series of little shops (they dont advertise that they are off licences) and the first one you come to is quite small, and the cheapest on the road, the proprieter is very nice. Another excellent recommendation is that you take the supratour to Essouira, which you need to reserve at the bus station, next to the train station, the day before you want to go. This is such a beautiful beach and excellent markets etc however the bus journey does take 3 hours. If I went again I would book the bus to come back the following day and stay the night in Essaouira (there are loads of cheap hotels on the front of the beach which always have vacancies apparently). I would give Safi a miss unless you are a surfer, and you will need to find the beach as the train doesnt take you into the main part of the town."
