kenneth from derbyshire reviewed the Aphrodite Hotel
"July 2008 ,this hotel is very close to the main Termini station in Rome so is an ideal base to explore Rome , we found the hotel to be clean ,tidy and the staff were very nice ,the double room which we had was fine , the only problem is that the termini station (right across the road ) is 24hrs so is still very noisy at night so take ear plugs if your a light sleeper also as with most major 24hr train/metro/bus stations it seems to attract homeless people so in the morning you can expect to see people sleeping rough ,try the steak house just inside the termini station for amazing steaks , rome is a very busy city you need to be brave to cross the roads with all the crazy drivers and the road outside this hotel is very busy , some great little ice cream and pizza shops right on your door step , internet cafe next door to hotel and a few bars a few doors away ,would stay here again"
Top Tip:
"dont book a transfer from the airport or get a taxi , after you collect your bags there is a buss shuttle stand in the aiport, $5 euros to termini station and $6 euros return , bus stop is 1 min walk from hotel , people will try to sell you this same sevice for upto $25 euros each return just wait untill you get to the aiport , also the meto is only $1 euro for 75mins , its packed but will get you to the Colosseum in around 3 mins , at termini bus station look for the red open top bus ,buy a 48hr ticket (works out cheaper)will take you all over rome and you can hop on hop off anywhere , every body goes to the Colosseum in the morning wait untill late afternoon not as many people"

Property Summary
Location
All rooms have been completely renovated and improved to a very good standard. They vary in size and are tastefully furnished in a modern style, with parquet floors and light wooden furniture. The marbled bathrooms, along with the rooms, are in very good condition. Mosaics adorn the walls and, all together, they appear to be quite stylish.
The hotel has a small breakfast room which offers a nice cold buffet, and it has also been completely renovated.
This traditional 4-storey building dates to 1900 and has just been through a total remodel.
This is a good location for a very good standard property. Guests will enjoy its young and friendly environment. 06/07 FR
