"Lovely hotel - pricey though, very quiet.
Not a 5 star but probably the best your going to get in the area.
The hours of service let the place down.
No Bar or ANY useful room service after at 11pm. Not even for a cup of tea!
No food from 3pm to 6pm.
No shuttle service as advertised.
You need to be FIT to walk up the hill to the hotel."

"The hotel had overbooked on our first night so we were put in a room that was of a very poor standard. It was dirty with cobwebs and a rusty fridge. We had been left some fruit and half a bottle of wine as an "apology”. There were wires sticking out of the walls and we were unable to shower of bathe. The hotel claimed that there was an electrical fault in our original room which would be sorted out for the next day, however when we asked for the key the following day we were told that the room was occupied and we would have to wait until after lunch for access to it.
When I complained to the hotel manager she became very defensive and continued to make excuses. She inferred that because we had not booked directly with the hotel we should expect second class service. We stated that we wanted compensation for the first night as the room cost 120 Euros per night and were eventually begrudgingly offered a free massage.
The rest of the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The pool areas and views from the hotel were lovely but the hotel certainly doesn't warrant its 4 or 5 star rating or inflated prices (bearing in mind we paid half of the hotels advertised rates).
We had emailed the hotel prior to our departure to request a transfer from the airport. The hotel requested our flight details etc. and this was arranged, however there was nobody there to meet us at the airport and we ended up getting a taxi to the hotel (which actually worked out cheaper than the hotels bus).
The hotel no longer has a courtesy bus into Kamari, as advertised on its website."

"Facilities were good in the suites but the food was pretty basic and we couldn't even order a sandwich at lunchtime. Much better to eat out in the plentiful restaurants along the beach which range from cheap to reasonable and the quality was good in all of the ones we tried."

"Warm, friendly and helpful staff, and very adequate accommodation. Great breakfast and lunches from the poolside bar. Avoid the dinner buffet though as all the tavernas we tried were well worth the walk to the bottom of the hill (which was much less strenuous than some reviewers have suggested). Pool can get crowded so you needed to get down early to ensure a sunbed - even in September!"

"The Antinea is a really lovely hotel. The descriptions in brochures and on websites do not do it justice. The position is great, overlooking Kamari. It is close enough to town for you to wander in on foot but far enough away to be quiet. There is a fantastic walk up to the cliff top for the energetic. The hotel rooms are imaginatively arranged on different levels. Rooms have their own balconies or small terraces. There is a great feeling of space and tranqulity about the place. Everything was kept spotlessly clean. The food, though buffet style, was excellent, both for breakfast and evening meal. A good choice of local and international food - something for everyone in fact. The hotel staff were friendly and accomodating. The cost of this exceptional accommodation was terrific value. All in all, a 5 star experience - we tend to go somewhere different every year but would love to come back to Santorini and the Hotel Antinea."

"All rooms are advertised as having a balcony or terrace. This is not correct as despite booking a superior room we ended up without either. All the rooms appeared to be different and it was a lottery as to which one you were allocated. The reception staff were fine if you were, but if you had a problem they became difficult and uncommunicative. Whilst Greece is noted for not serving food hot this hotel took things to extremes and is was quite often cool to cold which made it unappetising. Having said all that the room size was comfortable and the maid service excellent maintaining very high standard of cleanliness. The pool and the sun loungers/parasols were excellent but whilst we were there an extended family, there for a wedding, took over and what should have been a quiet relaxing pool retreat ended up a play area (and this was not children). The hotel is on a hill but nicely away from the hustle and bustle of town. Star rating 3+ not 4."

"Lovely hotel (Antinea) with a pool and very helpful staff.
They served a huge selection of food for the buffet breakfast and buffet dinner - with both Greek & English cuisine so they catered for all tastes.
The hotel was in an excellent location - 5 mins (downhill) to Kamari beach, 1 min to mountain hiking trails."

"Hotel Booked on a B&B basis, so only had dinner the first night. As it was not to our liking we ate each day elsewhere. Having the meals buffet style was not the best way in which we liked to eat, as the food was often cool and lay too ong before being eaten. Other than the food, the hotel was delightful, although the hill up to it from the town was rather daunting in the heat of an afternoon."

"The hotel staff were excellent, the room was great and the hotel was quiet in the evenings - perfect for us and our 2 year old. The reason it doesn't get the above average is that it is in the shade of a mountain in the afternoon and so there is no sun around the pool (and of course the afternoon is best time for the little ones).
The hotel is ideally suited for couples wanting a quiter location (and don't mind the walk up the hill - we hired a jeep!)"

"beutiful place for a nice relaxing holiday,be prepared for some chilly wind around the mountain and very cold swimming pools. but all in all a great place to relax. i would not rate the complex as a four star though i would personally say it was closer to a 3 star"
