LYNDA from STOURBRIDGE reviewed the Anfora Playa Hotel
"A very reasonably priced hotel, representing good value for money. Rooms are very clean, traditionally furnished in old Spanish style. Brand new bathrooms however and newly tiled throughout, spotless. Towels changed daily, maid service daily except for Tuesday? Recently whitewashed walls too, bedding/curtains a bit dated but still clean. We only stayed for 6 days, but I had stayed last year, again for a short break, so I knew what to expect. I stayed B&B this time as I did not rate the evening meal last year, and ate there only one evening during my stay. Breakfast is adequate, hot and cold food available, a bit repetative, but breakfasts usually are? There are two good pools, plenty of loungers, and the pool-side bars/snacks are good value too. We ate out each night and did not return for entertainment/drinks. I do recall that the 'Drag Queen' I saw last year was excellent though, but he was not there the week we stayed, so missed him this time, pity-he was very good/entertaining. Entertainment at night is very 'family' orientated, suitable for young families/kareoke/bingo etc, not my scene really. Overall, a nice short break hotel, NOT for 2 weeks though."
Top Tip:
"Fabulous restaurant 'Las Arenas' (turn left at top of road and round the corner, opposite the bay) Excellent quality food (not 'snacks' or egg/chips like a lot of places!!)
Ate there most nights, frequented by Spanish guests too, good food, friendly Spanish staff, fabulous menu - they have rooms there too I believe?
Wednesday is Hippie Market day, turn right at top of road and walk for about 15mins, get there early whilst its cooler. Good shopping for the girls - but not much else.
Es Cana is a nice little resort, not too loud but does 'buzz' at night. Plenty of bars with entertainment/2for1 drinks etc. Again, not my idea of a 2week holiday though, a week would be enough for me?"
Kelly from Brentwood reviewed the Anfora Playa Hotel
"For a 2 star hotel it was very nice. The rooms were big enough and clean. The two pools were very nice and it was rare that we couldn't find a sun bed ( even at peak times).
The hotel staff were very nice and were always willing to help.
Maid service was fine and the rooms were done every day.
The resort of Es Cana was lovely. Lots of restaurants and bars, and a few clubs. Just enough to keep us occupied for 10 days.
We went to Ibiza Town a few evenings and although it is very nice there, don't go via the bus - it was a mare! Go by cab. For 30 Euros it's worth it.
All in all it was a lovely holiday, with just the right mix of livelyness and peace and quiet.
We would go back to this hotel and this resort."
"Hotel facilities were great (more like a 3-star) - very clean rooms, towels and linen changed daily - 2 large pools and close to a lovely beach. The kids enjoyed the hotel entertainment and activities which were all free. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was the evening meal - would have been good to have more choice. But it was a fantastic holiday for a family with children of varying ages."
Top Tip:
"Hire a car - go to Sant Carles - a charming little village (only about 5km away from the hotel). Then drive on to Cala Llenya - a fantastic sandy beach with waves which the kids will love. Don't miss a visit to Ibiza's old town (Dalt Vila) as it's a step back in time - good choice of restaurants there too. "

Property Summary
The family owned Hotel Anfora Playa has been a firm favorite with holidaymakers for many years. This hotel is the perfect place for a great holiday. The rooms have recently undergone refurbishment to a high standard and last year a second large swimming pool was built to the rear of the hotel. This pool has its own wide sun terraces and is served by a seperate poolside bar. As there are now two pools and sun terraces, there is always the perfect spot for everyone! Meals are buffet style and you can choose to take the B&B option, or half board. The resort of Es Cana has a lovely stretch of sandy beach and wide range of shops, bars and restaurants. On Wednesdays it is always fun to take the 15 min. stroll along the road to the well known Hippy Market at Punta Arabi. This lovely little resort is the perfect family holiday destination, and the Hotel Anfora is a will ensure that your stay is a good one!!
